Really well executed, nice and smooth to play!
Soo many good design descisions in 48 hours. Colorful, fun, solid entry.
Very fun game! The music was especially catchy, and the variety of obstacles were nice additions to this kind of game, made it feel unique. Nice job!
Really fun game, simple yet efficient game design! Good job!
Extremely funny! I loved it, the right amount of challenge combined with absolute silliness.
Very similar idea to my entry. Great colors and pixel art. The music was really catchy too.
Great creative re-imagining of the breakout mechanic with great design. As a player, I wanted to have more control.
This is fantastic, and feels really polished for the timeframe. At first I was expecting the angle of dude to be dependent only on his position relative to the bouncing platform, but when I realized you could actually control it further with the momentum of the platform I was so excited. Well done, familiar but different enough and fit the theme very well!
The design of this game is it's best aspect. The pixel art is awesome and the music (oh god the music...) is damn good. Rather nice for a jam game man. Good job :)
I like the graphics and the audio, your game is looking cool. However, I had trouble with the theme and the mechanics. Can I eventually save the guy? I think he is determined to die there. I felt I have very little impact on the guy's trajectory with the paddle except for the combo move. Plus, I missed the collision of the paddle with other game elements. I so desperately would really save this lovely fellow and it is a little frustrating that it seems not possible.
Add a crash unfortunately :( Besides that it was quite fun! Simple but working well! I wish I had more control on the direction depending on the platform position!
@meedoc you can change direction of the dude and give him speed by moving the platform rapidly when he touch it
This one excels in nearly every category. Music and visuals are fantastic, the character has loads of personality. It took me a while to figure out how to control where he went, but once I did, I saw a huge potential skill ceiling. Excellent work.
Really cool game ! The polish is very nice, and the game is quite innovative :)
I had a bit of difficulty controlling the character (when trying to chang his speed with the momentum of the paddle, I often miscalculated and did not catch him), but appart from that the game is very good !
Very clean, a classic reinvented with funny poses.
I keep being greedy trying to make combos, but instead I fail to catch him. I should probably just keep him alive by moving the bar only if necessary, but I love the stars popping out when you make a risky push.
Good audio visuals, the music especially earns its keep. Silliness is also welcome in **these trying times**.
As a mash up of the two, Arkanoid clearly had a bigger impact on the result. The Combo system is not at all as clear as in Icy Tower and unfortunately the paddle mechanic didn't translate over too well either.
It is really tricky to move the dude in the direction I'd want at the speed I'd want. More often than not there is either no change or a massive change! It is also likely that a rigirous paddle movement will miss the dude altogether, which is rather annying. I'd prefer the old way of changing the direction of the ~~ball~~ dude, i.e. simply by hitting him with either end of the paddle and no need for movement.
I don't really care about the theme in a jam, but I'm stll obliged to comment on the lack of it here. Replace the dude with a ball again and *ta-da* its a gone!
As an infusion of bright colors, light action and a tad of levity, this is certainly spot-on. As a challenge I'd play for a high highscore? Not quite there... yet!
Great little mashup of two arcade puzzlers here! The graphics and audio were great, just a really fun and colorful retro atmosphere. I felt that the paddle control was a little wonky and required too much of an accelerated mouse swing to really influence the dude's movement, but when it did influence it, it was way too strong of an angle. Coin collection was nice and juicy. But overall a very fun and cute idea I'd like to play more of.
Great job, I love the pixel art! The character's air trick are just so funny. This is really impressive and polished work for a compo game, you nailed it!
Great entry! I liked this one a lot. The bouncy feeling of the Dude is great and I like the upgrades. Oh, and also the silly poses are great.
Cute little game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/hSxuRpvTWAs
