This game is really neat. It looks and sounds amazing. Gameplay was very addictive as well, though it took me awhile to figure out what was happening. tbh, I'm still not sure if there was any reason to avoid running out of or maxing out heat/wind/water, but I did my best to avoid it! I lasted to 700 villagers, then I did something which caused the game to freeze. Still had a lot of fun though!
I lasted with a max of 333 villagers. Rather nice game but I'm still not entirely sure how to really play it. I get that you have to balance everything and also keep track of the fuel you have but I feel like there's something about the game which I'm missing about how to play it. Still, the visual and audio design was awesome, loved the entire setup and premise. A great entry overall
The animations and visuals of this game are amazing.
Very addictive game, you're pixel art are insane ! Well played !!!
It took me a while to figure out the game play. The looks simple and neat. The fire and the moving mini humans added to the theme of the game. Overall enjoyed it very much :)
Mechanically, this is a absolute gem of an entry, The genres you went with are risky bets in a time crunch but for this title, it paid off. Certainly among my favorite LD49 games to play; Very well done!
One of my favorite entries I've played, even though I'm not entirely sure how to play it lol, but the aesthetic and atmosphere mixed with the gambling element of random cards kept me goin for a while. Addictive, well polished, foreboding atmosphere, great work! Top score was 132 :)
i have to agree with the other comments here, that i felt i was missing something and didnt fully know how to play but i still enjoyed it despite that, which means youre onto something here. the graphics were very satisfying and i enjoyed seeing my little villagers catch aflame and spread it to their friends. my only suggestion would be explaining in more detail how the game works. my high score was 286 : )
Loved the game! Very polished for a jam entry. Took a minute to figure out, but once I did it was a great time. High score was 160.
Really nice game once I'd played a few rounds and gotten the hang of it. Gave somewhat of a frostpunk vibe. Somehow managed to get 9999 fuel on one playthrough (might have been a bug?) and got a score of 1231 :D
Really liked this even though I didn't quite understand the mechanics. Had fun playing several rounds, my top score was 188. Very cool retro graphics and sounds
This game had mad style. The way everything moved around smoothly, shifted size, and panned really added depth to what was otherwise a very simple and clean style. I didn't completely understand the mechanics of the game, and was able to reach a score of about 800 simply by spamming the cards. The number of villagers and effects on screen drastically slowed down my computer. Other than that this was a really interesting entry to the jam. Great work!
Weird and slightly chaotic, but still very much loveable and stylish! Got to 313 villagers, then it went off the hill =) Respect for vector-like graphics! Music has a nice potential to be synced with what's happening - sometimes it worked well, sometimes it kept tension even if everything was good and stable.
On little bit I missed and kept losing because of that is a better visual indication that fuel is going down in 10-ish seconds. It was hard to keep track on otherwise.
Always delivering slick games with cool mechanics. Amazing presentation and a good take on the theme. My biggest problem with the game is the screen that seems to replicate a mobile game (vertical). The game wouldn't really benefit from a bigger screen though, I just don't like it :) .
Great entry.
Really interesting game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 49 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/_QnfntM1G-4
