LD38 — A Small World

Micro-World Defense by SaxOps1 2017-05-11T21:39:17Z

I didn't like that you could only rotate 45 degrees, free form rotation would prevent the exploit that other people mentioned (spam). Maybe I missed a restart button, but a auto restarting upon death would have been very welcome.

Abaddon by Geckoo1337 2017-05-04T00:05:57Z

Not a original concept nor does it add or improve the genre (or Devil Daggers) in any way. Nice try though.

Until Tomorrow by MSiddeek 2017-05-11T21:20:49Z

Great entry. It lacks mechanics, but it has a lot of dialogue/text, "cut-scenes" and it's very atmospheric (the ominous music helps).

Maybe it was the plan to make it an RPG (time constraints?!)? It's a very awesome little adventure nonetheless.

Ant Detective by Aumbra 2017-05-03T08:21:12Z

The game is quite funny and the graphics are nice. I wish there was more to the story (the game ended abruptly) and/or a more developed investigation system, but it's a nice entry nonetheless.

I killed the captain... twice.

ZEUS VS MOLES by Fouralex 2017-05-04T00:23:33Z

Good presentation (graphics, sound and music). The gameplay was way too simple for me, but was well executed. My high score was 45.

Planet or Die! by Silas Reinagel 2017-05-03T19:28:51Z

Nice interpretation of the theme. I got a little confused in the beginning, but overall I really enjoyed the game and thought it was very funny (with some nice references). I'm amazed at the amount of dialogue and choices available. Great job!

A Growing Adventure by frankiesmileshow 2017-05-02T04:41:20Z

This is a good game, but a bit slow. It seems like a very arcade-y roguelike with a very hands-off character progression (which I don't really like). With that said, I played it for a very long time and it was very enjoyable, but didn't manage to kill the Wizard and the Two Knights.

Planetoid Piracy by RobotSoulsGames 2017-05-03T19:19:43Z

Very well polished game with a lot of stuff to do. It felt too easy, but with the amount of content it's probably hard to balance during the jam. Getting stuck on planets was annoying in the beginning because I didn't know what was happening.

Maybe you guys can expand the core ideas and turn this into a full game.

MiniPolis by korvyashka 2017-05-11T22:03:21Z

This is a nice and unique concept/mechanic. Making the game procedurally generated would increase replayability (or a simple scoring system).

LD42 — Running out of space

Days to Come by Cassio Eduardo 2018-08-17T03:00:42Z

Thanks everyone.

@ramanujo I usually pick smaller scopes when I team up, so I don't fail other people and we all deliver a more polished game. But when working solo, I enjoy making big and complex projects (and I usually fail >_<). I know that's weird, but it's my way of having fun on game jams.

Days to Come by Cassio Eduardo 2018-08-20T02:43:24Z

@shozou @kruemelkeksfan @anstabo @madjackmcmad Try the post jam version. It's untested at this point, but it should be fine.

Running out of space by Predominant 2018-08-16T23:02:53Z

Solid game. The movement is a little weird because it's isometric and sometimes it will launch other boxes over the costumer's side.

Good job.

CRAMMM: Totally Accurate Studying Simulator by tuism 2018-08-16T18:37:52Z

Simple and polished (WebGL aside). I don't know what to say about this one other than it's a very solid entry, you guys accomplished what you set out to do. Maybe you should take down the WebGL link, because clicks does not register properly and will represent the game badly.

Great job.

Rad Rhino by madjackmcmad 2018-08-20T03:04:51Z

The game is called Rad Rhino, but P1 is the bird? What kind of trickery is this? It's like getting a birthday present as a kid, but when you open it up you see a Megadrive instead of a Super Nintendo.

"Jokes" aside, I think it's awesome that you guys even attempted this. The art is good and there is a decent amount of enemy types/patterns. The thing that really weirded me out was the collision, I think that should be a priority if you guys work on a post-jam version.

Great job.

Spacetime Landlord Tycoon by mechanicallife 2018-08-16T17:09:32Z

Really enjoyed this. I don't know if this is a bug, but I was getting the same people twice (clones), and that makes it more difficult because they share similar slots. There should be a clear way of seeing how much money you earn (or I didn't find one).

Great job.

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-16T16:00:04Z

The "inventory management" was one of my first ideas, but dropped it because I thought I couldn't execute it this well. This is a very well polished game.

I think the game should give me more reason to keep items that are not better than what I have equipped, like the ability to sell items or something like that, otherwise I just destroy everything that is not needed. Another thing is item selection, I usually ended up moving the item that I didn't want to move when they were overlapping, maybe cycling the items under the cursor every click would be better.

Great job.

Final Voyage by Simon Rahnasto 2018-08-20T03:31:06Z

This is quite impressive. The controls are fine and the presentation is really good. I think there should be more rewarding events and the creep didn't spread as fast. Other than that, the game is great. If you guys work on a post-jam version, feel free to @me.

Good job.

Personal Space by ProdigalSon 2018-08-20T03:21:26Z

Very simple, but well made. Overall the game is good, but too easy. The ability to stun and lure them to a position makes every solution the same, maybe having random patterns or two enemy types (one that follow and one that is random), would alleviate the problem.

Good job.

Misadventures of Crowley Flatcheeks by detectiveLosos 2018-08-16T18:24:47Z

Adventure games are not my cup of tea, but this is really well made (graphics, audio, controls). The camera gave me a bit of trouble and I wish you could control the player while zoomed out.

Great job.

Misadventures of Crowley Flatcheeks by detectiveLosos 2018-08-17T14:41:27Z

@annie-owl I didn't fault the game for that, but it would be the perfect feature to compensate for my poor orientation skills  .

Pre Alpha Build by PlusMinus 2018-08-16T16:35:41Z

The art is great, but I think the gameplay is lacking a bit because there isn't much to and the enemies always do the same thing (move towards you and attack). Adding buildings that slow enemies or buff/debuff buildings/enemies would add a bit of variety, but having different enemy patterns and attacks is maybe more important.

Good job.

Pipe Dream by JavaSaurus 2018-08-20T15:52:39Z

I really like the SteamPunk style and the overall presentation is pretty good (specially graphics). I also enjoyed the enemy variety of types and patterns. On the other hand, the floaty controls were a bit of a letdown because it made the game seem less precise and less responsive. As for improvements, I think there should be powerups for the player to pickup (permanent and/or timed) to add bit more variety to the gameplay.

Good job.

Mob Floor by Pixels Everywhere 2018-08-20T04:10:03Z

Beautiful presentation and there is a very good amount of enemy types and patterns. I think it would be better if the character had a slash instead of a stab (maybe as an upgrade or something), to cover more area. Also, I wish I could walk and block at the same time, even if at half speed. Solid entry.

Good job.

Clot! by Ghoster 2018-08-16T15:09:13Z

Smooth controls and clean design, a very good game overall. I think the circle should shrink based on score instead of shrinking overtime, that way it would remove the "randomness" aspect of it. Also, some enemies attack from outside the circle, I think that is a little bit unfair.

Great job.

Airlock Gridlock by HYPRGLOO 2018-08-15T22:19:23Z

Pretty nice concept and very well executed. I felt the games was to easy, maybe adding some sort of event would make things more chaotic. Also, the java requirement is a let down (I personally haven't installed it in years).

Space Invasion by Nam Nguyen 2018-08-20T04:14:40Z

This is very well put together. I think the gun feels out of place in the game, but this is just a nitpick. Other than that, this is a great platformer (and I don't even like them anymore).

Great job.

Park & Match by Carlos Giraldo 2018-08-16T15:27:05Z

The low poly art is beautiful and the car physics are pretty good. I usually don't like these kind of games, but this was enjoyable. I think more things should happen later on in the game, because it became pretty repetitive after the first minute.

Great job.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Pre-Life by Cassio Eduardo 2018-12-08T09:40:38Z

@conduit Thanks for the feedback. The music is indeed original and was made by Harllon Filho (in the credits).

Pre-Life by Cassio Eduardo 2018-12-12T19:35:30Z

@maycon Sim.

Antlerman by Jiri_One 2018-12-08T01:40:03Z

This was nice, but I think you could have done more with the sacrifices, since the way it is implemented right now, you only have to kill stuff and proceed to the altar. Maybe the players health and the blood should be the same thing, then the sacrifice would be meaningful.

Nice entry.

NOPE by icxon 2018-12-09T00:56:32Z

This is among the best that I've played so far. The mechanics are simple, but it's pretty well executed and the atmosphere is very good.

Good job.

Resist and Persist by conrad123 2018-12-08T07:06:04Z

This was a neat game with a great presentation. There should be more enemy types and player weapons, otherwise the player wont feel very rewarded. The objective also needs to be more interesting, so the player feels more motivated.

Nice job.

Anno Luciferus by madjackmcmad 2018-12-08T08:49:12Z

Very satisfying to throw and bounce the hammer around. I wish the buttons for the shield and the hammer were separate though.

Very solid arcady game. Good job.

Room44 by arzi 2018-12-08T20:42:06Z

Very polished game with a good presentation. The writing is a bit hit and miss because noone is taking the murder and the sabotage seriously (that is my impression at least). Also, there isn't much of a confirmation of what is in the file that Jack was investigating or I just missed it.

Very impressive though. Good job.

Elwik Mage Academy by mrjoshuamclean 2018-12-08T05:15:46Z

The art is not consistent (characters and background). The story is charming and seems to be pretty big (considering there are multiple endings). I only did 1 playthrough and ended up with the second ending.

The theme of sacrifie was pretty subtle and felt more like a simple choice than a "real" sacrifice. Maybe it needs a more severe impact on the characters.

Visual novels requries so much content and it is a very niche genre, so I think this is a very bold attempt (specially for a jam). I imagine you enjoy writting.

Good job.

Sacrifices must be made by mobiledev 2018-12-08T05:53:41Z

I really enjoyed the art, but the controls were very clunky and unresponsive at times (didn't shoot when I pressed Space, maybe it's layring issue and I didn't see the bulelt). Also, the gameplay is pretty simple and didn't have enough variety of weapons, enemies and/or mechanics.

OpFern Class by ghost-in-the-toast 2018-12-08T10:06:09Z

This is a very solid entry with great presentation (specially the music) and a oldschool feel. I think it's only missing a sub weapon (ultimate) for each pilot and it would be excelent.

Very well polished, well done.

Cultist's Quest by James Dunlap 2018-12-08T09:29:42Z

I think there is too much wandering around in empty spaces, maybe smaller floors and more monsters would be ideal. The controls are very roguelike-y (duh), which is not a good thing (specially for the small amount of features).

Other than that you did a good job.

STAR JUNK by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2018-12-08T21:39:57Z

This is really good, it also looks and feels like a SNES/Megadrive game (concept and presentation). But it has some quirks. For instance, the turn rate is really annoying because the enemy's projectile is pretty fast, so the player has to take considerable distance before turning and shooting. It also makes aiming quite difficult.

Otherwise you did a fantastic job. Well done.

Devil Cult Party by frankiesmileshow 2018-12-08T10:22:33Z

Great entry as always. The presentation is very good and their eating sound is funny. There is lot stuff to do, but is not very challenging. Not much happens if the player does not take action, I think it would be great if a angry mob showed from time to time with torches and pitchforks.

Amazing job though.

Dev Jam by Fahrenheit459 2018-12-08T08:18:49Z

This was a weird game. You should be more clear about the objective and have different models for the Features and Bugs.

The game is very luck based, since the Bugs just wander around the map (even to locations that the player just left).

Kerla the Demon Hunter by Empyrean 2018-12-08T19:56:21Z

1. The controls are a bit alien. Delegating too much stuff to one hand is not ideal. The attack and jump keys should be ‘J’ and ‘K’ (or something like that). I played this on the arrow keys and used ‘S’ to attack and Space to jump, which isn’t the intended control scheme. 2. The movement is very floaty and clunky, yet it requires precise platforming. 3. Clipping the ground and walls is way too common. 4. Holding the Jump button should not auto jump. 5. The camera should not follow the player vertically, specially with the current jump height. It gets very disorienting. 6. The choices are bit arbitrary. It forces the player to sacrifice something that they didn’t acquire themselves and do not really know their use (amulet and torch), making the sacrifice less interesting because it changes nothing to the player.

I understand the idea, but it isn’t very well executed. Nice effort though.

SACRIFICE by SphinxFr 2018-12-08T06:49:24Z

This has one of the best graphics this jam (that I've played so far), but the gameplay is a little clunky and glitchy.

1. The game would be much better if it had better feedback, because it is quite difficult to assess when does the player take damage from certain attacks (like the groundpound). 2. Collecting orbs was very annoying, since I have to walk precisely over them. It would be much better to have a much bigger collection area. 3. The AI barely hits the player. I can stand just next to its feet and it will get stuck in a sweep attack loop. 4. Does not fit the theme for me. There is no sacrifice or even choice. The player just dies from time to time.

Very impressive though. Good job.

Space Battle Zero by rumor 2018-12-08T04:03:49Z

This is very polished. The whole presentation is great, but I wish there was more stuff to do. I think you achieved what you set out to do, so I don't really know what to say.

Good job though.

Dark Villagers by AwiX 2018-12-08T01:28:38Z

The idea is nice and it has some good graphics and atmosphere, but the game could give more feedback to the player, like creature health, wave timer, etc. It would be nice to have a way to heal the creatures.

Good job.

Rain Away by hechi 2018-12-08T01:18:40Z

Nice game. I think the game lacks a some polish, like the camera follows the player when he fall into a hole. Also infinite ammo is a bit of a let down since it would be much more interesting if the player had limited ammo or some sort of cooldown (instead of non-stop spamming).

Overall I think you guys did a good job and I really enjoyed the art and the music.

Rift Core by chaosed0 2018-12-08T06:14:29Z

This is beautiful and has a good amount of content. There should be a way to manually progress the dialog (instead of a timer) and a way to skip cut-scenes.

Great job.

Break a leg by AxelOlivier 2018-12-08T04:26:55Z

Greate visuals, but the idea is very simple and it gets repetitive really quickly. It would be nice to have different enemy types and/or powerups to spyce things up.

Nice job though.

PeonCraft - Sacrificed by Kornel Meszaros 2018-12-08T21:17:03Z

I really like the idea and the presentation. But there is very little to do in the game. Maybe if the "fake player" actually issued commands and you had to gather resources and things like that would make the game more interesting.

Nice job though.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Lunch Lord by madjackmcmad 2019-05-01T05:19:29Z

This is pretty fun and gets very chaotic (a good thing in my book). But the player and enemies get stuck in the walls quite frequently which makes the movement less enjoyable.

Other than that, great job.

LiveOn by maskinmask 2019-05-01T00:10:42Z

This game has a lot in it, but the controls are very cumbersome. Clicking on the ground should move the character instantly. Other than that the game is pretty polished.

2nd Bank by bitdecay 2019-05-01T07:23:56Z

This is very nice. How is this in the "Zero" category? Your team should vote and interact with the community to get more votes/visibility, otherwise what is the point?

Great job.

Seaway by Constantin 2019-05-01T00:49:02Z

Prettiest games so far. Good atmosphere and very relaxing (if you ignore the whole slavery thing). The interface could use some tweaking because the shop is very confusing. Your boat goes nuts if you click on lang too.

Great job.

HONC: The Building Blocks of Life by Jake White 2019-05-01T00:24:49Z

This is beautiful. The atmosphere and the graphics are great, but the controls are really sensitive. I think it would be better to have a message like "Press 'E' to manage the planet." appear when the player gets in the range of the planet instead of just taking the control from the player like that, it's kind of annoying.

But this is a pretty well made game. Good job.

Bakemono by Lawrence 2019-05-01T00:59:05Z

This awesome. Love these well-done arcade-y games. The fonts could have a better resolution though. Also, the price of the sacrifices could be displayed near it.

Great job overall. My favorite game so far.

SACRIFIGHTS by Lumpy 2019-05-01T04:59:37Z

Amazing work. This has a lot of content for a jam, which is really impressive. I don't know if I'm missing something but I ate and sacrificed everything, so all I could until the last day was sleep(still beat the boss though).

Great job. My favorite game so far.

Deep Space Prospector by Roidz 2019-05-01T06:03:00Z

This is very good. I don't really know what to say about this game. I feel that you finished what you set out to do and the result is pretty polished and complete.

Good job.

Rashness by Saering 2019-05-01T00:01:32Z

This very well polished and the art is amazing. I wish I could just hold the shoot button instead of clicking because it can get tiresome.

Very solid entry. Good job.

Bloodletter by shp 2019-05-01T05:30:24Z

The presentation, style and feel (FPS mechanics) of the game is very good. The only downside is the lack of enemy variety which makes the game really repetitive.

Rip and Tear.

Danko by Pixel_Error 2019-05-01T01:44:17Z

The art is absolutely amazing. The game itself is lacking a bit of variety and all the enemies do the same thing. Sometimes the enemies attack during a knockback (or it does not reset their timers).

Pretty impressive otherwise. Good job.

Soul Checkout by Pepijn 2019-04-30T22:54:24Z

Pretty good overall, but it's really easy to cheese the enemies just by standing at the end of a corridor and shooting them. Having more enemy variety (behavior and and type) would vastly improve the game.

Good job.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

GemStar Saga by Cassio Eduardo 2021-04-27T19:55:45Z

@steelax what was the error?

GemStar Saga by Cassio Eduardo 2021-04-27T20:04:19Z

@steelax @lohii Fixed. This was very dumb on my part. I always have a gamepad plugged in, so I didn't catch the error. Thanks for the report.

GemStar Saga by Cassio Eduardo 2021-04-27T22:03:44Z

@alexandre-pedroza GameMaker Studio 2, Gimp, Blender and bfxr.

GemStar Saga by Cassio Eduardo 2021-04-27T23:34:50Z

@plepletier Thanks! Nice to see the scores going up. Glad you enjoyed it.

Monkey Quest by paulloz 2021-04-30T03:22:23Z

This is a very good game, it's among the the best this jam.

One problem though, my monke has found the glitch of eternal life and is now on the loose.

philosophers stone.png

I think I got hit (or died) during the shop transition and became the immortal monke (nothing did damage to me).

Jokes aside, congrats on the game, its pretty good.

Adelie - Rolling in the Deep by Meep 2021-05-11T23:50:34Z

Loved this, my favorite compo entry so far. The horizontal vs vertical movement difference made attacking from above the optimal approach, but that wasn't always possible, which is a good thing. I think the only "real" complaint I have is that the room should have a visual lock whenever the player enters it (just for clarity).

I hate fish.

Teh Man and the Sea by Plepletier 2021-04-27T23:33:47Z

Very well done and as far as I can tell this is very well balanced for LD standards. The art and atmosphere are very good. Like others have said, it took pressing a lot of keys until I found the 'E' key.

Great job overall.

Acheron's Gambit by zarthas 2021-04-27T20:12:59Z

I don't know if this happens for everyone, but there are some visual artifacts that happens constantly, where white lines appears on screen.

Other than that, good job.

Depth by SaraJS 2021-04-27T19:28:53Z

Really cool game. It's so simple, yet it fits the theme and is fun. Good job.

Super Turtle Drop by JavaSaurus 2021-05-04T10:39:26Z

Pretty cool spin on Mr. Driller concept. I didn't think there were many people out there that had played the game, but this is the third game (including mine) that were inspired by it. Great job though, this was fun.

Tower Tower Defence Defence by IAmWave 2021-04-27T20:45:33Z

This was pretty interesting. Thought it was going to be much more complicated than it actually is.

Heroes Dungeon: Doomsday Reporter Saga by AlexTagun 2021-04-27T19:50:43Z

Cool integration of the theme with a auto runner. For the scoring system, maybe you could use something like http://dreamlo.com/ which is pretty simple to implement and is a perfect fit for game jams.

Frog by cacciatc 2021-04-29T06:23:59Z

This is great, a very solid game all around. Did you guys use Nes Maker (or something like that) or did you did everything by hand? Pretty cool regardless of the means.

Great job.

Asterisk by Crychair 2021-04-29T06:07:22Z

Really like the entire presentation of this game, specially the voice acting. The gameplay was bit unpolished compared to the rest, but I liked the game in general.

Great job.

Edward Driller Hands by SyndaKai 2021-04-30T00:12:49Z

Great overall presentation. I think that having score as the only mechanic to incentive the player to move around the level (instead of digging straight down) is not enough. In Mr. Driller they had the air capsules as a secondary mechanic and it worked well, maybe something similar should be implemented. Great job otherwise.

My game has a very similar concept, but I took a different approach.

LD49 — Unstable

Volatile Valkyrie by madjackmcmad 2021-10-16T00:07:38Z

Always love the arcade-y feel of your games.

Really impressive amount of content for the compo. I think the movement feels a bit janky, specially the jump which feels very linear. Sometimes when you do a jump attack it comes out the wrong way.

Other than that the game is pretty fun, great job.

heat wave by gentoogames 2021-10-15T23:40:54Z

Always delivering slick games with cool mechanics. Amazing presentation and a good take on the theme. My biggest problem with the game is the screen that seems to replicate a mobile game (vertical). The game wouldn't really benefit from a bigger screen though, I just don't like it :) .

Great entry.

AFTER SUN by rufson 2021-10-15T22:36:43Z

Aside from the jankyness of climbing the ladders from the platforms and the space junk that that comes at you way to fast, I very much enjoyed the game and the presentation (the planets specially look really good).

Your game has a similar-ish base idea to mine, including the rescue mechanic (even though it's optional in mine).

Good job.

Kattonauten by Elastic 2021-10-15T22:10:29Z

While the movement is precise, I found it a bit on the difficult side. The game overall is pretty good though and has a really good presentation.

We had a similar base idea (hard to control ship), but went in totally different directions. Nice to see a pico-8 game on LD, you did a great job.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

Speed Phoning by TimBeaudet 2018-04-26T00:58:18Z

Pretty interesting concept, I got too distracted by the puzzle sometimes and lost my progress (I know it's intended, but still scary). The presentation is functional, but a bit empty, some trees would go a long way. Otherwise the gameplay is solid and more intense that it looks.

Nice job.

HellScape by Cassio Eduardo 2018-04-25T22:26:46Z

Thanks for all the feedback.

@ragtagradical I actually implemented variants and branching paths in the generator, but didn't have enough time to model the variations, unfortunately.

Shutin by Ava Skoog 2018-04-26T19:05:25Z

This has a great atmosphere and nails the feeling of loneliness, overall the presentation is fantastic. The gameplay is simple and executed pretty well.

Awesome job.

Perpetual Quest by Mr_Field 2018-04-26T16:22:42Z

This is a very good game. My first idea for this jam was something very similar to this, but I scraped it because I would not be able to make it look this good. I think some procedural generation would fit this game pretty well and would increase replayability (but would require more content).

Great job.

Rock Bottom by Jungle 2018-04-24T21:17:39Z

Other comments pretty much said all that needed to be said. This is a great experience with a valid message at the end and the music fits the game pretty well.

Awesome job. Glad to see another Brazilian developer participating in jams.

Very impressive game and it's harder than it looks, which is a nice surprise. The boss didn't give me any damage and just kept pushing me through the scene/walls.

Congrats to the whole team.

Dungeon Scrawl by ildfuglen 2018-04-26T17:08:26Z

The best typing game I've seen so far. Pretty amazing for a compo entry.

BASEBALL in HELL by ragtagradical 2018-04-25T22:42:55Z

This has a great atmosphere and I actually jumped on the first out. Gameplay wise it's a bit hard to figure what's going on at first, but I got a hang of it.

Nice work.

A-Card Shooter by Markus 2018-04-25T23:12:21Z

Great entry. The art is clear and consistent. The gameplay offers a good amount of depth and the movement is solid. On the downside, the shop menu is functional, but not very good (it could show more cards and only show the cards that you already own).

I think if you add some procedural level generation and have chests that drop rare/legendary cards that can't be bought would make this a awesome roguelite.

Those damn ninjas.

Sword And Plow by frankiesmileshow 2018-04-24T14:52:45Z

The game has lots of little systems and managing and interacting with them is very fun. The decision to not add EXP/LVL progression only highlights the crop management feature, which is great. On the downside, the UI is clunky and does not always work (right clicking should place the item(s) automatically).

Great entry. It would make a great mobile/handheld game where you can have fun in a very short period of time.

Match & Shoot by joekinglake 2018-04-26T19:57:55Z

Nice idea. The mix of those genres work well enough, but I wish there was more to it, like: enemies, more interesting hazards, power ups, other block types, etc. I understand that this a compo entry, but a post jam version would be interesting.

Great job anyway.

Think Before Escape by acoto87 2018-04-26T21:43:10Z

This is a well done game with a clever mechanic and good presentation. But I think there are some places that the wait for a good platform cycle is huge, and there is nothing the player can do about that (which may be frustrating). Maybe a mechanic that would let you move while it's not your turn or something that stops just the platforms (just spit-balling) would help improve the game.

Well done.

Blocks'N'Blaster by HPMNK 2018-04-26T00:10:48Z

This is one of the best tetris-like that I've seen this jam, the presentation and gameplay are great. I only got a little confused about the ground slam (jump + down) to make the pieces go faster.

Great game.

Honest Dan's Trout by Honest Dan 2018-04-25T18:11:22Z

Fun game. Everything is pretty well executed/implemented in this. The only downside is that it's just a simple Tetris + Breakout mix which are games of the puzzle genre and you didn't do anything different on top of that (like power ups that freezes the ball, or add multiple balls, etc).

Awesome job.

Music Make Me Shoot My Gun by AHS 2018-04-25T15:17:24Z

Interesting, but needs more balance. I like that the player has something to do during the defense phase (in contrast to most tower defense games), but it's kind of a negative too, since you don't have time to pay attention to what is happening on the field. One idea to fix this (and make things a little more balanced) is to make the enemies slower and give them a move speed boost every time the player miss a note, the rhythm could get faster overtime too (up to a limit). Or giving the towers a damage boost for hitting all notes. The point is that you have to make the rhythm aspect of the game more interesting to the player while keeping things balanced.

Good job overall.

Super Soccer by comenoha 2018-04-26T17:24:17Z

Interesting game, but I think the AI was pretty easy and leaving a player behind to push/block them always worked (which detracted from the fun), it would be much better if you added a local multiplayer option. Also, the music does not fit the game in my opinion.

Solid entry otherwise.

A Carpenter's Tale by DeadlyMidnight 2018-04-24T18:36:38Z

The presentation is very good (specially for a game jam) and the gameplay is smooth and functional. One minor annoyance is that the portal takes too long to build.

Great job.

Mom, I was stolen by UFO by Croosle 2018-04-24T20:02:46Z

I got a Bunker Punks vibe from the game, nice. The movement is really good and the overall presentation is solid, but unfortunately, it lacks polish and content. If you work on a post jam version, leave me a message so I can play it again.

Good job.

P.S. I almost did a FPS + Roguelike too (apparently a lot of people did), but decided to go with FPS + Runner instead.

Seven Ate Nine by topbraj 2018-04-24T14:10:10Z

This is a very well done game in most aspects. Just the fact that you put time into making a in-game tutorial just shows the level of polish of this entry. I think "horror" is the weakest part of the game since urgency is not necessarily horror, but the overall execution is pretty solid.

Good job.

Mud and Pixels by Hare Software 2018-04-25T21:22:55Z

The art and gameplay are pretty good. This can be a very fun mobile game with more work (new units, enemies and some new mechanics).

Good job.

TimeStaar [Turn Based Bullet Hell] by NullCode 2018-04-25T22:17:26Z

The pixel art is beautiful. The mechanic is very fun, but would benefit greatly from power ups and/or other weapons. Good game otherwise.

Great job.

Gorytale by zivs 2018-04-24T20:41:07Z

The character lines are pretty funny. The presentation is very good to (specially the music) and the movement is solid. I think you would be better if it had more variety in the enemy behavior (shooting projectiles, etc) and have more weapons. It was really fun though.

Great job. Rip and Tear.

00Boyfriend - A Spy's Dating Sim by SamStallion 2018-04-26T18:11:21Z

This is a very polished game with great art, music and smooth gameplay. Fantastic presentation all around, congrats to everyone involved. I think other people have said enough about the good stuff.

I think neither side of the gameplay (action and texting) are doing very much though. The enemies could do more than stand and shoot, there is no ammo or hidden weapons and very little urgency. The texting aspect was very simple and didn't do much to affect the action/platforming or the ending (there could've been interrogation sections where a text would affect outcome, or something like that). It feels more like you are answering random questions than playing a dating sim with consequences.

Sorry for the long criticism, but only singing praises doesn't help anyone. Still a very impressive game with satisfying shooting/movement. Great job.
