This game is RAD. Reminds me of an awesome, pre-rendered Saturn game. I sort of wish it was a touch easier - your melee attack and gun are not very effective, since the enemies have such small hitboxes. Even with that being the case, its still super cool. Nicely done!

I too was unable to play due to an error:
############################################################################################ ERROR in action number 1 of Draw Event for object obj_menu_controller:
global variable name 'default_gamepad' index (100541) not set before reading it. at gml_Object_obj_menu_controller_Draw_64 ############################################################################################ gml_Object_obj_menu_controller_Draw_64 (line -1)
I'm on Windows 10
@steelax @lohii Fixed. This was very dumb on my part. I always have a gamepad plugged in, so I didn't catch the error. Thanks for the report.
Nice game! Brings me old metroid vibes!
Super nice game! What tools did you guys use to make this? Congrats!
@alexandre-pedroza GameMaker Studio 2, Gimp, Blender and bfxr.
wOWWW!!! This game got me! Really! This type of game is my favorty!!! Scoreboard and plataformer dash megamen like \o/ Congratulations! I really enjoy and, of course, played to broke the record! Good job guys!score.png
@plepletier Thanks! Nice to see the scores going up. Glad you enjoyed it.
Loved this on the stream! I'd say main issue is that the controls are a bit overwhelming, lots of actions mapped to lots of buttons, especially if playing on keyboard. Idk how id fix it exactly, maybe moving some actions to be button combinations instead of single button triggers?

Nice game, getting real retro vibes here. Feel good game, if that's a thing.
This was really cool, I love the artstyle you went with, the very megaman aestetic. The gameplay was cool too although I did mix up the controls a bunch. Maybe drill and attack could be one action, which would also make more sense with the downwards dash. Another thing that is cool is the veriety of enemies that you have added to the game, but I think some people might not even encouter the ones that appear later in the game. I don't know how to fix this though...
Either way, this was a really solid game, really well done!
I like the mechanics at play here, but the control scheme is kind of a killer for me. I'd prefer if jump were W, dash were Shift, all drill controls were unified, etc. Besides that, the audio is great and the art style is really interesting! The boulder mechanic was cool and having leaderboards was neat. Overall I gave it a 3.5/5 - impressive work for a one-person jam!

I think the controls were a little awkward at first, having so many options available and not being eased into them slowly. However, once you got used to them, it was pretty well controllable. I came into it thinking the shoot height would be a little awkward, but waiting out enemy cycles to line up worked out, and it forced you to make use of the rest of the kit (the drill bouncing, melee attack, etc.). It really grew on me, and found myself diving back in despite some frustrating deaths- would love to see this idea polished further! :D
