The first two games, I was standing still and shooting conscientiously, moving only when my clips were empty and it was, well, meh... But then I started running & jumping around gathering ammo while trying to shoot straight at my target. And that's when the fun started! And it was a pretty great experience. I think you should have emphatized the fact that running is essential, maybe by adding some threats to avoid or something. Because in the end, it's a pretty nervous game, for a match 3 game.
I played a few games and reached a hi-score of 4490.
Great job Joe! I like the core loop of shooting and finding ammo while having to strategize which colors to shoot. The timer really helps the sense of having to make quick decisions with what blocks to pop. Also, while the audio seemed a little basic to me at first, I appreciated the throwback to classic FPS games like Unreal with the announcer, as well as the satisfying soft pop noise that the colored boxes make as they are destroyed.
Additionally, I felt at first that I didn't have enough ammo but after a few rounds it seemed O.K. in order to maintain that constant motion.
With a little tighter movement and maybe a faster paced standard run, I could find myself playing many levels of a full game of this.

Nice and polished, few times I reached a moment when my shots at partially destroyed block were doing no damage (green block every time). Would love to see some jumpers or portals you have to use to get ammo from far floating islands. Good effort
Wow, this game was great, I mean, the concept, the graphics, the sounds effect. I am amazed by the level of polish of this game !
But I found a little bug : Score is not reset between games, the only way is to restart the game. So I was like : "Yeah I got 4000 points on this one ! I'm improving ! But in fact the score was just added from the previous try ^^"
(sorry for my bad english, I'm french)

I have thought of FPS + Many things while idea-generating but I have never thought of this. It works much better than I initially expected and I totally love it. My High Score is 2960. My only nitpick is that I was expecting the reload to be the right-mouse click. And one more thing, I think adding longer time options would be good since the game currently finishes too quickly. And may be a bigger world with more than one match-3 monolith would be fun too. Great job.

I actually hadn't played a match-3 before, so I was foolishly shooting the single squares thinking I was supposed to make a big cluster lol That's my fault though.
This works surprisingly well, and I like the "reload" sound. I got hooked for a bit trying to get a high score.
I get that the bullet upgrades are to incentivize you to traverse the level, but I could ignore them for the most part. I wish there was a stronger reason to move around. 48 hours isn't a lot of time, but maybe have parts of the match-3 blocked by terrain or enemies? Just spit-balling.
I like the game, I think this could be very addicting!

Nice fulfilling game. All aspects of it are well executed and well polished. Good job!

Awesome :D For next levels or further gameplay it would be awesome to see more of the cube grids spawn and maybe move around as well? Only criticism would be that the movement felt a bit weird :)
Nice! Although I don't like so much that minecraft-like aesthetic, it is a funny game well executed. Well done!!
(If you like, give a try to my entry https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/jammer-tank, thanks!)
This is actually pretty addicting! Nice genre mix :)
Cool game, the idea is just great. The graphics are nice and simple, I like that. The way the blocks come in shows a little love to detail. It's amazing how you brought such completely different themes together :)

Great game idea, when playing I kept on having the urge to beat my previous high score. An issue I came across was that it was easy enough to stay in one place to pick up ammo instead of running around to collect it.
Cool game, i love the voxel graphics that have you maked. Nice ganre mix! The only bar is the no-auto reloading.lkun.png
If you want you can try my game on this link: [Scarry](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/scarry)
Nice idea. The mix of those genres work well enough, but I wish there was more to it, like: enemies, more interesting hazards, power ups, other block types, etc. I understand that this a compo entry, but a post jam version would be interesting.
Great job anyway.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! It's super useful and great to hear you've enjoyed my little game! To those whose games I've not played yet, i'm slowly getting to all of them on my lunch breaks and evenings!
@R4ndomThunder thanks for the feedback, i'd toyed with the idea of auto-reloading, i may put that as a toggle option. I'll definitely get to yours & everyone elses games who's commented soon! I have a huge list i'm slowly getting through!
@NyanMatt Thanks buddy! Definitely agree, i think i'd definitely like to take another stab at balancing it.
@DerLasseHenrich Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it! I really had a great time making it!
@facepalmpt Thanks! I hope you didn't get too addicted :-)
@Sfey Thanks for the feedback, the movement is fairly out of the box character controllers which i tweaked a bunch - i'd love to give another pass on it to get things feeling tighter. Great suggestion too on moving cubes!
@Poorwill Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed playing!
@obachuka great idea with the terrain! If i take the game further that'd definitely be the direction i want to take it with parts of the terrain being a puzzle in themselves. Great point about there not being enough incentive for moving around, i thought about having turrets "protecting" the match 3 tower but ran out of time but that might be something interesting to experiment with to see if that ups the pace.
@Yetman Thanks, customisable controls would definitely be something i'd love to add - i'm all for increasing accessibility to more player preferences! :-)
@Olivier Millochau Your English was perfect, thank you for your lovely feedback! Dang, thanks for spotting the bug, i don't have access to my home PC so i can't get to it but i'll add a note to the page. I'm happy you enjoyed it!
@TomekS Ah i knew it couldn't be completely bug free haha! Thanks for the feedback, great suggestions which i think could add a lot.
@Matt-Christian Thanks mate! Much appreciated and i'm glad you liked the announcer, Unreal was exactly what i had in mind when i was recording!
@Yanek I'm glad you gave it another chance and very much appreciate the feedback! Hopefully i can tweak the future iterations to encourage that kind of speed and gameplay even more.
Thanks again everyone! <3
Thanks @cassio-eduardo - i'd definitely like to add more hazards & obstacles to incentivize faster movement and quicker, ever-changing play as i continue to work on it!
Nice idea! In my opinion the level duration is too short.. funny game anyway and cool graphics!

Neat game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgRYnPldaL4
