Really fun one that gave me Joust vibes (which way too few games do these days). Also love how juicy dying feels - BLAM!
A five star game! Amazing work!
One of my favorites so far, Ill definitely check the source code as well, very impressive
Liked the game, found a bit difficult to reach some platforms, but as someone in the comments said, lots of Joust feelings floating around :D Great work :)
Gameplay kept getting more in-depth which is what I liked!
I think the difficulty was too hard for a jam game and the audio could use some work. Well done!
Nice retro feel! The spritework is impressive! Cool weapons!
Nice stuff. Really feels like an old arcady game. Super polished too with lots of content.
Really fun! and it has scoreboards!! I was a big fan. I thought the projectiles from bad guys were a bit much, but it was still really fun! one of my favorites.
@patsui You might be right about the difficulty. I wanted players to engage in the blocking mechanics as well as attacking, so the projectile rate is Real, but the rewards for parrying them are pretty sweet too.
Nice deeply retro experience right down to the unforgiving controls. I don't want the "unforgiving" to feel like a criticism, it is (just like the deeply retro pixel art) right on point for the game design and felt great. Nice entry!
Great entry and fun to play. Love the animation of the explosion.
As a note the MacOS version doesn't work, this tends to be an issue with Godot, that a Mac version has to be compiled on MacOS. I tried to run from source but it has missing dependencies.
@paroxysmal ah, that explains it! Dang. First time with Godot, I didn't know that.
Very cool graphics and sound design, plays really nice, the only problem I had I couldnt get used to the controls for a while, maybe its better on a controller :) The leaderboard is a very nice addition!
BTW Since you used Godot you can easily export a HTML5 version :)
I like how much combat this game managed to squeeze into a weekend. There are lots of different maneuvers and I like the idea of discrete rooms. It also seemed like I could get bonus points by getting more coins. I didnt initially like the keyboard controls but with some remapping they would have been fine, and I thought there was a certain floatiness in some of the jumping moves but all of that would be ironed out easily and I liked it overall. Its a cool game with lots of neat combat. Nice work!
@paroxysmal and @madjackmcmad Good news: I got this working on mac just now. I'm on Mac OS X Big Sur 11.5.2 on a 2017 macbook pro. I moved it to my desktop and then ran these two commands and then it worked great: ``` sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine "/path-to-game/Godot\ Testing.app" sudo xattr -cr "/path-to-game/Godot\ Testing.app"```
I hope it works for you and others too.
The game is quite fun. I really like the art style. The online high score is a very nice touch.
Very nice and fun game, I liked the retro art style and overall mechanics.
Very good game. Art is great and the animations are smooth. Controlls could be a bit more flued and some music would make the game complete but still best game i have played so far.
@pvp I finally, *finally*, got on top. Barely. Your turn ;)
@madjackmcmad haha challenge accepted.
Really awesome game! The combat felt good and the animations are well done
For a compo game the fighting and animations felt well fleshed out! I liked the extra stuff you added like the parry and how attacking/blocking in midair kept you floating in the air a bit more. It felt kind of hard to kill the enemies quickly enough once I reached the "unstable" levels but maybe I wasn't doing it right. Great job overall!
Very cute game. Lovely art and animations! Fighting the projectile monsters felt a bit annoying. Some of the controls like the down+attack seemed very unintuitive.
Really nice game and great mechanics. Damn I now wish I also added online highscore...
@chesiq Check it out here: http://dreamlo.com/ I've dropped it into Unity and Godot as well, shouldn't take you very much to get it running.
Great game! I love the art and animations, the gameplay is great, well done!
Very nice game. I love your style.
Always love the arcade-y feel of your games.
Really impressive amount of content for the compo. I think the movement feels a bit janky, specially the jump which feels very linear. Sometimes when you do a jump attack it comes out the wrong way.
Other than that the game is pretty fun, great job.
@cassio-eduardo Thank you! Yeah this is the first time I went platformer instead of topdown shooty, and there's some places where the polish is lacking. Those airattacks aren't the very best, lessons learned for next time!
