love the emoji-style visuals, also simple yet thrilling gameplay!
Great game, really picks up pace by level three, would love the sound of grumbling people as you worked.
Nice concept. The inputs could be much more simplified with just click to move though. Some tooltips inside the game might help the player to figure out what to do. Good effort overall. :)
Love the finished build! Could do with some 8-bit music but the metal detector is a LIFE SAVER
Really fun! It would be awesome if you made a multiplayer mode to this
Cool!
This would make a great party game :) It was very easy to get really into it so good job on that front.
Was expecting bombs, did not get disappointed. You added a good bit of depth to this concept, well done.
Was really cool following the development of this game. The game is a fun but hectic little thing and as some say, a multiplayer would be hilarious.
It has a nice overcooked (cool party game) feeling :) ! Good job ! My one complaint is how the rules are explained, via a heavy text menu, but seeing the limited amount of time we devs have it's already better than nothing :) !!
Quite a fun game.
This has the beginnings of an Overcooked-style chaotic sorting game, really neat! I feel like the current pace is a little slow, especially in the earlier levels I was waiting around more than desperately trying to keep on top of things. But the mechanics are great, the movement controls are exactly right and it's great fun to run around hurling boxes to where they need to be. Nice work!
Have a very strong overcooked vibe to this game. Very intense and very fun
Pros: - Visual is very nice, attention to details (different package size, timers on the packages, etc.) - Explosion! - Graphical instruction is great! - Interesting level designs in higher levels
Cons: - Bomb disposal drop are is not detecting properly when the package is stuck on the container - It is impossible to survive level4 :P - Would love a multiplayer mode
Overall, well done! Love it!
This is super fun! I like the isometric presentation and the simplified models. The gameplay is very well done, and has a surprising amount of depth. This would be amazing with multiplayer! I did think the movement was a little slow, especially when changing direction, and I had some trouble placing boxes into the scanner. I would love to see this polished and released as a full game in the future!
Sets the mood! It's hectic and I love it. There seem to be a couple bugs with bomb disposal detection though, making you lose without a bomb timer visual.
It made me think of overcooked, this game would shine with multiplayer. Just sitting on the couch with some friends trying to find all the bombs!
Overall it's one of the better games I played, you kept it simple and yet got a very distinct core mechanic that draws people in.
@jackyjjc @star-sought @dries-vuylsteke @d-fect-inc Nailed it! I want to add multiplayer for some fun local couch play. Controllers and shared screen multiplayer co-op could make this really fun.
@predominant for some reason little text popups with angry/happy faces seems really appropriate in this game. I'm looking forward to see what you make out of this, do you have a page we can follow your development?
@dries-vuylsteke I've placed it on GameJolt, you can follow it there: https://gamejolt.com/games/ld42/360670
Fun game. I like the style - reminds me of Little Big Adventure. I really liked the exploding parcels touch. It's a shame you have to dispose of them because it's very satisfying when you don't haha.
Sweet game, I like the isometric camera and straight artstyle. The instruction-screen needs some work though. I felt like it added more confusion to my first attempt. I started to put every package on the inspection table instead of just handing them out.
However the game is easy to learn while playing, so my consecutive attempts were way better.
I would like it if the time for the early levels wasn't as long though - I think it would fit the game to have the individual levels getting progressively longer and instead have the time/gameplay get faster while in the level to keep things clogging everything up and adding to the chaos. Not having anyone ordering a package gives the gameplay pause and breaks the gameplayloop a bit. :D
Movement feels a little sluggish imo, but really nice game!
Had great expectations after looking at this, but it seemed to slow. The movement was the fluid and great concept if you had time to expand more. It wasn't really fun due to its slowness and got bored too fast. The game has the potential for future development.
Love the art and character models, nice match with the theme too.
Really fun to play! They only "criticism" I can give is that the game is kinda slow and it would be more hectic and fun if the order came in faster
The game has a really nice consistent graphical style. It could easily be mistaken for a game you'd find on a platform like Steam. Really great job on that!
The concept is cool but unless you checked the instructions you may miss some of the features, such as the inspection table. I just started the game immediately and was pleasently surprised to find a bomb exploding my nice box heap. Someone really has it out for this place!
I have a few suggestions for improvements: - Make the game about 50 or so percent faster. It may just be my craptop, but the game seems to run in semi-slow motion. I wish the game was just a bit faster in general. - Allow the player to walk around the center of the camera without being tracked 1 to 1. It feels a bit constraining.
Good game!
Cool game ! Maybe you should make it more hectic ? (a higher speed and a music) More, I think that the keys of the keybord is not really accurate to take packages, Maybe you should make the player able to use the mouse to turn around ? Plus, I just had three bombs and when one exploded, an other flew away somwhere I cannot take it.
But the concept is really nice and even if I said "bad" things, I found it enjoyable ^^ Keep coding :)
Very sweet game, looks great as well. Has a very overcooked-like feeling to it :)
What I found a tad disappointing was that there were not always enough requests, my packages would build up and the only thing I still had to do was to pick up a correct color and deliver it.
Something I found really great and what perhaps might go unnoticed, the controls are really great. Especially the package pickup. The game always knew wat package I wanted to move and put it correctly in my hands. Even if I stood in the middle of a mountain of packages, it would always pick out the one I intended to take.
So, awesome game and great concept! Not super sure what it has to do with running out of space but a great game to play nonetheless! :)
Having worked in a factory before, it's too real. I need to go have a lie down.
A bit too slow paced compared to what I was expecting, and it's sometimes hard to "aim" (which might be intentional), but great entry. A lot of work went into it and it shows :)
Solid game. Kept for later replay. The only thing I did not like is the slow reacting physics. I would not mind for example if moving around was more responsive (more friction) and also if the packages would stick more precisely on the various places. It felt that I was trying to do the right thing but the avatar would not react quickly enough.
Regardless the depth and complexity of the mechanics is astonishing for such a short period of time. The combination of states for a package felt rather balanced. Also I love how you were able to get so much out of the simple graphics but still keep the player in the universe of an airport.
Also liked how the packages pile up eventually. Made me smile.
I had know idea how many bombs there are around these kind of facilities. Now I will appreciate the annoying controls on the airport even more! :airplane_small:
My scores: 547, 359, 475, 389
Wonder if this game would be easier to control if up weren't up but north, as it sometimes is hard to place things with the isometric style (especially on the inspection table). Also it would have been nice if picking up one of many nearby boxes was prioritized by [timed orders/bombs] > [unscanned box] > [other].
Other than these nit-picky improvements I think this is a good looking fun hectic game, loved it.
Thank you for joining my stream and sharing your game with me on my stream at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames
I do think it has a lot of potential.
You can re-watch for my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297054468
Wish it all had a slightly faster pace. The first level I found myself just waiting for orders or more boxes a lot of the time. After that jumped to the last level and had a lot more fun. Great entry.
A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)
@awix Music should be improved? Can you explain?
Good effort, sometimes wasd can be awkward in isometric but otherwise had fun!
Nice game! I really like the graphical style you went for but I feel like the player could move a little faster or accellerate faster instead of an increased top speed but good work!
Nice! I really liked the stressful situation that you get into while playing the game. Also liked how you managed the game elements in every level. The only that i didnt like were the sounds, they are very annoying, maybe adding some kind of background sound or music could make them less invasive. :urn:
Awesome feedback @cnb @connorthompson and @lndrstrll - Thanks!
I really like the gameplay, nice work!
Nice work!
Gameplay is surprisingly fun and I love the level design. At the same time I was not able to beat the game. Some levels take a lot of time and there are no relief points (e.g. boxes stop spawn for 10-15 seconds, so I can clean up and organize the stuff).
Here is my playtest:

@icxon You did *amazingly* well on level3! Whoa! Nice playthrough video!
Interesting idea, I really love the level 2. I think lvl 2 is most fits the game. Bomb mechanic is working. Maybe it will be more interesting with coop multiplayer, like Overcooked.
Solid game. The movement is a little weird because it's isometric and sometimes it will launch other boxes over the costumer's side.
Good job.
Nicely done. Great base mechanics. An amazing job for the short 48h period.
Areas that could benefit from tweaking: - walking around should have more facets, maybe a speedup like in overcooked would be nice - making all the requests actually be achievable would be nice, sometimes it is a little bit frustrating to not fulfil one without any fault - the running out of space part is not really a problem, a better tension would be nice there too. E.g. maybe pakets turn stale and need to be cleared out etc.
Good job :) .. and I like the graphic :) you could try ours, it's kind of the same idea :)
I liked the look and style of this game. However, I'm not a fan of reading walls to text as a prerequesite to play a game. It seems like there were way too many mechanics lumped in at the beginning of the game. I would start out with having the player deliver a few packages to the matching colors at the beginning, then on the next level add the brown packages, then the next level add bombs. I would also shorten the level time to 60 seconds or less. It also took me a while to realize that the required package colors were in the upper left corner of the screen. I would move them down next to the customers where you deliver the packages.
This is really polished for a compo game!
FUN: I had a lot of fun with this one! The controls were a little weird; one suggestion would be to use mouse point and click to pick up packages, which would also offset the long play sessions. The bins for bomb disposal and package inspection could be a bit bigger as well. I gave it a 3.5/5.
INNOVATION: I don't think I've ever seen a package inspection game for Ludum Dare (though I haven't played many of the games this time around). I gave 3/5 for innovation due to the well-balanced mechanics.
THEME: While I don't think that the theme allowed for much unique interpretation, putting your game in a border security office gets you another 3/5.
GRAPHICS: The graphics were well done and felt polished. I think a little bit more polygons would have made a huge difference, along with a bit of ambient lighting. That said, I think this game would run well on lower-end PCs. 3/5
HUMOR: While the premise made me chuckle a bit, the game itself wasn't humorous. 1/5
MOOD: I don't think this category applies here. 1/5
OVERALL: I gave it 3.5/5 (actually on the higher end of all the games I've rated). It's a solid entry and very impressive for only 48 hours, and by yourself, too!
Good job, I had fun with it!
