Nothing about this game way compelling except the mere puzzle itself, which took me several minutes to figure out. I REALLY enjoyed playing it.

love the emoji-style visuals, also simple yet thrilling gameplay!
this caught me off guard (probably as it was supposed to). Not exactly fun to play, but great job on the graphics and atmosphere in general.
Interesting "micro management" mechanics!
This game is hilarious, there are funny details and nice metaphors going on, its also really large and didn't produce any serious bugs.
Great main menu, also loved the sound effects and music (nice composition!)
Don't really see how nose-picking is connected to the theme though, or why you'd pick boogers off a gray screen with squares growing in all corners.
Nice graphics, funny dialogue, good submission overall. Would be way better if you wouldn't have to go through the dialogue over and over again, also gets super hard really quick!
Really well done graphics and solid mechanics, but the goal should be made more clear, took me some time to understand it (even though its written on the screen lol)
Congrats to your first LD game!
The mechanics are solid, but its hard to see where exactly the tiles are because they are hovering above the ground and the shadow has an offset. Also lacks a theme/story, right now its just a white thingy on a green thingy.
Great art! The controls where a bit wonky for a platformer, but it was still fun to play and really challenging. My highscore after several tries was around 20.000! At one point I had to dive into the black goo, which was hard without transparency.
At first I was confused and annoyed by the mechanics ("walking is a special ability??"), then I understood the concept and really started to enjoy it.
Similar to the experience of trying to get through a crowd in reality: super frustrating, but cool for a game like this!
Not so sure about the whole gun mechanics, first it seems pretty cruel and extreme, also weird that nobody is trying to run away. Second it doesn't work when people are directly in front of you, which is even more frustrating. Would have prefered the ability to push over shooting a gun.
Nice introduction to the mechanics, but after that it just gets really hard, too frustrating imo. Nice "squash and stretch" on that jumping animation, good job!
Charming visuals and nice non-obvious interpretation of the theme!
Love the song and the cheap sound effects, except for the wubwubwubwubwub which is really annoying. Also not sure why I should collect spoons.
Great topic for a game. Fun mechanics, especially the possibility to upgrade. Controls are a bit rough and frustrating. Starts out too easy then quickly gets to hard, could be more balanced! Overall good game
@do-the-dog-avc thanks for the feedback, currently trying to solve the memory issue (only happening on WebGL)
@chocolat-endive You're a true hero! I wonder what the absolute maximum is. Since the level is generated, I have no idea, but I suspect that you can't get over 600.
@maximebou In order to keep it fast paced, the score increases the farther you move away from the start position, thats why your score can also decrease if you move towards the start! Could be more obvious, so thanks for the feedback! 492 is really good
@ditzel I guess melting ice was a pretty obvious interpretation of the theme, so there are even more games with that setting. Going to try your version soon :)
@ghust1995 thanks for the feedback, I share the opinion that it doesnt make much sense in the narrative, but I wanted to create an incentive to move and also give "competitive" gamers a challenge
All in all, one of the best entries i've played so far. Very good controls, nice unconventional mix of two genres.. It seems a bit too challenging to actually put together rows of blocks, but its not completely unfair. The gargoyle sprites are really outstanding, but the main character and the intro screen don't reach this level of quality.
WOWW thats a great game, especially for a single dev. The characters are adorable and all of the choices are very relatable. Have my stars.
Oh boy, the "game" is no fun at all, but its one of the best entries I've played so far.
Theres a lot of talking in the beginning, some of that might not be necessary, and the lines change too quickly for me to read sometimes., and I'm not sure if you need to go through THAT many questions to make the point at the end. But overall, the presentation is amazing, good job, highest rating so far.
The "kiss" mechanic seems so out of place, but I love it. Cool animations! my Highscore: 340
First I thought it was broken, but the controls are just hard, I liked playing it after some practise. Great visuals, fitting music, overall good presentation!
I died because of too few cigarettes?? lol
The concept is very similar to my own Compo game, so it was fun to see this done a different way. The controls were a bit confusing at first, but I like that there are different scenes to convey the activities.
The music is really annoying, would've been better without!
Great visuals and mood, but the gameplay isn't really obvious nor challenging. Reminded me of "Organ Trail"
I love all the detail in the different viruses & bacteria, but the core mechanic is hard to understand. Do I slam into them by clicking towards them or do I click the opposite direction and then come back? Also living negative amounts of years is kinda dumb :)
I tried to play it, but its too broken:
- The scroll speed in the start menu is so slow, it takes a few minutes to scroll until you can hit the start button. Super annoying but easy to fix!
- the camera pans to the side at the start of the game and only reacts to mouse input in a specific spot on the top right corner
The few seconds I was able to play were pretty promising tho, I'd love to give it another try later, I hope you can fix the bugs. Won't rate it now. :)
Also kudos to you, I wasn't remotely able to do any of this at the age of 14, good job, keep going!!
Interesting idea, I like the character change mechanic, leaves room for a lot of fun ideas on top of that. Unfortunately I couldn't make it past the second level. Also I feel like the running speed is way too low.
I liked the hand drawn graphics as well as the turn based mechanics, lets you play it at your own pace. Some sort of hit indication would be nice, I died a few times without knowing if I actually hit an enemy. Also the stats are hard to recognize in the top corner. Also needs some sort of ending, I killed everyone and explored everything, didn't find any exit or boss.
I enjoyed the concept of stacking things in a stable way, but the UI is a bit clunky!
Love the simple mechanics! Couldn't get past the 3rd level because I couldn't plant the mushroom, maybe a bug or I'm too dumb :) The jump sound was very annoying!
Insanely well done visuals, very consistent and polished. Sound is a bit much but cool as well. Was a bit lost on the mechanics but still had lots of fun with this one
great overall, particularly good animations! Love the constant danger. One of the best I've played in this LD
What a great game this is! Enjoyable mechanics, consistent graphics, amazing audio/voice! Easily won the first round though, so could be more challenging!
Great mix of card duel and tile based mechanics, I have not seen this before. Visually great for a compo game, but lacks consistency. Overall a bit too ambitious and therefor lacks polish (e.g. UI), but amazing for a prototype.
@Anonymous the single arrow is kind of pointless. Originally I planned to have light rays so there would be an incentive to grow in a specific direction, but I ended up with simple system where two leaves in a row produce less, so the single arrow can at least be used to avoid this.
@arscene Thank you! Not a bug, while fruit are growing, it drains energy (the bar on the bottom is not a timer). Once the fruit is ripe, this stops, until you harvest and new fruit is grown. Still thinking about how to make this clearer without putting labels on things
Amazing visuals and effects, solid mechanics, pretty tricky! Wish my spaceship had a booster (maybe one of the upgraded ones has one? Didn't make it that far)
Simple and nice. Too easy, got 100% on first try because a lack of variation = no surprises. Overall great fun!
The mechanics are more addictive than I first assumed, highscore so far 39!
Innovative mechanic and polished UI! Took me some time to get used to the controls
Had to laugh a lot. Graphics and Sound are amazing, well done!
Amazing controls, gave me proper Mario 64 vibes. Also enjoyed the visual style. Doesn't fit the Theme too well though!
Solid mechanics, fits the theme and is fun to play. Especially liked the music. Not very innovative but 8 levels is a lot of content, gj!
Very complex for such a short time to make, hats off to you! The only thing that I found weird is the FPS view and the tools resembling guns, gave me the opposite vibe of the soothing music. PS: Love the fact that you can actually watch the plants grow!
Great back story and extra points for those sound effects lol. Also the first time I see someone figured out how to embed their game into this clunky content management system, you must be a wizard!
"An illuminating reflection on the authentic struggle behind the iconic facade of pirate life" - The Guardian
amazing graphics (bomb explosion!), solid gameplay, especially the tripple shot, score second try: 158
What a nice game! The graphics are beautiful and read clearly, easy to understand the concept. Great sound plus the option to turn it off. Overall a bit too easy, won the first time and dont see a reason to play again.
