Fun randomly generated roguelike, i recommend having exterior tiles colored differently than dungeon tiles.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → Pay with your life

Great art (Seriously). This game reminds me my first rough-like =)
It's hard to tell what the difference between health and life is, as well as what's hitting you and if you're hitting the creatures. The random generation is pretty cool though. Also, your sword's durability doesn't reset on death.
Cool game though! I love roguelikes, and the art style is cute
Nice game, I didn't get to Diablo but I will keep on trying!
I really enjoy the look of the art. At first it was very jarring, but it grew on me very quickly (especially the stairs).
The game felt a bit unfinished, and it was a bit difficult to see what was happening. But the idea and art style was good.
At the beginning i didnt know there is any difference between HP and LIFE. The rules arent really well explained. However it is fun and reminds me about ASCII roguelikes (but ofc without ASCII :) ).
Yup, nice little game once you get the mechanics. I lasted until level 6. The only thing I'd add is some sort of tooltip so you don't have to continuously pick up weapons to compare them. Solid!
It lacks graphic polishing as well as a better outline of the events and actions (it's a little messy sometimes) HP and LIFE concept a bit confusing.
I liked the roguelike gameplay and the overall feeling.
good work!
I quite like the pencil-sketch art style. I think the game would have really benefited from some audio cues but for a 48 hour game, this is good!
Crazy that you did this without frameworks. Nice job.
Only remark like other people pointed out: lack of visual aids on interations with mobs.
@moonlens Thanks for the recommendation! I can't wait to start coloring everything!
@zimennik omg you're too nice. I hope to keep getting better at drawing.
@danga Thanks for pointing out the two issues. I will make it a priority to find a way to solve it.
@furtive-pygmy I'm so sorry! I really wish I had time to implement something that epic!
@star-garden way too kind. I don't deserve it! <3
@jk5000 I hear you. Polishing is a major weakness for me but someday! someday...
@xcvzxc Yeah I try really hard not to explain too much on purpose because you telling me that you don't understand really helps me know where I need to focus. Thank you so much!
@paul59 Yeah I know what you mean but the issue is I didn't want to rely on mouse overs but I also didn't want to create too many steps for picking up weapons. If you have other ideas, please let me know! Thanks
@memel06 Thanks for your kind words! I'm still working on my drawing fundamentals so I'm not really confident in making polished art. I hope when I get better, I will come back and polish the art up :)
@b3agz Yes normally I would add audio but since this is my first time making a rogue-like, the random map generation was really challenging for me and ate a lot of my time up. I learned a lot and hopefully better judge my ability and use my time more wisely so I can still squeeze in some audios.
@evogengames Thanks for your comment! I will definitely work on it.
I liked the hand drawn graphics as well as the turn based mechanics, lets you play it at your own pace. Some sort of hit indication would be nice, I died a few times without knowing if I actually hit an enemy. Also the stats are hard to recognize in the top corner. Also needs some sort of ending, I killed everyone and explored everything, didn't find any exit or boss.
@diesdas Thanks for your nice comments! I will definitely take your suggestions to heart!
Great work @heyitsleo! I really love that you did it without an engine and that it's all vanilla JS. Also really dug the art style! Thanks for letting us play and keep up the good work!
