Interesting mechanics, but I was a bit lost playing it. I never fully understood the order and rules of the game. Rounds were changing without me knowing it. But maybe that's because of a lack of sleep.

Quite a complex game for a compo, nice work ! I feel the world could be a little bit more aggressive, but IA is tough in a game jam. The board + card system is cool and easy to understand.
Some cards seem to have the wrong effect (notably a golden card named "Ray of Light" who *removes* one sunlight point). Also, the difficulty was very forgiving and I was sometimes lost regarding when the turn ends/my actions on the deck.
Otherwise, the mechanics are very cool and that's a very good start for a complete game!
it's a bit complicated for me, but I can see a good basis in the system, I also like the very literal title!
Great job with this game. I also made a card/dice game and know how hard it can be to make one and then try to explain how to play.
I like this but one bug I found was that you are in an infinite game over loop when you hit game over, like you try to play again but it just gives game over. I just refreshed to play again
@cagibi - Thanks for finding the bug! I've noted in the itch.io page for future players.
I didn't understand why I would use the negative cards, because wasn't my objective to raise the stats of the plants and then harvest them. I liked the idea of competing over the same plants though.
@verttixpertti - Most of the plants only scored points in the middle of the range. Because of this, there are times where reducing a stat was the right move. Goes to show that I could have made the instructions more clear. Thanks for playing!
The art and vision for this game was pretty inspiring. I loved the originality in the board game take, but I think some more audio and balancing of the mechanics make this game addictive. I did get lost at the beginning of what I was supposed to do, but it could be my lack of reading and illiteracy. Heh. Great add to the competition. It was cool playing this.
I liked the complex mechanics, but I felt like the earth should of done more to add challenge. Also, maybe harvesting could be done automatically after each turn instead of being a card.
I love card games, and this was a fun one. The AI is pretty forgiving so it becomes more about making sure those damn trees get the proper amount of sunlight/water/temperature to get a high score than actually progressing through the levels, although unlocking new trees was cool. A couple nitpicks I have:
* The apple tree's sunlight rating is a little bit weird, maybe the X and dash are inverted there?
* It looks smooth, but I think the animation bringing up the trees info could be sped up a bit considering it's the main thing you interact with.
* I don't quite get how the discard/draw deck buttons work, it let me draw cards until I had like 10 in hand at which point my hand seemed to bug out (https://i.imgur.com/uatGqS7.png), and it also gave me points.
The graphics are pleasant to look at and I enjoyed the humor in all the trees little taglines. The lack of sound is a shame but of course this is a pretty complete game for a compo so it's hard to blame you. Overall this is a game that doesn't need much more work to become really fun, in my opinion, just some balance tweaks to the AI and cards distribution and some bugfixes. Nice work!

I managed to beat the world too on my second try, on the first try the world got me, I couldn't get that one bonsai enough water and the world took it all. I liked the gameplay loop and the stat management of this game a lot, the tactical aspect of trying to maximize the gain from each card based on which trees are on the field, and tradeoffs when you have to take a small hit on one tree to harvest others, I liked those, I had some hype moments there in level 6 where things just perfectly worked out. Very fun, I got incredibly immersed and drawn in while picking out cards, always immediately went into the next round too to stay in that flow. Very cool take on the theme, great job making this game!
@feor - Thanks so much for the in depth feedback! I was really hoping to have time for a more difficult AI, sounds/music and some more mechanics (pushing plants in different directions to optimize the area of effect cards). Time got away from me, though. Really appreciate the thoughtfulness in your reply!
@captaindreamcast - Glad you liked it! There are definitely some flashes of what I was imagining in my head, but will need a lot more polish. So happy to hear that the core loop was solid enough to keep playing. Thanks for your detailed comment!
Hello! I love the idea of your game but the UI and rules are a bit confusing. Plus they ratio is kinda weird on my screen and I cant look at the whole game at once unless I open it full window. The art is lovely though your game feels like a sunny day!
this was an interesting and fun game. i think having an icon for what attribute the card is affecting would make it easier to look through the cards
Great mix of card duel and tile based mechanics, I have not seen this before. Visually great for a compo game, but lacks consistency. Overall a bit too ambitious and therefor lacks polish (e.g. UI), but amazing for a prototype.
@diesdas - Thanks for the feedback! Agreed that it was too ambitious. That is a recurring theme for my jam scopes. I needed another 24 hours for the polish. Appreciate you playing my game!
Pretty cool! It got a little repetitive so I stopped after 3 matches though. I don't think The Worlds managed to harvest a single thing, take that, world!
When I clicked on the discard or draw pile something weird happened, maybe it was using the (unrevealed?) card in that spot, wasn't sure, but it ate up my action points doing so ^_^. I liked trying to figure out where I could put some area effect to help what I was going for without hurting other things too much - maybe it would have been more fun if _all_ of the cards were area target, no single target cards.
Very cool cards competition!
Impressive that you managed to create such an intricate system is such short time!
