@mattpattie2: Sorry! It got late (stayed up until submission hour) and I didn't want to wait for the builds (web especially takes forever on this computer) and spend time making the page look nice with screenshots and so on so I just left it and went to sleep and then some stuff got in the way. All fixed up now, finally! c:
Absolutely excellent. As a man known for his work with shaders, I can say that the graphics here are impressive. Some good writing in this one too and you're right: It's pretty close to real life, i.e. a horror story filled with never-ending chores and requirements. In that, you've made a great game and a social commentary at the same time. Great stuff!
Holy crap this is great. mood's perfect and really captures the experience of day to day life when you're living alone. reminded me of when i was living alone for a while in college
Eerily close to real life! minus the expensive rent bills and diet of pizza! quite fun and actually difficult to balance out the tasks, accidentally overslept and lost my job by day 6, couldnt find a new job on the laptop and then had both the pizza and rent man outside the door for most of day 7, hoped the rent man would go away at some point and slowly starved to death while peeking through the door and seeing the valuable pizza but out of reach!
Now this is a horror game! Great job, love the little interactions and mood.
This game creeped the hell out of me! I love the art. Good job!
haha just spent about 15 mins playing it and got strangely addicted
Very unique and creative art style, it gave the whole game a very eerie vibe.
Played through it twice. First time the trash got me (is there a way to clean up the pizza boxes?). The next I got evicted which actually gave me a scare when he walked in . Esthetics are really cool and that mixed with the atmospheric audio sets a really creepy mood.
Thanks, everyone!
@silkworm-sweatshop: You're the second one to express confusion about that—I wonder if maybe apartment buildings with trash chutes in the stairwell aren't as universally common as they are where I am? :p And of course not everyone has lived in an apartment anyway. Where I live we actually can't use it (it's locked) but there still is one, heh.
@ava-skoog I am familiar with the "sopnedkast" but they're closed up in most places these days. However I didn't know I could leave the apartment in game, except to go to work.
@silkworm-sweatshop: You can't, but it's right outside the door. p:
This has a great atmosphere and nails the feeling of loneliness, overall the presentation is fantastic. The gameplay is simple and executed pretty well.
Awesome job.
The vibes of a stressful life is really nailed, the graphics are great. good game !
This game has the best atmosphere / mood I've seen. I love the graphics style, I don't how you achieved such beautiful "painting" effect. The sound are great too, and it's a very immersive experience.
Your take on the theme is very original too, the horror of daily routine.
Congrats on your entry!
Thanks a lot! <3 After finally having had the time to try the game out myself for real and watching some other people play it, I've uploaded an updated version with some bug fixes now.
@drludos: Shaders and textures! c:
What a fascinating game. The unsettling mood set by the music and the graphics is really well done. It's definitely a memorable game. Only problem, I couldn't get to work so I always ended up fired and evicted cause I couldn't pay my bills. Anyway, great game, congratulations !
Wow good job! Great effects and sounds. I've lost because I couldn't sleep because hygiene bar was to low. But I couldn't get my hygiene back probably because my sleep bar was to low :'(.
@pndaa: Dang it, I thought I'd fixed that issue! Will look at it again!
Dark and depressing, but really good! I loved the visual style, the concept, and playing it was exciting. The bill collector actually scared me! This should do well on mood.
@pndaa: Should be good now!
Thanks again, everyone! c: There isn't really a win state to this game, so it really is about how long you can last.
I'm died because pizza delivery was late for a few hours ;c. Good life simulator ;D!
This was really eerie, and the game's aesthetic is very unique. The movement felt kind of weird, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. Great job!
Nice entry! I love the pizza man's voice! He went "PIZZA." It was so satisfying to order pizza because of it. Overall, pretty good graphics and the mood really was eerie!
This game has some unique graphics and the mood was great. I wish the difficulty started a bit easier and increased as time progresses. I'd also like to be able to go shopping/eat food fromt the refrigerator instead of ordering pizza. Don't get me wrong. I love pizza, but having more food choices would make it more interesting. Loved the sounds too.
This game was quite creepy, actually, and that bills guy scared me for a second. I was honestly surprised that I liked it. Nice game.
The game is creepy and it makes you tense. Really cool and loved to survive. I don't wanna become an adult
Fantastic concept that would work great as a dream sequence as part of a bigger game. I feel like it ought to focus a little more on the horror and expand that a little bit, though. Solid experience.
Really great! I loved the graphics, the game seems polished. My only criticism is about the controls in keyboard, I think the standard first person controls would be better here. Good job!
Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional
Very interesting game. I'd hope my team could get a few more reviews in before the comp ends, so here's my game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/unnamed-game
I really loved the graphics, music, and sound in your game. The atmosphere was brilliant.
Glad I had time to come try this, it had a great atmosphere! I genuinely found it so stressful though, I starved to death twice because I couldn't bring myself to leave the pizza box out - I had to throw it away as soon as I had eaten. Just collapsed of hunger in a perfectly neat empty house. Where is was most like real life for me was trying to fit stuff in and realising I was going to bed later and later. I think never sleeping and only eating pizza is a terrifying window into what single life would be like for me
Wow, that was challenging. I played through twice, the first time I got evicted and the second time I starved to death. Surprisingly I didn't need any real tutorial which is surprising for jam games because most NEED them. This was pretty intuitive. The art style was super unique and really added to the creepy vibe.
Really great entry, it gives new meaning to survival - horror.
I don't like horrors (or real life for that matter  ), but this was actually really captivating and the tax guy scared the living hell outta me. The peephole + the knocking is extremely paranoia-inducing, in otherwords, the mood is incredibly on point! The visuals sell the whole expirience. There's artifacting (like double edges), but that might have been on purpose as it somewhat enhanced the style. The only knock against the look would be the red vignette. If it were blurred, it might have been better. The controls take a bit of getting used to (rotating using the arrows as opposed to the mouse) and felt super slow, which once again, is probably as intended as getting to the door took some time and I was getting anxious even though I knew it's just the pizza guy.
Overall, it definitely stands out amongs other entries for me it's the winner in the mood category.
BTW. On my 3rd try I just barely made it to Day 5 :smirk: 2018-05-15 21_19_57-Window.png
