bongard22 2018-08-14 02:23

Fantastically well polished and built out. I wish the pathfinding was more consistent and/or controllable. Everything else was awesome though!!

benjamin-l 2018-08-14 04:01

The mechanic of trying to isolate the blobs on one side while avoiding trapping yourself is pretty cool. It would possibly be better with more easily predictable movement of the enemies though. I also ran into a situation where I had split the field in two pieces, but neither of them fell down, so I was stuck. scrot.jpg Other than that this is a cool game. I really like the music and sounds!

prodigalson 2018-08-14 04:11

@bongard22, @benjamin-l thanks for playing and for the feedback. Looks like the decision to make the enemies follow you, then chose a random direction, rinse/wash/repeat was not a good one. Understood, we will address this in a future version. Thanks again!

aevek 2018-08-14 06:18

I really enjoyed this one! I had a lot of fun trying to corral all the enemies into a pen then drop them both at the same time. The game explained itself well and I was never really confused about why things happened. I did accidentally drop myself a couple of times when I was experimenting with cutting the level in half though.

Heres the clip from my stream where we played your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/297137111

telefrag-entertainment 2018-08-14 17:21

This was fun! I enjoyed the mechanic, and the art/sounds were great. Also had a problem with sections not falling off, but if you went around smashing blocks that were nearby it would eventually make one of them fall.

purrfexionator 2018-08-14 17:49

Great game! I played through the whole thing! At first i didn't quite understand what to do, but as soon as I began to understand the concept of isolating blobs on small platforms, I could't stop playing! At times it was a little frustrating, and it was very hard to predict enemy movement, but overall it was still a great experience!

twinghosts 2018-08-16 00:55

Cool game I really like these types of games, a bit of planning and smacking. The graphics were cool and fit the game really well. Same with the audio, the high pitches of the music became a bit annoying at times though.

A lot of levels which were fun to play but not really more difficult than the previous levels. Wouldve been nice to have some more types of enemies or tiles. And I noticed that the clicking doesnt always register when I clicked on a slime. And as described above, platforms didnt always fall.

The game was really solid though, had a blast playing it and I hope you will expand on this!

prodigalson 2018-08-18 03:04

@aevek really enjoyed watching you play our game and the feedback you gave is really valuable and we will definitely be pursuing updating the game accordingly.

The overall behavior of the enemies is to track you but often we found when there are more than one, they would get stuck trying to get to you. To avoid this, we added an in between state where they randomly chose a tile to go to before pursuing you again in hopes that these would reduce the times they get stuck

prodigalson 2018-08-18 03:26

@telefrag-entertainment thanks for playing! Yes, we need to review the logic for dropping sections of the map as it does not always detect when a piece should fall.

prodigalson 2018-08-18 03:38

@Purrfexionator thanks for playing. Yes, the enemy behavior was a tricky for us to implement and we are working to improve it and make them more predictable to make them fun to coral and drop. :D Glad you had fun!

prodigalson 2018-08-18 04:13

@twinghosts thanks for playing and commenting. We agree that there's no real progression to the levels but more a variation of them and we are working to improve this and the logic to break of tiles. :D

zicboy 2018-08-18 08:31

Awesome game! I enjoy the art and mood of it. Keep up the good work!

tuteupaituamae 2018-08-18 10:13

i liked 3d models !! nice job bro!!

prodigalson 2018-08-18 12:28

@zicboy thanks for playing. We'll do! @tuteupaituamae glad you enjoyed the models and thanks for playing :)

thegunmaster 2018-08-18 16:33

Very nice game, fits the theme very well but does have original game play.

corbak 2018-08-18 20:51

Lovely game, quite fun and cute one too ! Controls were a bit hard and frustrating at times because you need to click directly on the tile you want to break. Something more simpler would have been great because often I would click elsewhere :) Anyway good job !

prodigalson 2018-08-19 00:46

@thegunmaster thank you for the nice comment and for playing

@corbak thank you for playing and the suggestions. Yes, I agree that the controls do not feel as smooth as they could and I felt this from the start but we wanted to focus the time we had left to build the rest of the game so we accepted them for them time being. :D The aim is to update them so that they are more intuitive and allows you as the player to simply focus on breaking those tiles rather on where to click. :D

kapiteinkoekwous 2018-08-19 11:06

Hey there! This game was played on www.twitch.tv/arjendesign yesterday! Super fun and great job!

koala-squad 2018-08-19 15:42

Good job! The mechanics felt solid and fun! It could use some work on the graphics though, and the audio is rather lacking. It fits the theme quite well though.

Cheers! - The Koala Squad

le-slo 2018-08-19 16:14

Nice idea, the controls are a bit clunky and frustrating (some times you continue moving for 2 or 3 tiles, making harder to execute the strategy). I would have played more with the size of the level. The music and sounds are great.

carlos-giraldo 2018-08-19 18:05

Really liked the idea. My suggestions would be make the AI behavior slightly more predictable and also make it clearer which section of the map is gonna fall, since there were a couple of times I died without knowing if it was going to be it or me.

vivoubos 2018-08-19 18:29

Nice game, had fun, and finish it ^^ Just sometimes, it's hard to aim and move at the same time but great job!

eduardo-yukio 2018-08-19 19:14

Well polished game! Nice graphics and audio! I just think that the controls were a bit clunky, I'd liked it better if it was a bit faster to break the tiles and stun the enemies. Another thing is that it took me a while to understand how to make them fall, but it can be just me being dumb hahaha. I guess there are many dumb players out there too, so if you showed a demonstration before the game begins it would definitely help.

prodigalson 2018-08-20 00:30

@kapiteinkoekwous Thanks for streaming our game! I liked your comments and it was fun to see you play!

@koala-squad Thanks for playing the game and the suggestion

@le-slo thanks for playing. Post jam version is being worked on to have a smoother controls and movement so as to not misstep. Thanks for the comments @carlos-giraldo thanks for playing and we agree, the post jam version already has a more predictable enemy in it. Just working on a few other things before posting it :D

prodigalson 2018-08-20 00:48

@vivoubos thanks for playing the game and we are working on making hammering more responsive. glad you enjoyed it :)

@eduardo-yukio thank you for playing and the comment. Yes, we agree too and are working on making the hammer faster and destroying tiles more intuitive :)

reax 2018-08-20 02:41

Great game I like it!

cassio-eduardo 2018-08-20 03:21

Very simple, but well made. Overall the game is good, but too easy. The ability to stun and lure them to a position makes every solution the same, maybe having random patterns or two enemy types (one that follow and one that is random), would alleviate the problem.

Good job.

saoi-games 2018-08-20 04:35

Thank you for sharing your game with me. I played it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames

I have rated your game, but all of my feedback was captured in the stream. It was in the middle.

You can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299357576

prodigalson 2018-08-20 05:24

@saoi-games thanks for playing and streaming the game as well as for the suggestions to improve/teach the player. Sorry that the Pause/Menu button was not made more clear which would've allowed you to restart that first time you got stuck. :) We will take that in to consideration when improving communications on what can be done. We are working on updating the drop tile logic so that visually it makes sense what falls and what does not. It was cool to see that it was eventually understood that the smaller side falls except for when they are the same size ;). :D

prodigalson 2018-08-20 05:27

@reax thanks for playing @cassio-eduardo thanks for the input and for playing. That's definitely a cool way to add some variety into the game play. Thanks for suggesting it.

mr-madcat 2018-08-20 07:29

Pretty well done.

The controls are sometimes a bit wonky, but that is to be expected from a jam game :) Visuals and sound are nice and level design was also interesting.

Overall a good entry!

prodigalson 2018-08-20 11:44

@mr-madcat thank you for playing and the compliments. We aim to have that addressed on v.1.0.2 by implemented a different way to control the player avatar.

randomphantom 2018-08-20 14:11

Great modelling, animations, sound FX and it feels almost like an actual minigame from a real game! The enemies can be a bit dumb sometimes like getting stuck, but other times they do some pathfinding magic.

schizoid2k 2018-08-20 14:14

Fun game! Nice graphics and audio, game play and movement was pretty smooth. Congrats on a solid entry.

kiirohanabi 2018-08-20 16:54

I had a really great time playing your game. I wasn't sure at the beginning if I'd play all levels but I did! Audio is great, graphics too, the only thing I didn't like was controls, as it wasn't easy to determine when the robot would stop when keeping a key pressed. Other than that a really solid entry! Great job!

nam-nguyen 2018-08-20 20:51

Hey Im from FireSplash stream, your game looks super polished, and I think the fact that enemies dont follow player adds a lot of complexity and make the game more challenging/interesting. The graphics is simple but effective, everything has an indication, the mechanic is clever, really dont have anything to add on top of it so the game scores really high for me. Great work guys!!

firesplash-entertainment 2018-08-20 21:27

Just played your game live on stream - it was satifying to play - Please keep up and do a steam release!

erikiene 2018-08-20 22:21

Great entry! Might be worth adding some sort of power ups or something to liven up the game after a few levels, but for a jam game this is amazing. Also, might want to throw in a rick and morty reference to 100x your players & comments (seeing as how you've already set it up in your title - personal space)

eptwalabha 2018-08-20 22:31

Your game is super nice. I like the falling alien's animation, it cracks me up every time. Good job on your entry.

arron-fowler 2018-08-20 23:02

Pretty solid entry. I liked the challenge of it. It started to play a bit slow as the levels proceeded but that is probably more to do with my machine which is well thrashed at the moment. I had a lot of fun playing it. Good work.

prodigalson 2018-08-21 03:51

@randomphantom Thanks for playing and for liking the 3d assets. We released a 1.0.1 version that makes the enemies movement more predictable. :)

@schizoid2k Thanks for playing and liking it!

@kiirohanabi Thanks for playing all the way through! Yes, the movement may not be as responsive as it could. We are planning to address this in a future release. :D

prodigalson 2018-08-21 04:07

@nam-nguyen and @firesplash-entertainment thank you for playing and streaming the game and for the comments

@erikiene thank you for playing and for the suggestion. You are the second to mention having some sort of additional tool in the player's arsenal to help with defeating enemies which is something to definitely consider. Our artist/designer said the same thing and almost did something like that! lol @drums

prodigalson 2018-08-21 04:11

@eptwalabha thank you for playing and I agree, the alien's animation are probably one of the best things the game has, I like them too! :D

@arron-fowler thank you for playing and sorry the game lagged after a while. We are always looking to improve performance and will review to optimize as much as possible. The jam version does do a few more calculations than the post jam version which could be the reason why and there's still room for improvement so I'll keep at it! :)

erendis 2018-08-21 08:43

nice work !

prodigalson 2018-08-21 09:55

@erendis thanks!

optimans 2018-08-21 10:54

Really a pleasant game! Nice space theme and overall graphics. I quitted once by mistake and there was no level selector, I just have this complainment, but really well done!

prodigalson 2018-08-21 11:31

@optimans thanks for playing and comments. sorry about the soft reset. We are planning on releasing a level selector. Originally it was going to be more of random patterns but one level. What can I say...last minute changes. Lol

ephoria 2018-08-21 11:59

Thanks for this game. Original and fun, It's was a pleasure to play it ! great work

barondzines 2018-08-21 12:01

yeah this game was pretty difficult because the ai seemed to be on point for the slime, plus they moved just as fast as you did. So trying to run across the map was pretty crazy. Also I didn't get why one half of the map would fall away but not another..... it was confusing to me. Either way pretty bad ass game man.

drums 2018-08-21 15:11

@erikiene Yes! Rick and Morty! I was going to edit a video to where he was looking at slides of our game while shouting "gotta get me that personal space" and such. Decided not to, but nice to hear someone thought the same =P

wrenpirate 2018-08-21 22:03

I died immediately three times. Then I stopped to think about the instructions I had just read. The highlighting of smashable squares is a good touch. I like the sound effect when I bop the slimes to stun them. I wish I had more than a single life to work with. Graphics look good, and the game works smoothly. I started to get a little worked up because I really wanted to win!

loudrasiel 2018-08-21 22:55

this game is very good, I like th idea and the theme is perfectly respected ^^ the graphics is good and the audio simple but very good ^^

prodigalson 2018-08-22 02:01

@ephoria and @loudrasiel thanks for playing. Glad you had fun

@barondzines Your comment made me smile. thank your for playing. Sorry for the confusion with the dropping of the tiles. There was a bug fixed on v 1.0.1 to address that.

@wrenpirate Thanks for playing and sorry that death came so quickly and so many times. We are working on updating the designs of the levels to reduce that while teaching the player what can/cannot be done. Expect that no v1.0.2

mapedorr 2018-08-22 04:22

A fun game. The core mechanic remembers me the Windows 95 game Jezzball. Entertaining, good music and sound effects, good graphics. I like the use you guys gave to the theme. I had problems to stop playing, is addictive. Sometimes is hard to understand how the ground will fall, I lost a lot of times because of that. Maybe a little feedback could solve that.

You guys already played our game: The legend of the looter and the incredible backpack that never runs out of space, so we can't do anything but thank you. 」( ̄▽ ̄」)

prodigalson 2018-08-22 04:27

@mapedorr thanks for playing our game! I was not aware of "Jezzball" so I immediately googled it and I can see the similarities. Thanks for the feedback. The ground falling mechanics was fixed in version 1.0.1 :)

andrei9 2018-08-22 23:02

Really nice game design here !

chadrbanks 2018-08-22 23:49

Reminds me of don't break the ice, nice.

prodigalson 2018-08-22 23:52

@andrei9 thanks for playing

@chadrbanks totally agree! Similar concept except you want to! lol Thanks for playing

mowztouch 2018-08-23 17:07

Very nice entry here, well done ! idea is good, gameplay is inuitive, and i've gone along all levels with interest, i liked it ! I just found a bug, when separating the ground, if there are equal number of blocks in each parts, nothing falls ^^

prodigalson 2018-08-23 20:52

@mowztouch thank you for playing and commenting. Glad you had fun and found it intuitive. We were aiming for that. Bug was fixed as of v 1.0.1 :)

crave 2018-08-24 02:30

You were right, our games are similar-ish with all the hammer smashing haha! Great minds think alike?

Lovely game btw ❤️❤️❤️

prodigalson 2018-08-24 03:46

@crave only great minds think alike! Lol nice :) and thanks for playing

bog13 2018-08-24 23:04

Nice game, greatly polished. (I had a bug where I can stand in one floating tile idk why).

prodigalson 2018-08-25 01:58

@bog13 Thanks for playing. That bug was fixed on v 1.0.1 :)

mammabouter 2018-08-25 10:23

Very cool game and a good implementation of the theme. Great job

prodigalson 2018-08-25 12:38

@mammabouter thanks! And thanks for playing

rahim-pxr 2018-08-27 16:32

Nice game, Love how everything is balanced! Good luck, Don't forget to take a look at ours if you don't mind and see what it's like when we just focused on graphics in this game jam! Game Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42a

wildcard 2018-08-29 16:44

Extremely fun game! The design and excecution fit the theme perfectly and the 3d graphics look good! I really liked the sound, especially the music in the background! I unfortunately got stuck later, and when I tried to reset by making the player fall down I really got stuckCapture.PNG but that is a small bug, the game itself is great! Well done everyone!

anna-petrova 2018-08-29 18:03

Fun game!)

roman-petrov 2018-08-29 22:27

Very addictive game! But I'm so bad in it, I couldn't finish even the first level, need to try more! It reminded me of the classic Qix or Xonix games.

leophys 2018-08-31 03:49

beautiful, innovative and fun. Congratulations!

naali 2018-09-01 01:33

Fun game. Nice job. Reminded me of bomberman and the board game don't break the ice.

local-minimum 2018-09-01 06:58

Nice and simple mechanics. My left mouse button kind-of almost doesn't work, so it got really hard. It was easy to understand the objective and I had managed to build a nice little thing to catch the enemy in. But my mouse's functionality was in the way. It would have been nice with keyboard binding for the clicking.

superqgs 2018-09-02 20:10

Fun game, reminds me a lot of DigDug 2. The first level almost seems way harder than the others though

prodigalson 2018-09-04 04:35

@rahim-px Thank you for giving our game a go!

@wildcard Thank you for playing and for the nice comments! Glad you had fun. That bug was fixed on v 1.0.1 :D

@anna-petrova Thanks :)

@roman-petrov lol. Thanks for playing!

@leophys Thank you, thank you

@naali Yes, it does have that kind of vibe, doesn't it :D Thanks for playing.

@local-minimum Thank you for playing. Yes, it seems that there's room for improvement to ensure that what should register as a click/hit actually does! lol I don't think it was your mouse all that much but thank you for being polite about it :D

@superqgs Oh, Snap! we've been discovered. lol ;) That game was an inspiration to make this one. Fun to see someone out there caught the reference. Thank you for playing

ursagames 2018-09-04 12:29

This was a really great entry! Definitely a lot different than my entry with the same title! I had a lot of fun though. Thanks for sharing your game with my stream awhile back. Your game was played around 5:01 into this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299401837

hellsquirrel 2018-09-04 13:50

genius, awesome concept!
