Great visuals! Love the smoke effect pouring off of the chili pepper meter. Music was good too, but not enough variation to carry it through the entire play time, and the sfx were satisfying. I think the interpretation of the theme was a bit shaky, but the game itself enjoyable and polished! Didn't encounter any bugs, which is especially impressive considering you did everything on your own! Well done :)
It's a shame you couldn't finish this game, but making something like this from scratch is a tall order. Big points to innovation for the effort! With some sfx added in I think the core gameplay would be super satisfying as is.
There's potential here, but I'd echo what other commenters already said. Larger attack animation, knockback, and the addition of sound effects as well as music would be ideal. For your first jam though, you did well! A working game with a decent level of visual polish is more than some can say!
The visuals were some of my favorite of the jam, and the music my favorite! Just wish the game wasn't so difficult! The "infamous" first snake did me in so many times.. Great job still :)
So fun and addicting! No joke I almost played long enough to unlock every single upgrade, but there was a bug with the dodge upgrade that wouldn't let me go past upgrade 3 :( Other than that though, bug free! Also, hilarious interpretation of the theme, love the creativity. Great Visuals (love the various animations of the farmers chasing you!), music, and sfx, all with a polish and done on your own. Well done :)
Incredible interpretation of that theme! Love it. As others said, a restart button would be nice, but I'm giving this a high rating for the hilarious concept alone.
Great job for a solo entry! Super impressive to have music, sfx, good visuals, and a polished game all on your own, especially for your first jam too boot! Other than some knitpicks, like the bubbles coming out of the cauldron sometimes blending too much with the color of the sky, and the lack of sfx for shooting, it's solid!
Not bad for your first jam game, especially when going it alone! I found the gameplay itself to be incredibly easy, but the mechanic of my character's health rate falling felt too fast, things were a bit unbalanced. On the plus side, I didn't run in to any bugs whatsoever! Great job on the polish :) Like what others said audio would have been nice, but for what it is you did alright!
Solid entry! The only problem I had with it was how high the sensitivity was! Although that may have been the point to add to the unstableness, but either way it did make things a bit frustrating to play. Every game doesn't have to be built around being the most fun though of course, games are also the best medium for emulating another's experience, and this does that very well! Definitely felt unstable lol. Aside from the sensitivity (which may be intentional) I did not run into any bugs, so great job on the polish! Voice acting was fitting and the lines funny, sound design was minimalistic but good, and the retro visuals tie it all together! Great work :)
Would love to play, but windows keeps automatically deleting it upon finishing the download for security reasons :( I've encountered this with other entries as well. Usually it's easy to get around, but it literally has been auto-deleting games all throughout the jam, and I don't even have anti-virus software!
Enjoyed it! Great visuals, good music, decent sound effects, and fun gameplay that I found to be a bit too easy. Didn't encounter any bugs or weirdness, so well done on the polish! Overall a very solid entry, with a few things I could nitpick, like the interpretation of the theme being sort of common, but nothing that outshines the positives! :)
Great visuals! It's a shame there's no music to go along with them, I feel like a good jam would really improve the feel of this game. I like the core mechanic of the ground slowly deteriorating, but felt the enemies themselves were a bit too accurate. Maybe I'm just bad lol, but I found dodging exceptionally difficult. Solid entry though, didn't encounter any bugs or weirdness, so good job on the polish :)
Wow. At first I thought being unable to type at a certain point was a glitch, so I restarted the game only to run into the same 'issue'. Then I noticed the whole keyboard shift, and immediately realized what was going on. It forced me to type like an elderly person/someone with alzheimers! Genius. On an aesthetic level, and thematic level I really respect and adore this game, although the gameplay itself wasn't super enjoyable. That doesn't have to be the purpose of every game though of course, as is shown here. There's things like this that can be communicated so much better in a game than other mediums, games allow us to enter another's shoes by emulating their experience. Thanks for making this :) As a side note, I did not run in to any bugs or weirdness, so well done on the polish!
EDIT: Jeez and I didn't even realize you made this by yourself! Music, art, sound effects, seriously impressive!
Love the aesthetic. Gameplay was pretty simplistic, but you guys did a good job of building stress as things speed up. Nice touch with the music pitch shifting and speeding up as well. Didn't encounter any bugs or weirdness, very polished :)
Probably my favorite entry so far. The atmosphere is just too good. I think it would have been even better if the enemy were smaller, sneakier, faster, etc. and ammo was limited just to bump up the difficulty, but as is it's still fantastic, especially for doing it by yourself in 48 hours!
EDIT: Also great job on the polish! No bugs or weirdness whatsoever.
That was great! The umbrella sliding mechanic is super innovative, love it. Love the atmosphere as well, just wish there were some sound effects and music to compliment the nice visuals. Good work :) Also extra points for the "You Dried" joke
Interesting premise, and surprisingly addictive yet simple gameplay. The art and atmosphere made it pretty compelling, like I wasn't gonna be satisfied until I was finished lol The addition of music would have been nice, but as is I enjoyed it. Didn't encounter any bugs, so good work on the polish too, especially for your first jam!! Look forward to seeing what you guys do next :)
One of my favorite entries I've played, even though I'm not entirely sure how to play it lol, but the aesthetic and atmosphere mixed with the gambling element of random cards kept me goin for a while. Addictive, well polished, foreboding atmosphere, great work! Top score was 132 :)
186! Pretty proud of that! Didn't encounter any bugs, so great job on the polish. Adding in some sound effects and music would have been ideal, but for a solo jam you did good work!
Loved it! Super fun, and the absurdity of the chaos I watched unfold on screen was hilarious. I found it to be a bit easy, had a few times where I felt like a blast definitely should have ended me but didn't, and more variation would have been a plus. As is though it's a solid entry and put a smile on my face :) Good work!
That's an addicting game for only 6 hours of work! And no bugs too! Music was good as well, just not very fitting, but hey for 6 hours making music + a fun, polished game's a job well done.
I'd love to play more, but I can't get the move up/down control to work! Great work on the art and audio. Love the premise, humor, and aesthetic. Let me know if it's a bug, or if I'm maybe doing something wrong controls wise, and I'd be happy to hop back in and give it another go!
Neat concept, and a polished execution! Great job on the art too! More music would have been nice, but hey for goin it alone having a finished game without bugs is a win.
Game looks great! Easy to get the hang of, but gets difficult once you encounter the quantum cores. Also I like that you incorporated the theme into not just gameplay, or aesthetics, but both! Didn't encounter any bugs, so good job on the polish too!
