A bit of a frustrating platformer at times, when I thought I jumped, but it didn't take the jump, then I had to wait for the slow moving code blocks to come back. I really liked the setting though, very creative there! Also, not sure why the audio category is missing (I'm guessing you might not have made the audio then?) but I liked that too.
I like this game! Pretty fun, But i have 2 problems. 1.The Colliders are a bit off. 2.Sometimes the red bar goes too fast. The mechanic of creationg your own levels seems pretty interesting. Also the audio sounds like it was made by someone else, not yours. Fun game overall!

After pressing Play the game just hangs :(

Really interesting game! It is very intriguing that I often play this game myself when I was coding and boring with nothing to do. This game really echo me with those memories. I really enjoy it lolll
@testuser Sorry to hear about problems with jumping. It's probably the logic, that it will not allow you to jump if you are "in the air", so you need to press jump after landed. I created sounds, but background music was external resource (just linked it in description), that's why I opt out myself from audio. Thanks for feedback!
@witekwitek Could you explain in what way they were off in your case? Colliders are like 0.5cm wider than a text as I thought it would be better experience, but not sure if that what you mean. About the red bar.. yeah adjusting difficulties it's always hard part for me during game jams :) I created sounds, but background music was external resource (just linked it in description), that's why I opt out myself from audio. Thank you for feedback!
@kornel Just uploaded HTML version of it, do it work for you?
@foursay Haha been there!
The fact you made a game that looks like the Visual Studio Code IDE, so cleanly and smoothly I might add, is impressive. Platforming is decent as well.

Yes, thank you!

Hahahaha i love the idea and music. Just so you know, you can trick the game by holding the left button and jumping all the time. (In case you do not know). But really funny idea. Love it  And the controls are really smooth (if you don't cheat xD)

this game was an absolute blast to play, I *love* the concept and the fact that you can put your own code in makes it even better! not a ton of replayability here, but for a quick 5 minute jaunt it was a lot of fun, awesome work!
A simple platform with a humorous way put. I would never have thought of using your game's code as a level :D
I *love* that you play as a cursor - the trails emulating a "highlight" are really clever too! The platforming feels great and the aesthetic is very well done.
Some "some programmer humor" comments sprinkled through-out and maybe more PC-esque sfx would help tie it together, but the zany music and shifting text are already really fun elements.
Only real "issue" I found was that you could just cling to the walls indefinitely and tap space/w to climb way faster than the red bar can get you. Also, at the very top of the script, I failed by getting pushed to the other side of the wall and falling back down - not sure if there's a completion screen anyway tho.

This is so meta, you can be stuck there in a while The webgl build doesn't let me paste code using clipboard though
Maybe it can help some developers indenting their code!

People who write lines over 80 chars love this game.
YEAH! This is so cool! Such a smart dumb idea, Really like the whole look of it. Literally programmer art. Crazy. The right length too. Nice controls feel as well. Well done! Hope more people play it!
This is great! I lost at line 3 :'( The music fit perfectly, great choice! This is exactly how coding feels like after the first 32 hours of a jam!
Love this so much, really enjoyed the editor too. The music is fantastic for creating a whimsical but urgent feeling throughout

Great Game! I think i found a bug where the bar went to the other side of the side bar. Anyways, i really liked this!Captura de pantalla de 2020-10-06 16-53-08.png
The game is great and makes fun to play. I found a bug, where you can hold a and spam Space on the wall, then you are as fast as the red line and go constantly up.

The skin of the game make us totally forgot that it's just a platformer. But it did, and it's a simple detail but i love the trail. In conclusion cool and funny entry

Frustrating but fun! It's an excellent idea for a game. The platforming is tight but stressful. Overall, had a good time.
Haha, love it! It was both an interesting idea an fun to play! Well done!

I achieved to reach to the first line!! It was very funny and enjoyable. Very very original, I never thought that I will play the code itself. I hope that really was your LevelGenerator.cs . The unique thing that may be improved is when you tries to make a jump on the wall, it seems not fully responds correctly.
This might be the most clever and stupid idea at the same time and still managing to fit the theme! There seems to be a bug when you hug the wall and press jump you can climb forever, other than that it's great. Good job!
The concept that the level is literally the code of the game is awesome, great execution!

I really appreciate the meta concept of platforming on the actual game code, that is so cool. Well done.
Felt very original while oddly familiar. Well Done! I like it!

very fun game, music was nice though it was a little too loud, the graphics are very smart and well done and all around I really enjoyed playing the game, good work!

nice idea with the IDE if there was no zoom you could play it at work
you can easily get up on the side by holding a and spamming space. if there is code in the way it might happen that you jump outside the game area
Cool concept! Gameplay is simple but effective. However, you can stick to the left and spam jump :( but nice and very original entry!
Good & simple game, platforming feels good and the concept is funny.

how fun xD I'm curious, was this code part of the actual code? great game!
I'm going to put this music on everytime I'm debugging from now on ! Hopefully it will make it as fun as your game ahah

Made it to the top without using "features". Game is fun, maybe a little bit too simple. Liked the meta humor, really solid stuff. A winner is you.PNG
Pretty cool idea and tge gameplay kinda reminds me of icy tower
This was really cool and original I enjoyed it a lot. I like how the music speeds up. Very snappy controls. And the idea of making the level with the game code - very meta. Great job!
Thanks, I needed more to have more coding nightmares lol. Amazing game.
The most accurate simulator of my coding process, thank you for such fun experience.

Cool game! I love the concept - very fresh and original. Good job!
It is hard to complain about something here :) It seems a little bit hard for my taste, but that's just a matter or personal taste and experience. Others can find it easy. You can tune several difficulty levels to cover that.
Also, the font in the menu seems to be too small, especially the one showing the controls. Maybe because I've played on Retina Mac, on an HD monitor it might look better. The font in the game looks just fine though.
Another tiny improvement - you can put additional sound effect on landing on the line. It should be very distinct form the jump and it will provide additional audio feedback. Plus another sfx when a line is gone underneath you and you start to fall down.

Dude XD. This is the most original thing I've ever seen. I love it. The platforming as well is really cool XD. 5/5 for innovation. But it's just really sad that the game can be cheesed by just jumping off the walls. Pls work more on this though :)
Beat it without touching the walls. That was a blast.

Awesome game ! Really intuitive and responsive on the controls, good graphics, the most original concept i've seen. Sadly, I couldn't get to Copy/Paste anything for the level editing part, and I'd Love to play this with some personal codes :) Great job, keep it up !
Ha, hilarious take! I agree with some of the comments regarding the frustrating parts of the platforming though. Even though the level is code, I think it could benefit from some more though put in the level design here and there, not only for the frustration part but also to make the platforming more interesting! (gets a bit repetitive quite fast)
However, gotta admit, this is a very unique and funny entry, love it even with its flaws!
Neat concept :) For bonus points you could remake the game as an actual IDE plugin in the future (were I more fluent in elisp, I'd try an Emacs demake)
Very clever entry! It's well implemented and "feels" like being in an IDE.
It might stray from the concept but more effects and general feedback would be cool, and I think less silly music would fit better.

Nice entry, I liked the concept. As a game it is a bit repetitive but it's a good dev joke.
This is how debugging on drugs must look like. Great idea and nice execution.
Nice and simple. Everything came together and worked really well. Reminds me of https://managore.itch.io/walkie-talkie.
