Nice, finally finished something
monotonous gameplay and the jump is suuuper weird with the gravity. Cool cover art though.
I'm not sure if I was playing it right but I basically just clicked the mouse in two spots on the screen and shot some beans while the main bean was off camera.
Hey this was pretty cool, nice work. Would love to see this with more polished visuals, definitely worth continuing post-jam
A tutorial would be nice. Or atleast something to tell what the controls are. This game could be a lot better but is a decent effort none the less.
Had a hard time figuring out the controls. Kept falling off the building. Easy control screen at the begging would be helpful!
I think I get the concept - you protect yourself and the guy on the bottom by shooting spheres on the capsules. You have really good cover art, great job. The jump is kinda weird.
Nice idea, but graphic... its ... if you going make good graphic it will be good game. Good luck!
Nice Work overall.
i loved the theming, and i would have been excited to see it expressed more in the gameplay/visuals. that title screen is wonderfully done though! it took me a couple lives to figure out who i was controlling and how to control them, but from there it was pretty smooth sailing for the most part. congrats on your finish!
I would add some notes about the controls here on your submission page.
The delayed shots the farther you went along made it interesting and I thought the music would grind, but it's now in my head. Nice
Cool cover art
The jump and movement is awkward and hard to get used to. the sound just muted when i put it to about 50%, nice options tho.
The cover art was nice and the concept sounded fun but the execution wasn't great. The gravity was all sorts of weird, like you got it backwards or something? A quick ascent with a slower descent would have made a sense of sorts but the reverse of that feels bizarre to control. A lack of any tutorial or even a listing of inputs is a pretty big misstep. Control feel is everything to a platformer and you really need to work on nailing that system to make it enjoyable. I'd recommend playing a few platformers that you really enjoy and then trying to recreate that feel to get an idea of how it works. I'd like to see where you could take it with a bit more dev time, however in its current state it's not very enjoyable.
Cool concept! I think it would be better if the jump was less floaty, and with updated visuals for the players. Well done!
Well this was weird.. The tumbnail doesn't match the game art at all it's just Unity shapes :/ At least you made something - good luck ;)
I feel like this would be easier to make in Unity2D. Its much easier to make something look polished in 2d.
Agree with Brossman here, the music is catchy
Took a while to understand what i had to do, or not to do. For example i had to stay on the roof. I was able to get pretty far by not moving at all and just shooting. I vanquished 16 people that way. Jump was weird, but once i got used to it i could manage. I liked it overall.
kinda disappointing, the title screen art is great and so is the concept, but the graphics look like they're purely placeholders and the controls feel very clunky and janky. With more work this concept could definitely make for a good game, though.
Figured out the controls after a couple rounds, was confused why I was losing at first without being killed, and only then noticed the health bar on the lower player. Adding some variety to the building height and having the escorted bean switch to the roofs sometimes would make a big difference. Nice work!
Wow that's a huge bait-n-switch from the title card to the actual gameplay. As others have said, jumping is weird and it takes a while to know what to do. I do enjoy the idea of a sidekick keeping the main hero alive as he (presumably) gets all the credit, though!
As others have pointed out, there's room for improvement for sure. You definitely have a cool idea here, so the next step is just to get more experience with Unity and make more games. Keep practicing!
I didn't really get the controls until I read other peoples comments.... And as most people said, the jump is quite clunky
this is very nice! i also had to read the comments in order to understand but overall, i thought the health bar was like a power meter or something smh... hahaha i like it
Nice game. Being able to shoot the bullets is a nice mechanic. The concept is interesting, and the theme is well respected. Good job guys! Also, cool cover art :D
Thanks for the feedback! will tweak the jump to make it smooth
