LD46 — Keep it alive

Torchkick by Wekaj 2020-04-22T16:21:06Z

I really liked this one, it sorta felt like downwell, except in reverse. Even if there was no music, the sound effects were still satisfying and i really liked the subtle slowdown when you hit the torch.

Keeping SNES Alive! by drludos 2020-04-21T14:35:54Z

Literally keeping a console alive by making a game where you have to keep that console alive has to be one of the most creative approaches to theme i've seen yet. nice job!

The Wrecker by bmacintosh 2020-04-21T02:12:02Z

i like how you can still walk around and destroy stuff even after you've won.

Apocalyp Snow by keln 2020-04-21T14:44:31Z

Very great concept for a game, it was really fun and i did play it more than once. I really like how it's a puzzle game that's always different, although some of the sounds the caveman made really got on my nerves.

Balloon Jump by Blueman 2020-04-20T20:44:45Z

I like how you try to keep things more varied with the wind and power ups, even if it's not that challenging.

Are We There Yet by Twistashio 2020-04-21T03:38:42Z

the concept is fun, but it's really hard to tell what's going on and how stuff works, and the weird camera spin at the start can really throw you off.

Tablet Force by AdamV 2020-04-21T05:58:35Z

this has to be one of my favorites so far! Draining robots to get back energy is a really cool feature and reminds me of the "one mechanic solves multiple problems" thing. The controls were also sorta like Binding of Isaac which is always a plus in my book. Although i couldn't get past the giant maze-like stage (which i assume is probably the final), no flaws really stood out to me.

Feed The Furnace by Frozedon 2020-04-21T06:34:41Z

Surprising amount of depth for a game jam game, very addictive. I love how sassy the shop owner gets when you linger around for too long. One of my favorites so far.

Antourage by GuyUnger 2020-04-21T16:22:05Z

Super Metroid music is always nice.

Keep the LEVEL ALIVE! by magicera 2020-04-21T14:11:34Z

having to keep the stage itself alive is a very fun concept, although it feels like you can't really do much against it with how many of those things are heading towards it.

Coronary Flypass by squirmonkey 2020-04-21T02:47:08Z

very unique concept, I'm kinda jealous of people who can come up with ideas like this that quickly.

Fiery Caverns by mitsu.artemius 2020-04-21T05:32:07Z

this was surprisingly fun, though i found it weird how the slimes don't reset when you die.

Rekindle by Xenoxygene 2020-04-21T03:18:07Z

I like how there's two things you have to keep track of in similar ways. I didn't survive very long but the short time playing was pretty fun.

The man who watches the time pass by TPZombie 2020-04-21T16:58:27Z

Well that was sad. The most obvious thing to do for this theme would be games where you have to survive or protect something, so seeing more of a storytelling approach was definitely a nice change of pace.

7 Intelligence by twobitadder 2020-04-21T06:11:16Z

Very good idea, although in the more complex stages it can be a bit confusing as to which object you're gonna possess, especially when you have to react quickly.

Cheat Or Die by Kanonix 2020-04-21T03:52:54Z

this is fun concept, yet weirdly dark, although it is kinda hard to tell when it's safe to hand over the paper.

Arboreas by MysteriousBaboon 2020-04-21T20:34:37Z

The best way to stop the disease from spreading is to destroy all trees, prove me wrong.

LifeLine by pomeroyb 2020-04-21T20:41:19Z

Controlling a Heartbeat is pretty fun, especially when you have to make sure not to beat too slow or too fast. i like it.

Earth Protector by Riadazz 2020-04-21T16:13:15Z

Very simple yet fun. Gotta love how you can shoot backwards by pointing inside the earth.

Ball Monster by marrero171 2020-04-21T16:49:59Z

I'm not sure if it's only on the browser version, but the fact that you had to start all over again when you died was quite a pain. I really like the reverb effects, though.

Captain Bean and lil JalapeƱo by Tsamf 2020-04-21T03:25:06Z

kinda disappointing, the title screen art is great and so is the concept, but the graphics look like they're purely placeholders and the controls feel very clunky and janky. With more work this concept could definitely make for a good game, though.

Don't Let the Flame Die Out by Zeta4mStudios 2020-04-21T03:32:13Z

Very unfortunate you lost motivation despite the short time frame, this was definitely an interesting take on the theme, and it was more fun than i expected.

OwOrbit by AudreyC 2020-04-21T02:21:30Z

Ha, and i thought the number of meteors heading towards a planet was ridiculous in my game, but it's nothing compared to this.

Probably the worst game in this event, but I'm still so proud that I finished it by ThatSoloDev 2020-04-21T13:55:43Z

i think it would be nice if you were given a bit of time to react at the start of each screen. But to me, the fact that other people's games might be better is not really an excuse to quit. If you don't practice, you won't even get the chance to be as good, after all.

Now That's A Cool Sun by Raxe612 2020-04-21T16:40:10Z

Very interesting idea, was very fun to play.

Extraterrestrial Dinosaur Savior by Trace 2020-04-21T05:35:40Z

@bmacintosh well, i wouldn't be so sure about the moon being scientifically accurate considering how close it is. But about the with difficulty not increasing, i was considering adding some kind of system that would do that, but i wasn't sure how i would handle it, and there were already some situations were it felt like you couldn't do much. Plus the game was already pretty fun as is, so i just left it like that.

Extraterrestrial Dinosaur Savior by Trace 2020-04-21T16:45:31Z

@tpzombie nice, my highscore is 254180, it took a lot of patience and i don't expect anybody to get that high.

Extraterrestrial Dinosaur Savior by Trace 2020-04-22T16:10:38Z

@wekaj That's probably because of the soundfont, cause i actually told the guy who made the music that he could listen to star fox music for inspiration, neither him nor me really play final fantasy games.

Extraterrestrial Dinosaur Savior by Trace 2020-04-29T02:48:01Z

@jonathan-lorenz Yeah, that was the original plan, but i wasn't quite sure how i'd exactly handle it so i just left it as it was, which gave me more time to add more polish.

Genki by GOD COLO 2020-04-22T16:02:23Z

Pretty well done for only 7 hours of time, too bad you didn't have the time to be more creative with the theme.
