For 7 hours it's not bad at all

hadesfury 2020-04-21 09:53

quite polish for a game done in 7h

noobexception 2020-04-21 09:56

Really nice!

At some point there was more enemies than my firepower could handle, and then my screen got flooded with enemies XD

I really enjoyed the music, it really suits the game.

Btw, you could add some quit button if you make game fullscreen

snowycocoon 2020-04-21 10:00

200 sec but i gave up. Very nice game but some new enemies would be nice add. Also even when there are 100 enemies on the screen its very easy to gain energy back from them, even if they hit you hard.

minusc 2020-04-21 10:04

197.72 secondes ! Nicely little shooter, that's fun. Impressive in a such short amount of time. When we die, we can't retry or quit, we just have the shoot and explosions sounds looping xD Still, nice job !

mehrdadsh 2020-04-21 10:16

that is some fast work, nice

zyro 2020-04-21 16:51

Solid game, my pc had a seizure though. The timer is great because now i can challenge people to beat my score!Capture.PNG

bastienre4 2020-04-21 17:03

Good job! Looks like there're no boundaries so it becomes quite easy so stay alive. But without using the bug, the game is fun to play :)

saadsirius 2020-04-21 20:23

Looking at the fact that you made this in just 7 hrs its a nice game,i hope next time you don't miss the crucial time and come up with even more great stuff, good job for finishing and submitting the game.

wareya 2020-04-22 07:25

There's something to be said about your talent when you can executing a simple idea so straight with zero-effort graphics and have it turn out this well. No, really.

god-colo 2020-04-22 11:19

@lesslwo Thanks for playing man! I appreciate it!

@hadesfury Thanks ! It's just idea that instantly came in mind when I saw the theme.

@noobexception Thanks for playing! I really like synthwave.. I wanted to add those functionalities unfortunately missed some crucial hours for the jam :(

@snowycocoon My record is 169 s! Thanks for playing! Thanks for the feedback!

@minusc My record is 169! There could be more improvements but I missed some crucial hours for the jam :( Thanks for the feedback!

@mehrdadsh It really is xD ! Thanks for playing!

@zyro Woooooaaaahhhh !! My record is 169 s ! Gotta break that record ! Thanks for playing!

@bastienre4 Thanks for playing! and thanks for the feedback ! xD

@saadsirius Thanks for playing! I really hope next time I don't nearly miss it! and thanks for the feedback!

@wareya Thanks for this awesome feedback! It really means a lot ! thanks for playing!

gamer-fates 2020-04-22 16:00

gj glad you were able to complete this awesome gamee!!!

trace 2020-04-22 16:02

Pretty well done for only 7 hours of time, too bad you didn't have the time to be more creative with the theme.

zerohbeat 2020-04-22 20:17

Really imperssive game for 7 hours! My score was 195 seconds. Really cool game, so simple yet effective. Hopefully next time LD47? you will have more time :D The music is awesome and really fits the game.

nonsans 2020-04-22 20:30

I had a blast playing this. A short blast which lasted about 226.45 I think. The soundtrack is an absolute banger and I'm contemplating ripping it from the game files so I can put it in my playlist (that's a joke, unless...) did you make it yourself? The problem was just that towards the end the game it became unplayable framerate wise and unbeatable difficulty wise. Less onscreen enemies or a more powerful projectile could easily fix that though. I really felt quite Genki while playing and I would have felt Genki throughout, if it hadn't been for that impossible end.

unx 2020-04-22 22:46

I had a lot of fun playing your game. I lasted just over 200 seconds and i liked the pacing and the increasing difficulty rate very much. The music fits very well too.

marbles 2020-04-23 05:18

Nicely done in 7 hours although there is no feedback when the player gets hit.

god-colo 2020-04-23 07:10

@zerohbeat Thanks for playing ! 195 s ! :open_mouth: Everyone is beating my own highscore ! Really hope next time I make a complete game!

@nonsans Glad you had fun with it ! You actually noticed the title of the game! That music is a synthwave by EVA. Wait I'm gonna leave the title here - EVA_失望した - It's free to use.. you can search it on youtube! Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!

@unx Thanks for playing ! All of my friends are saying so !

I would like to thank all of you for playing my game ! It's only because of you guys that my game actually got the 20 ratings! It really means a lot to me since I gave my all in that 7 hours!

Once again, Thank You!

lamossus 2020-04-23 13:00

This game is very simple yet SO fun! I like how you can brute force your way through enemies if you are certain you can restore your energy in time for the next big wave, a really nice risk/reward mechanic. Nice job!

god-colo 2020-04-23 14:29

@lamossus Glad you had fun with the game! Thanks for the feedback!

sydream 2020-04-23 16:02

You made this in 7 hours? That alone should give you extra points. You got music, gameplay, sfx, gfx, enemies, bullets, space, points, hud, menu and all. I would be very proud to ship something so complete in so little time. Nice gameplay, controls are smooth, and it's fun! Well done! and thanks for nice feedback on my game!

elmo 2020-04-23 21:10

for such simple premise it was fun, it has that something that all the good Shoot 'em ups have. after 250 it started to lag so quit, i'm taking it as win condition

grentacular 2020-04-23 21:18

Not bad for 7 hours! Controls were smooth and responsive, and the premise was easy to grasp. I wish I could have seen what this could have been with more time!

god-colo 2020-04-24 06:18

@elmo Thanks for playing! Woooahhh even you got past the 220! :open_mouth: I cant't even reach that 200s! Glad you had fun playing it!

@grentacular Thanks for playing! I just hope that I won't be late in the next Ludum Dare! I'm thinking of adding concepts that I had in mind when developing the game, after the jam!

stevenjmiller 2020-04-24 10:44

Very fun game, my best time was just over 200 seconds. There are some things that could be improved (being able to wander offscreen, sounds continuing after death), but even without taking the 7 hour time frame into account, this is a solid entry. The concept is simple but it works well, great job!

pixnpickstudio 2020-04-24 10:48

Nice Job! Pros: I like the aesthetic of your game (I'm born early in the 80's), Audio is really cool, SFX reminds me my Videopac, Contra: SFX reminds me my Videopac, may be if you like to looks like oldies your game must be more difficult, and you can go outside of screen vision. I had a good time, thank you.

god-colo 2020-04-24 11:51

@stevenjmiller Even I as the developer cannot reach that 200 mark! Thanks for the feedback!

@pixnpickstudio Glad you had fun! Indeed I really like 80's style! I'll make sure next time I put up a better game! Thanks for playing !

frozen-stick 2020-04-24 13:13

For only working on it for 7 hours , This is actually a game you can play!I do like the 8bit graphics and the music but as said in the preceding comments , it does need a little polishing.Congratulation on making the game!

spirits 2020-04-24 15:00

Uff! after a while It lag intensively. However, for a game made in 7 hours this was very good! Maybe adding double bullets over time or a faster rate would have been awesome, since it becomes impossible when player has like 400 enemies on screen. Great job!

patrick1 2020-04-24 15:14

As others have said for 7 hours this was well done! At the end my gun was simply not enough to take out the emojis :p With more time some more bullet and gun times would be fun. The music was also some of the best I have seen so far it fit the game perfect well done :)

god-colo 2020-04-24 16:00

@spirits and @patrick1 Thanks for playing! Just to test, I actually increased the fire rate after a certain time on Unity and the results were amazing! Thanks for the feedback!

kkrac 2020-04-24 16:15

Good job for just 7 hours of work!

spirits 2020-04-24 16:24

@god-colo Nice! You should uploaded it as v1.1 post-jam regarding feedback's. I'll like to try it again

god-colo 2020-04-24 17:34

@kkrac Thanks for playing! :smile:

thelemba 2020-04-24 17:42

u did a great job in just 7 hours!

lambdanaut 2020-04-24 17:48

RECORD.png

RAD! I think you can cheat the system by putting a paperweight on an arrow key and going out for lunch though by the time you got back your computer would melt down.

god-colo 2020-04-24 19:13

@lambdanaut thanks for playing! Another player breaking my record! I plan on making an update after the jam which won't have the PC melt down, I hope!

elektroney 2020-04-24 20:18

Gj keep it up

noirdrive 2020-04-24 20:24

Simple but good execution, I like the aesthetics. I enjoyed while playing but quit after 180 seconds because I think gameplay doesn't evolve. As the others said you did a pretty neat work for 7 hours.

saltfactory-studio 2020-04-24 21:45

Like @noirdrive said, I really like how you focused on the gameplay of the game by providing simple, yet still pleasing, graphics. The movement controls and shooting all felt really fluid, which is important for a shoot-until-you-die game like this one. I can't seem to find a way to quit the game after I die though, so maybe if you had more time, add some more UI to help keep the players immersed in your game. Overall, nice job!

clockmaker 2020-04-24 22:06

amazing for something made in 7 hours !

lars-erik 2020-04-24 22:15

Strangely satisfying! Nostalgic to the bone. Couldn't quite figure out if there were a difference between the devils and the smileys. Never the less, thorougly enjoyed the 180s I got. :)

undead-aubergine 2020-04-25 02:44

Simple but effective. Maybe you can get inspired in Geometry Wars if you wish to extend it?

alaska 2020-04-25 02:46

It's a simple game but it's simply fun. Loved having enough health to just ram my way through a crowd until about the 200s mark.

shadoninja 2020-04-25 05:35

Good job. I liked the sound effects. I ended up flying wayyyy off screen haha

god-colo 2020-04-25 06:24

@elektroney Thanks for playing! :smile:

@noirdrive Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind when developing the post-jam version!

@saltfactory-studio Thanks for those kind words and for the feedback! Currently working on the post-jam version to see where it goes!

@clockmaker Thanks for playing! :smile:

@undead-aubergine Thanks for playing! I definitely want to extend it! Thanks for the advice!

@alaska Glad you loved it!

@shadoninja Thanks for playing! I'll definitely put some boundaries post-jam!

daniel-cox 2020-04-25 07:47

At around 150 I realized I could go offscreen and stay untouched indefinitely but at 190 the amount of enemies were beginning to slow down the game so I just called it. Brilliant music as well.

adriankrawczyk 2020-04-25 08:33

cute!

dubdisk 2020-04-25 08:57

Just a simple game with primitive and enjoyable gameplay. The only one thing I can't satisfy is weird mix between beautiful background music and retro chiptune sounds. Despite this, good work!

abiral 2020-04-25 09:55

This is a really awesome game for only 7 hours of development. Loved it!

gentel 2020-04-25 10:07

Good work for 7 hours! Classic Asteroids-style space shooter and the enemies were fun to dodge at the start. To improve I'd say definitely the off-screen bug as well as making the enemies and combat more complex.

matsuya 2020-04-25 11:01

I really enjoyed this with it's simplistic concept and minimalist visuals, and for something made in 7 hours this was really polished and felt really good to play.

diinki 2020-04-25 11:56

I agree with most people saying that this game is really well polished! Especially for only 7 hours! Great work!

mickxe 2020-04-25 12:06

Good job, great effort for a one day project.

god-colo 2020-04-25 12:43

@daniel-cox Thanks for playing! :smile:

@adriankrawczyk Thanks for playing! :smile:

@dubdisk Thanks for the feedback! I'm gonna keep that in mind when developing the post-jam version!

@abiral Thanks for those kind words!

@gentel Thanks for the feedback! Yes the off-screen bug feels 'off'! I'll definitely consider making complex enemies for the post-jam version! Glad you had fun playing it!

@matsuya Thanks for the awesome feedback! Glad you liked it!

@diinki Thanks for playing! It means a lot!

@mickxe Thanks for playing! :smile:

epiphanyg 2020-04-25 14:22

Very simple gameplay loop but incredibly satisfying to play and a lot of fun. The music is excellent and gives out some major Stranger Things vibes. Lovely work, keep it up! :grinning:

god-colo 2020-04-25 15:52

@epiphanyg Glad you had fun playing it!

ancientpears 2020-04-25 16:07

Neat and simple game play. Cool. Since you opt-out audio, did you use other resource for your music? I really enjoyed it. I want to know if you used 3rd-party resource. Anyway well done dude.

rolodophone 2020-04-25 16:09

I like the music and it's a fun, enjoyable game. It's hard to think of any improvements that you could have done in only 7 hours . Maybe the sprite for the enemies could be more interesting? That's literally all I can think of.

god-colo 2020-04-25 16:10

@ancientpears Thanks for playing my game! Yes and here is the title : Eva – 失望した I actually searched for synthwave on youtube and found this one. I used it because of its creative commons license.

david-bohan 2020-04-25 16:14

Neat asteroids/geometry wars type game. The graphics are simple & smooth, just the way I like them  . The gameplay is smooth and it was fun to play. Would look forward to this game being used as a platform for a fleshed out game of the same genre, with more enemy types and power ups. This is still a solid foundation and an amazing amount of work done given the short hour time frame. Excellent job!

ancientpears 2020-04-25 16:19

@god-colo

Thanks for fast response

milano23 2020-04-25 16:22

Good game. Well executed for such a short time. Music was cool, I got an Airwolf vibe from it.

god-colo 2020-04-25 16:31

@rolodophone Glad you fun playing the game! Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind when making the post-jam version!

@david-bohan Thanks for playing! There will be a post-jam version!

god-colo 2020-04-25 16:43

@milano23 Thanks for playing the game! The music really has something to it!

feingehacktes 2020-04-25 17:27

Would be nice if you could add builds for other OS like Linux and Mac

god-colo 2020-04-25 17:46

@feingehacktes Sorry for the inconvenience. Actually I already made changes to the project and added new features. I can't really release it during it during the jam. But there will be a post-jam version. Sorry if that caused any inconvenience.

43sam 2020-04-25 18:07

Fun game :) I liked the pacing of the difficulty as it felt natural and fair. The colours and sound effects work really well for this kind of arcade game. The music is amazing as well and fit the aesthitic perfectly. It would be handy to limit the player to the viewable area. Overall, this game is very simple and fun. Also, it's super satisfying to just run through a group of enemies and watch them explode!

rubixnoob13 2020-04-25 18:13

YOO! That was friggin' awesome! I made it to 191s, and the ONLY complaints I had were that I couldn't shoot fast enough to kill more of the things trying to kill me xD That and the lack of a restart button so I could kill more of them. The soundtrack is BANGIN'! I see in the comments above that you credited the source, A+ in my book. Awesome selection, solid entry, and hopefully we'll BOTH have more time to work on our entries in LD47 (I probably only had about 12 hours total for mine this time around, and yours looks much more solid than mine to be honest, lol) Great job! :D

god-colo 2020-04-25 18:46

@43sam Thank you for playing! I'll definitely consider your feedback when developing the post-jam version! Glad you had fun!

@rubixnoob13 YOOO! Glad you liked the game! I will consider the fire-rate for the post-jam version! I really hope that for the next LD, we make use of the whole time limit to make even better games ! Thanks for the awesome feedback!

smirnov48 2020-04-25 18:58

Nice game! ^)

chief141 2020-04-25 19:08

Boi ohh boi i loved how the game feels and looks.

saulo-rosart 2020-04-25 23:06

This was a solid game for 7 hours! Great music and sound effect!

drevilbrain 2020-04-26 01:31

It really feels like you gain far too much health in comparison to how much you can lose at any given point in time. The only time where I ever felt vulnerable was 3+ minutes into the game where almost the entire screen would be filled with enemies.

god-colo 2020-04-26 04:26

@saulo-rosart Thanks for playing! :smile:

@drevilbrain Thanks for playing! I'll tweak that for the post-jam version!

god-colo 2020-04-26 05:28

@chief141 Thanks for playing! :smile:

god-colo 2020-04-26 05:29

@smirnov48 Thank you for playing!

wans24 2020-04-26 14:44

Very fun game. Good visuals, sound and music. Has some nice impact when shooting. My first attempt was 169.18 seconds. I guess it's not bad. Enjoyed it. Cool for 7-hour work) I included your game in my list https://wans24.itch.io/he-needs-healing/devlog/140983/what-ludum-dare-46-did-to-me

god-colo 2020-04-26 15:40

@wans24 Thanks for your awesome feedback! 169!! Glad to see someone in my league! And thanks for adding my game to your list!

fabula-rasa 2020-04-26 19:09

That is seriously impressive for 7 hours of working alone! I liked how the music picked up tempo with the action. At some point, I really thought I was immortal. So I started to bump into enemies on purpose - and even then it seriously took a long while to die. Not that I'm really complaining! It felt nice to feel invincible in such a fast-paced shooting gallery for a change

duke 2020-04-26 21:56

Okay, seeing that you made this in 7h relativates the amount of content a little :P It's still more than some other entries that used the full time of 72h, so good job on that! The game play is fluid and responsive and runs well on 144fps. The mechanics are very simple and there's no real progression, so dying is the only way to end the game. The theme isn't really addressed in a way it's actually relevant. The art and style seem a little random (shooting smileys and stuff)

But still, for just 7h, you did a good job! I still think you could've added a winning condition. After a while, there were so many enemies on screen, my fire rate could not deal with them anymore. That would've been a good time to let the player win :D

god-colo 2020-04-27 06:09

@fabula-rasa Thanks for playing! I'll keep that in mind when developing the post-jam version!

god-colo 2020-04-27 06:10

@duke Thanks for the awesome feedback! The part of letting the player win after a certain time made me think of an idea that I'll implement in the post-jam version! Thanks for playing!

ismael-rodriguez 2020-04-27 19:37

Nice simple entry.I thought I was invincible till I noticed the UI, could use some more player feedback there. Would be nice to see some kind of power up to keep up the the enemy spawn rate.

morriekken 2020-04-27 20:34

It's impressive work like for 7 hours stunt :) Very good music and really smooth control. Good stuff!

Rafal from 4Boa Team

god-colo 2020-04-28 11:49

@ismael-rodriguez Thanks for playing! I'll keep that in mind when developing the post-jam version!

@morriekken Thanks for playing! :smile:

artemftw 2020-04-29 14:59

Great entry! For a game made in 7 hours, it's very nice. The audio is great and the visuals are nice. I'm not really a fan of how it fits in with the theme since you just have to keep the player alive, which is what you do in most games anyway.

Overall it's a pretty good game. Nicely done!

criobite 2020-04-30 00:27

Hey, not bad at all for 7 hours!

ldf-productions 2020-04-30 16:19

Ok, the game is fun, it has very simple but accurate graphics, the audio was nice and the music was very cool but a little bit too loud. I think something cool would be having 1 or 2 variations on enemys as you advance in the game. Anyways, good job!

caberu 2020-04-30 17:06

Very fun to play but you should maybe add even more juicy effects (screenshakes!!!)

god-colo 2020-04-30 17:50

@caberu Thans for the idea! I'll include this in the post-jam version!

gogani 2020-04-30 17:58

Very fun! What I would recommend, is randomizing the pitch of the shooting and hit noises, so it has more variety Otherwise it's fantastic for 7h :D

ryzy27 2020-05-01 10:31

Awesome game. Controls are simple, but responsive. Feedback is great - sound effect after killing the enemy is all you need really to know what is going on. And music adds a lot to the feel.

Difficulty is on the easy side - at the beginning you can get away with destroying enemies by flying into them. But it's always better if it's too easy than too hard.

I had a lot of fun playing it, lasted a bit less than 200 seconds and after that spawn rate was just too much :D

Cheers!

god-colo 2020-05-01 16:36

@gogani Thanks for playing! That's a very interesting idea! Will add that in the post-jam version!

@ryzy27 Thanks for playing! The music really is the keystone in this game!
