It takes a while to wind up, but when it gets going it ramps up quickly! I kind of wish the beginning didn't take so long, but I did like playing this game! Nice job!

b-golda 2020-04-21 04:30

Game crashed a few times in the first 20 seconds of play. Graphics looked nice from what I saw.

abdul-zakkar 2020-04-21 04:33

Nice game! I really liked the guy talking to me over the radio, plus the graphics are simple yet clean and readable. This may be your intention but I would have loved to be able to move around quicker since the buttons were so far away. Interesting mystery with the creature! I hope I didn't miss the reveal if there was one :D

badpiggy 2020-04-21 04:37

Loved the radio cues which came inbetween XD. Shooting felt nice and the game and overall setup were great. Good job man :)

bmacintosh 2020-04-21 04:42

Great concept! Really unique and well-designed. I really wanted to finish it, but died right near the end and was too demoralized to try again. I was sad to have missed some of the dialogue because it started jumping between nodes very quickly at one point. A sound or warning when there was a robot damaging the crate would have been appreciated - they were difficult to see from the back and they really tuck themselves in close and get hard to see.

nathan-wiles 2020-04-21 04:44

Thanks for the comments, everyone! @b-golda that's concerning to hear. Were you playing on the Mac OS build by chance?

pagetb 2020-04-21 07:06

i really liked your game!

nillard 2020-04-21 09:36

Fun concept, running in circles while shooting. Unfortunately I did not get to finish it despite multiple attempts. The game would crash on me at random times, never got farther than the first wave of bots before a crash. Loved that you can't see "it", really adds to the mood.

nathan-wiles 2020-04-21 15:24

@nillard Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Were you playing on the Windows build or the Mac OS one?

theamerican 2020-04-21 16:40

Awesome job. That character dialog gave it character. Visuals looked nice, and the difficulty curve was perfect. Impressive submission!

nillard 2020-04-21 17:17

@nathan-wiles I was playing on Windows build.

virtual-turtle-studio 2020-04-21 19:16

I really liked the game man. Very well balanced (and hard as balls!) but very fun. Managing all these factors can take a little time to get the hang of, but once you do its fun and tough. I love the look you managed to get in two days, the atmosphere is really there. Would have loved to get some more little sound effects in there, but that's all :)

5imon 2020-04-21 19:46

That was fun to play! The dialogues felt absolutely authentic and gameplay was challenging. The bot shadows on the wall helped me out a bit - I guess something like a minimap with radar would help keeping up. Clean game mechanics - she's got a nice rig ;) Thumbs up!

herniewise 2020-04-23 04:15

It was really fun to manage shooting and buttons at the same time. It can benefit from some kind of visual or audio cue telling you that the droids are close to the creature. I lost one run because I did not see the droid coming from the other side

shaolin-dave 2020-04-23 04:56

Unfortunately I can't play this game on Mac, screenshots look good though. I wanted to say I appreciate you sticking with standard FPS controls.

nvrskipgameday 2020-04-23 22:47

This played really well for me! I loved the commentary from my slightly irresponsible boss/coworker. This had a high quality feel to it! Great lighting and mood, too, I really enjoyed it - great job!

tengii 2020-04-23 22:55

I really like the robots. Are they inspired from border lands?

bigquacko 2020-04-23 23:03

Really liked it, great idea really well executed. Found it a bit difficult, but that's not exactly a bad thing.

pilarius 2020-04-23 23:37

The game looks very interesting could you add an WebGl version of it? It would probably attract more players to try it out :)

nathan-wiles 2020-04-23 23:59

Thank you so much for the great feedback everyone!

@tengii they were inspired by what I figured I could mock up in ten minutes with ProBuilder, lol, but yes I think subconsciously I was pulling from a desire to shoot at Claptrap. There's actually a reference to him in the dialog after you get the gun.

@pilarius I would have loved to have, but I ran into a game-breaking bug in the WebGL build which couldn't be fixed in time. It had to do with raycasts not registering, which is apparently a known issue.

rustywolf 2020-04-26 06:23

Start's a little slow, feel like you could have had a similar setup without so much walking between. But between the beauty of the game, and the pace when it gets rolling, you've really cracked onto something

ursagames 2020-04-26 20:30

The personality of my radio boy really shines through and you did a great job writing him. It's humorous as to how far a game's aesthetic can go with great lighting and cubes. All in all a solid defend-the-tower (is that a genre?) type game; the having to monitor the varying stats was a needed and well balanced touch. Go Nathan woo

nathan-wiles 2020-04-27 15:49

@sugarsores wouldn't have looked as good without your help on the lighting! Thank you!!

sypdev 2020-04-27 17:00

Liked the robots, liked the game!

moffkalast 2020-04-28 12:06

Haven't seen any crashes, pretty well made too! The intro talk/tutorial was a really nice addition, it eases you into gameplay very well.

Perhaps adding a sprint and jump would make it more fun to play. As it stands it's kind of slow to get around.

daria-toni 2020-04-29 16:00

The game continues to crash after the phrase "babysit you". So sad, I really wanted to try this one! The graphics look cool, by the way. Maybe some update later?

justcamh 2020-05-02 07:00

The game is really cool, I love the tension of it all. The first time I got a call from the colleague I had a bit of a jump scare moment, it was so loud and sudden. I was also surprised when I got given a gun, it got really hard at the end. When I heard about the drones, I was looking to the sky, the description of it sounded like the enemies would be flying around. I also wish you could move faster, perhaps a run? I played quite a few times, and got very used to the level layout, by the end I was walking up the ramp backwards whilst shooting dudes, which felt *awesome*. I think I was about to win when the game crashed, and there'd been a few other unfortunate crashes before that too.

I tried again, and whilst I really like your tutorial, it's a bit slow to come back to. I finally beat it, and gosh darn did it feel rewarding. There really is so much to think about, and it's completely manageable. And then right at the end, it's a perfect amount of stress and a perfectly timed ending, super cathartic stuff. It took quite a few tries, due to crashes and the difficulty of it, but beating it was *worth it*. Nice audio, and the graphics were good too. It's a brilliantly designed game, congrats!
