Grats on your first game and LD! Great job :)
nice first project! pretty fun! i played it a couple of times. i noticed it wasn't possible to click on the tiles behind the water. good luck ;)
It was a very nice game keep it up . Highscore: 156
I'm really impressed that as your first game, you made this in 30 hours! Definitely don't let this be your last game ever. Keep it up!
Really solid simple game! And congrats on your first game jam! One tiny piece of advice is to add a short sentence on this page saying how to play - I wasn't sure at first and took some unnecessary damage. But the core game is solid and it was fun to play. Good work!
@kristinamay thanks for the advice, now I've fixed that :)
Simple, fun, really solid execution for a first game, especially considering it was made in 30 hours. Good job
it took me a few seconds to realize i need to click on where i want to go....but it is fun! Maybe you can change the color of the warning circle because I always consider it to be wet already. But it is fun! And this is my first game jam and first game so I know how hard it is, congratulations!
Great job on your first game! Impressive artwork for under 30 hours.
Congrats on your first game jam! Fun & original game idea. It seems to me that the best strategy is to try to stay in the center and only move to the corners to avoid being hurt, this way you get more escape routes. Good job!

Crisp and simple, with appealing graphics and a clear, easy-to-understand design. Very nice, especially for a first attempt.
Hello! I love the cute candle art. I really wanted to save his flame from going out poor thing. Great job making it easy to figure out how to play without complex instructions, that's definitely an asset in game jam games. Idea for future improvement: level variations with larger grids, more hazards, maybe some bonuses.
@caramelcode special thanks for the "cute candle art", it was very sacred process drawing it, I'm programmer, not an artist, if you know what I mean :)
About the improvements: I wrote down for myself a lot of ideas from the start of game jam but lack of skills and time did their job :)
Easy to play. I think special events may occur from time to time.
This game has the possibility to evolve. first game!
Welcome to the Ludum Dare community! Nice job with your first game. The art style of candle is super nice. I think the game speed should start slowly and go up over time, to make it more challenging. Here is my best score:

This is a fantastic first attempt at a jam game - working out what you can complete to a decent standard is a big part of the challenge, I think. This might be simple, but it looks good, it's easy to pick up and play, and everything generally feels well put together.
In terms of areas to improve, I wasn't certain initially whether the blue circles represented the shadow of rain about to fall, or a puddle of water coming up from the ground (and if the latter, whether I could safely jump into/over them). I'm still not absolutely certain at what point squares with anything on them become safe/harmful (since obviously the whole point of the game was to try and stay on the clear ones!). A little more audio would also be welcome - maybe some drippy water sounds for when rain falls.
All in all, though, a great entry - especially for your first go at something like this. I hope you will come back with another entry for a future jam!
Congrats on the first game! It's fun even though it's simple.
I made it up to 194. It was a bit tricky to know when I could jump between the platforms and when I couldn't. Maybe make the visuals more clear for the next one. It was fun to save myself from the water, though I didn't feel like much was changing as I was playing, so it got a bit repetitive. Still I was glad I got as far as I did, and it reminded me of Beauty and the Beast :) thank you for the game.
Nice little game! The character is pretty cute, I wish there was more backstory!
The core idea is simple but pretty well done, nice job for the first compo entry done in 30 hours.
One area that might require some work IMHO is difficulty (which is always so hard to make right): once I grasped the basic concepts of gameplay the difficulty stopped rising pretty quickly and hence stopped giving me challenge but rather waiting for me to make a mistake
Good job anyways!
I was streaming my playthrough of your game, here's a recording in case you'd like to see it https://youtu.be/1s0mnrLO_ak
Great compo entry. Well balanced and I felt I could keep playing as long as my concentration held up  so the AI was fair. Well done... ss6.png
Great job on your first game! A simple concept done well. I enjoyed the time that I played. It is strangely satisfying to move the candle. Keep at it!
Nice job, especially for your first LD game! Welcome! I certainly cared about my new friend Candler's safety and wanted to do my best to keep him from getting wet! Poor lil guy! Ended up getting a 173 score!
Sweet graphics, sound effects and working gameplay that is fun. What more can we expect from a good game in a jam?
Great work, and especially awesome since it is your first jam game.
The only thing you could improve is the explaination of the control (i.e. that you have to ** click ** with the mouse)
Very nice for a first! A simple idea quite well implemented. I appreciate how you cared about giving good visual information about where raindrops are going to fall next. Some instructions on how to play would be nice, but it didn't take too many seconds to find out how to play. Pretty graphics, too.
See you on the next Ludum Dare!
