LD51 — Every 10 seconds

A Fly's Life by recursor 2022-10-03T18:16:13Z

Really liked the buzzing sound and the cute pixel graphics. Was it supposed to end at the hopper level since you couldn't kill them with the swatter? I couldn't move to the next level even after eating all the food. Regardless it was pretty fun!

TchouTchou: the game by sebbernery 2022-10-03T19:07:42Z

I found the delay in getting/sending resources a bit confusing and hectic. Very creative and innovative take on the theme though!

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-03T18:51:50Z

The dragon was cute but I found the gameplay to be a bit lacking. I can see how it would be frustrating to wait 10 seconds before firing, but it's also trivial to win if you can spam the fire key. I also felt the controls to be too floaty. I did like how there were so many enemy types and different tile types to keep things interesting.

Particle Clash by Steffo 2022-10-03T18:55:56Z

Really neat idea to include local multiplayer. I do wish that there was a singleplayer mode, it doesn't need to be AI controlled just another pre-sorted particle.

Sheeple by Jonathan Holm 2022-10-03T17:59:38Z

Cute little game that controls very nicely. I loved the twist that comes!

miam by yopox 2022-10-04T03:46:45Z

This was a very creative take on the theme. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once I got the hang of it I found myself having a lot of fun. I will say once I got to the point where I didn't need to look at the menu anymore, it didn't feel like the changing menu was relevant. Overall very well done!

Nova Pulse Bakery by WegPast 2022-10-04T20:53:50Z

It took me a bit to realise that the predicted pulses were not two elements at a time, but rather one at a time. Once I got that down I was able to figure out how to make the extremely difficult process to make some space bread. Great art and creative concept!

10 Snekonds by YogurtTheHorse 2022-10-04T20:32:06Z

The art is what obviously stood out, but I also really like the creative take on snake! I would have liked there to be some kind of default attack on all the blocks since it just feels bad to be lugging around some dead weights and slime. I also encountered a weird bug where I died but the game froze instead of restarting (maybe I was shot by a turret then by the pyramid?). Anyways great game, you guys did a fantastic job!

Space Buggers by Minipeps 2022-10-03T16:31:07Z

A straightforward take on the theme with a wave every 10 seconds. I found the starting gold wasn't nearly enough to mount a defense and it just feels bad as a player to have to let those buggers slip through my one measly turret. Then I discovered the bugger's weakpoint: pathing. Because you can sell and place things nearly instantly I created a maze with two openings that I opened and blocked which made the buggers walk back and forth around my turrets. They could even be trapped in a corner where they couldn't pathfind out of it which actually made it fun again to corner and blast those buggy buggers!

Drunk Wizard by Nbrowning5 2022-10-03T19:38:32Z

The attacks were very interesting and creative, I liked the randomness which forces you to do some quick thinking. My favorite has got to be turning to a drunken giant and stomping everything to death.

Sleepcheckers by Ehon 2022-10-03T23:52:09Z

The first thing I noticed was how amazing the art is for the game! Nice world building and general vibe. I would suggest making it more clear that you have to write the entire prompt, I started with the email and didn't realize that I had to write the "write mail:" portion too. Overall a pretty neat take on the theme!

HACK THE PLANET by jess from online 2022-10-04T19:58:32Z

That was an amazing experience, I loved all the little touches that really gave the game a lot of character. Only criticism is that the 'hacks' became very repetitive. Other than that, loved the whole vibe of it!

Torquemada, Heretic Slayer by Kostas Nik 2022-10-03T19:27:05Z

FYI the embedded version didn't load for me so I played the html5 web version. It felt really nice to go around blasting enemies with fireballs. However the candles stacked up really fast so the 10 second timer didn't really feel that important. Really cool idea and concept by limiting the player's vision!

Pandora’s Box [WebGL/Win/Touch] by AJ Studio 2022-10-03T19:50:17Z

Very cute graphics but the platforming was frustrating for me. It felt like the character was sliding too much when moving so even after I let go of the arrow keys Pandora would still continue sliding forward. I did like the dynamic lighting, it's a cool effect.

The Little Bot That Could by Xenoparticle 2022-10-03T18:42:41Z

@peter-jonsson During the brainstorming phase I had planned to add enemies, spikes, gates (button/pressureplate trigger), conveyer belts, a dash upgrade (use it once per charge) but I ran out of time. Oh well, I'm pretty happy with how the core gameplay turned out.

The Little Bot That Could by Xenoparticle 2022-10-04T15:55:33Z

@alpacalypse Thanks for noticing! I wanted to subtly guide the player without explicit directions and it looks like it worked.
