Cool Idea but there are some bugs that annoy a bit :)
Cute! Fits the theme quite well. I like the premise, but try as I might I wasn't able to figure out how to collect more sand from the pile. After placing my initial collection of sand, there was nothing that I could do but remove tires and six-pack rings and watch my epic sand castle slowly fall to the relentless sea.
How long does she take to get the $?%#! camera? Funny concept here. Not a bad tower defense game.
I think maybe the bar isnt visible when collecting from the sand pile. I had also thought it wasnt working but holding down I did get sand. I had a double wall going.
I thought the graphics were good for the timeframe. Things were executed well enough to get the point across and it worked. All around a nice entry.
Good job making a game in 48 hours!
Quite a charming game! The sand pile is perhaps positioned too far up. It took me a little bit to figure out how all of the gameplay elements work, but I had quite a bit of fun after. The water wave effect is epic!
Very Fun game, although the controls don't always work for me.
Interesting game, can't wait for the anime adaptation. Unfortunately I couldn't find the sand pile despite looking for a good little while, so I couldn't really do all that much after I had built my initial sand-walls.
Was a bit complicated to understand the control scheme at first, but past that, it was funny!
Love the idea and how silly it looks, couldn't quite understand the controls or how to place more protecting tiles. A better interactive in game explanation would have really helped. Also that's quite the title haha!
I really dig the art. It's a little unclear where to get more sand at first, but I enjoyed playing your game!
Nice use of the them - clear game instructions - good job
I think I both won and lost? I ended up seeing both pictures haha. It was fun! It was hard to tell where exactly I was placing things and where to click to remove the trash, but I still had fun! Funny idea and well done!
Hilarious title and interesting concept!
The title is amazing. The game was also fun.
This long title grabbed my eye and thinking, even had a story of my own with some twists before even starting the game. Bugged, aye, but felt that urge of defending my sprouts! Good job!
A really charming and unique take on the theme. There were some minor bugs but nothing soft/hard locking. A solid and fun entry!
I love this take on the theme. Tide, waves, sand castles. It's instantly recognizable with its connection to inevitable!
Interesting concept, liked the sound design. took a couple of goes to get the hang of it. Well done.
Good attempt as for your first game, congratulation on joining Ludum Dare! I like the Light Novel/Anime vibe in the title  I think your idea for the game fits the theme nicely. I also have memories of trying to build walls that were constantly being washed away by waves, it was fun back then :)
I managed to finish it but I've encountered a couple of bugs mostly with the disappearing progress bar, because of that it wasn't always clear if I'm doing something or not. Clarity is something to work on; I was never sure which wall will crumble on the next wave. When is the next wave coming? Is small trash fish lower risk than a trash can?
Personally, I think the game would become more lively if you speed up the character, and lowered the time on sand gathering, like in an Overcooked game, it is fast and crazy. There are much more things to add, I encourage you to work on it post jam because it has potential.
Overall good job, I'm looking forward to seeing what you cook up next time :ocean: :hourglass_flowing_sand: :european_castle:
Now this is a neat idea I haven't seen before!
I actually liked the "pillars" of waves that were coming towards the castle, it was a pretty neat visual aesthetic.
I can't say I was able to figure out a "strategy" for the game, though. As far as I could tell, I had 10 blocks of sand that I could put down anywhere, but I had no way of refilling my inventory once I set them down. I used right click to remove one of the walls at one point, thinking it would put sand in my inventory to place somewhere else, but it just disappeared instead. :slight_frown:
Regardless, I still respect the unique entry you guys guy goin' on here. Congrats on your first jam!
