I LOVED THIS GAME ! PERIOD.the pseudo 3d effect was the main ingredient since it changed the perspective which is typically used for platformers .Add more juice and systems to the game and you have an industry banger
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD50 → Volcanic Dash

Thanks for the feedback
Very nice game! The camera being slightly on an angle added a lot to the aesthetic. The lava rising concept was well done here and the see saw was a nice gimmick to add. When you're making platformers, you can add coyote time to make it feel really good. This is really great for your first game jam!
Really neat. Very simple, easy to pick up (once I'd limited my FPS cap to 60 on my laptop...) and a clever use of the theme. Proud of you! Good job!
Really fun and simple great job this ludum dare. I really hope if you participate again I can find and play your game.
i wish the game wasnt beatable in 30 seconds
There's no way to play this on Mac. The link you state is for all platforms only contains an EXE
@chuckeles unity lied to me
Solid game, loved the splash image at the start and like others have said, the camera angle/framing makes things a little more interesting. Nice visual effects with the torches, as well. Rising-lava levels are an interesting take on the theme, and good work for your first jam!
that jump isn't possible my dude
@markymark it has an issue where you need to limit fps to 60 sorry if that caused an inconvenience
Nice game for your first game jam! The camera trick is so simple but it adds so much and makes the game stand out from countless platformers.
Good job!
Really cool for your first jam! I've never seen a seesaw in a 2d platformer before, so that was cool :) The lava was very stressful because a single missed jump meant doom. Good stuff
Pretty solid game! In the future, try to decouple FPS from the gameplay because I also suffered from the frame limit issue. Also, I sometimes (rarely?) managed to jump off of the lava without it killing me. Other than those two issues, it's a pretty neat game!
@frib thanks for pointing out an issue i haven't noticed
veru fun game! the character kinda jittered around a bit, but the platforming was really good + well-designed levels.
Good work for a first jam! I think like others were saying the movement was tied to framerate so at my framerate the jumps were impossible to make. There is a bug where you can jump off the lava if you time it right though, so I was able to progress some at least.
For a first jam this is a good effort indeed. Fun to play. The controls are kind of hard but i read above that's because the movement is tied to the framerate. Which explains a lot. My framerate was very high. :-) I also found the bug where you can jump of the lava if you time it right like @lychee already pointed out. But overall great entry. Keep improving and show us next jam what you can do!
Short but sweet! I also had the framerate issues the others were talking about, but don't worry too much about that, it's nigh impossiblle to notice and bugtest that in the short LD dev time. Really nice work for a first LD!
Good job on your first Jam entry! I hope you had fun creating! The graphics have their own styling and it is great to see that you thought about sound-effects. The gameplay is not as easy as the game implies though haha, it kept mocking me that I lost at the easy level :P
I like your entry, good job. I wish you luck at the quest to get to the 20 ratings! I see that you already rated 13 games, maybe rate 10 more with quality feedback. That way you get a higher chance to receieve feedback back. But hurry up, my experience is that the comunity is most active in the first week.
The 2.5D experience really adds to the challenge, takes a while to get used to but definitely adds extra fun! The text in the level was cool for explaining how things work, I always love that approach to teaching the player. Well done on a super cool first jam!!
For a first jam, that's a great entry ! You can be proud of what you've done in 48h hours, the physics have flaws, as others stated, but everything works and you avoided a lot of level and game design traps a lot of beginners do, which make the game quite fun to play, so well done !
I like the camera angle you choose here and great level design.
Interesting idea with the angled camera, it gave the graphics a nice flavor.
The game was actually pretty hard for me. It's a pity that the game is dependent on the frame rate, like the others, I also had issues jumping over the first lava pit (144hz monitor, had to cap at 60).
Also, there's a bug with the lava - sometimes you can survive pretty long on it if you just hold the jump button.
Of course, there's always more to be done. For example, the music felt a bit too repetitive for me. But overall, for a first game jam, you can be very proud.
