Good and fun driving, The handling reminds me of some of the messed up physics in the farming simulator games . Nice music and audio aswell! I like it!

Hahaha, that was quite the journey! I'm still not sure what the hell was going on. The intro starts with an idyllic village scene that's disrupted by a meteorite, and all of a sudden there's an angry banana-carrot-eggplant with guns! Okay, so you start the game, and you're driving a combine (what?), and angry watermelon-peas start suiciding on your harvester. I tried dropping them off at the depo, but I got stuck, which is when I discovered the EPIC "unstuck" somersault harvester piledriver move, which seemed to give me some points. But then I went back to the field and there were more peas, but I could no longer use the somersault without spilling the peas I collected, and dumping them all directly under myself allowed them to kill me instantly.

8/10, would play again.

Haha, I love the idea. Did not expect such a change between the intense intro and driving around in a tractor with chill music, just collecting them. Nice!

daivyishere 2023-01-26 09:13

The truck looks like a lobster to me. Pretty cute little game!

amolker 2023-01-26 09:26

@daivyishere I was thinking the same thing while we were making it XD

rik-thunder 2023-01-26 13:54

i likethe pea humor. I'm terrible at drivinggames though. So it was a semi difficult experience. I got stuck on a fence while the peas kept ramming into me.

realtanhen 2023-01-26 14:20

I got stuck on fences like... A lot because I'm dumb. The concept of being able to spill the peas back out and having to fight them again was a great one, felt really innovative!

Physics and animations blended together really well and looked juicy, especially the tractor and the different crops around the crystal area. Theme was met as accurately as possible. The tractor handled well and the "unstuck" ability worked great, even tho I didn't get stuck it felt nice to use xd.

The way the collected crops appeared in the cart behind your tractor with physics and possibility of spilling over was really well made, felt really solid. The bumpy fields in the beginning made for a clever hazard as the crops spilled over if you drove too recklessly. The intro video linked on the jam page looked like a nice touch, but for some reason it failed to play at the beginning while playing in browser on my machine (the ability to skip it was a good addition in my case^). The main objective was a bit unclear tho, even with the arrows pointing to where you should go (?). There was no visible score either, which made the objective a bit confusing. But other than those minor complaints, you have a great entry here, very unique and solidly executed concept!

Had the most fun just driving around sliding of stuff, would have wished for some camera controls.

fuzzyat 2023-01-26 17:03

This was really fun, good job! Big props for including multiple different enemy types that behave very differently. The dark zone feels like a nice progression in terms of difficulty.

The driving felt natural and fun and the fact that enemies can fall out and "respawn" makes this really dynamic.

For me, the intro was also black with sound, so thanks for linking it on this page. I was also confused at first before figuring out that returning the crops you found progresses you to the next goal. But that's only minor stuff. Sound design was great as well.

hayricakir 2023-01-26 17:29

Soooo fun to play, great visuals and nice music. It is a very solid entry, good job!

oadt 2023-01-26 18:48

Cool entry! I especially liked the last stage that made even more sense once I saw the into video (played the webgl version were the into only played sound). I know that the tractor should be a bit hard to contol, but I wish it would have been a tiny bit more easier to control at high speeds and when driving backwards  I liked that crop falling of the trailer is attacking you again and you made a good job of not letting them fall of the trailer too easily. Maybe some indication of when you fully harvested a field would be useful but overall great work!

hayricakir 2023-01-26 19:04

It feels so good to drift in this game :D My game has a very similar mechanic where you drift with a tractor and shred zombies in slowmo, if you would like to check it out, I would love to hear your feedback because you really did a great job on vehicle controls, mine is a bit janky :(

carei 2023-01-26 19:19

Awesome game! Visuals are great, especially the vegetables. In addition, the controls feel unresponsive in just the right way to make the experience of riding a truck feel realistic. I never thought hunting vegetables could feel so satisfying. However, while playing the game, I noticed a few bugs regarding the back of the truck. Most notably, sometimes an enemy would enter inside the collision box, and it would follow you no matter what you did. Also, there are ways it can get stuck, and you can't move anymore. You did a great job with the harvesting mechanic, and it fits the game really well, but I think the game itself would be more fun without the back of the truck

durkagames 2023-01-26 19:39

We were frustrated by the lack of an ending in the game. The sound of harvesting was very cute!

amolker 2023-01-26 19:49

@carei thanks for the feedback! I also thought that without it it would be more dynamic and more fun, just catch vegetables and all that. But it is what it is, at least it's a pretty original idea with all that physics.

johnnysix 2023-01-26 21:27

It was fun driving over the peas , the sound effects were great. I really wanted to drift the combine-harvester though haha :sob:

Making stuff like fences etc also rigidbody / destructable would be cool too, especially the fences which you can get caught up on.

cole-and-jordan-studios 2023-01-26 21:30

The graphics and physics on the tractor are great! What did you use for it, is it using the Unity Wheel system? A great submission, enjoyed it a lot.

georg-schenzel 2023-01-26 22:04

Loved that its phyisics based and I had to be carefull with my trailer. The sound effects gave me a chuckle :)

profan 2023-01-26 22:31

This is a great entry, and really delivered on more than I expected, because I mean being able to do a backflip in your harvester and have your harvester then instantly be covered in the little angry garden peas you just harvested (or watermelons? they seem to scale dramatically, i assume when they have been harvested they're less angry and thus like pufferfish, shrink when they do not feel threatned) I think makes up for most things :D

The driving physics were really nice too and past the initial awkwardness of figuring out how they worked, worked pretty well, though the backflip is definitely not what I expected from a command like "unstuck" but it worked in the game's favour really!

If there's anything to remark on it would be that there wasn't a clear "end" to the game really, and that initially when driving around harvesting crops it was easy to get "lost" and lose track of where to drop off your angry little peas :) (but that really wasn't a big problem by any means)

Nice work! (also is crophunt a play on prophunt?)

amolker 2023-01-27 00:08

@profan thanks for your great feedback! Yes, crophunt is a play on prophunt and sounds funny 😂

digivorix 2023-01-27 07:09

It's a fun little game. The controls were a little hard to get used to at first, but I eventually got the hang of them.

digital-bacon 2023-01-27 10:22

Great fun to be had. Good graphics and sound, and interesting gameplay. I especially liked the veges that bounce out of your trailer rejoining the battle against you, really amps up the desperation! Well done!
