It was confusing in the beginning understanding what to do but once you figure it out it is really enjoyable. I loved the game over outros as well, a very nice touch :)

Well done!

Hah, a nice (but very stressful) game to play. Fits the theme perfectly. Great job!

oh!!! this is a gem. it's super engaging and difficult and i've definitely played it for longer than i planned to. amazing job with this one! love the gameplay and the balancing took a while to understand, but amazing game :)

pbg 2021-10-04 12:18

Ambitious and fun! Considering how many things you have to balance, I might have made the character controls a little tighter - it's just one more thing to worry about right now. Maybe this doesnt even need to be a platformer? I could see this being fun on a touchscreen and just manually handling the dials. Really cool set of systems, and you really nailed the theme.

I was confused a bit at the beginning, but after few tries it became very satisfying and a bit stressful. I like the clicky sound of the controls and the "At least it didn't blew up" screen

Greta idea, great implementation, well done! Also once you understand what to do the difficulty gets higher pretty smoothly introducing more and more chaos to the system. Love it. It's very hard to get this in such a short time, great job!

Its a really cool game! I loved the art and the mood of the game was super. I really enjoyed the mechanics too (which felt nicely balanced), and that you have to control a reactor-power plant. The reactor sound effects were great, i wish they were a bit louder in the beginning. The blow-up animation was also excellent in the end. Well done, really nice work!

Thank you all for your feedback!

@pbg I asked myself if I really needed it to have a character. I decided to go platformer so that it challenges you to prioritize how you move around and what you do first.

You did a pretty bad job at explaining the mechanics in game. Touching B/C locking you out of progressing without any real clue why was just awful. Couple of completely failed runs in I slowly started understanding what to actually do. But I still can't get past the point where you need to start powering the second turbine.

Ok, I lied. Went for some more tries and it seems like you need to lower the output of turbine A at that point. My bad for not paying close enough attention to the goal board. Now the biggest annoyance is waiting those 20 second maintain timers while nothing to do as everything is stable.

Other than the not helpful instructions and a very steep learning curve and difficulty, the game was very solid. It controls very nicely and everything works as it should. The jumping controls did have some floatiness and getting stuck on platforms but that wasn't an issue as the platforming really was just the means of transportation and not the key gameplay mechanic.

A small annoyance also was how you had to use mouse to start/restart while the game was only played with the keyboard. It was also possible to keep jumping near the wall (faulty ground detection) and eventually go out of the play area and completely soft lock.

Oh and the warning lights remain there too long bringing a bit of a "boy who cried wolf" thing to the table. Might be intended too. 🤷‍♂️ And sometimes when warning light/sound starts and you're at the top platform, you can't even reach the valve fast enough to react.

Okay, one more final try...

Yeah no, got to the part where you start powering the final turbine but can't figure out how to not stall.

Anyways, good job! 👍

Thank you @antti-haavikko! I checked your games and I'm humbled to get a feedback that detailed from a very experienced game dev. I knew the mechanics would be hard to understand at first sight, and I thought the hints at the beginning would be enough. I wanted to have visual feedback from the pipes, seeing the water flow into the core, and leave as steam, but had to cut that out because of time. That could have helped to understand what is happening.

antti-haavikko 2021-10-04 19:32

Probably yeah and not understanding the given hinta and visible cues that were there were most likely my fault. At least the mechanics were learnable through bashing my head against it even without understanding the instructions. 😅

Loved it!! Got rly far and ended blacking out. Mechanics are rly good. Feels awesome to have the 3 running with a tweak that makes them last a lot before they go red light. Audio is terribly good. Needs a story!

Fun and difficult!

lumbigui 2021-10-05 14:14

So many cool mechanics. Loved the use of the theme. I was very confusing at the beggining but when i figure out i like the concept very much. Good job!

I lost my job at nuclear reactor and I like this. Graphics is ok almost like the old dos software that ran those days in this kind of facilities.

alec 2021-10-05 22:42

As some others have mentioned, it was a bit difficult for me to understand the mechanics at first. I could not figure out which lever was which and nuked the place twice before I got the hang of it. That being said, once I figured evertything out the gameplay was really smooth and polished. I could easily see myself getting sucked into playing this game for longer than intended.

schuster 2021-10-06 00:34

My first meltdown was in like 20 seconds! I really like the game when it starts to get frantic

madjackmcmad 2021-10-06 04:39

Great work, you should be proud of this. There's a touch of confusion at first but you work with the time you have and this is a fine game. I think you found the right amount of crazy in the pacing. The two outros I saw were really well done also.

hcs-hades 2021-10-06 04:52

Great all round product!

Why I can't rate your "Humor" category? I find it game over very hilarious. Good game!
