Really like the aesthetics of the game and it's art
I love the graphics and the mood of the game!
The graphics were great! I wish the jumping was higher. I quit after trying and failing to get over a monster like 10 times.
That this is so complete and has so much variety in its level design is really impressive. The animations, pixel art and music are all fantastic. Overall -- great job.
I got stuck in the third level, and only really have nit-picky feedback.
Some of the step platforms seem to be *very* close to the player's jump height, which makes the parts of the game that should be easy more frustrating, and sometimes the game plays the jumping animation twice when getting stuck on one of these corners. The parts of the game where real platforming is required (e.g. bouncing off mushrooms) works much more smoothly.
In the third level, the behavior of the gate sprites was the opposite of what I expected. The gates face towards the screen when they're locked, and towards the player's character when they're unlocked.
the background graphics and cutscenes are amazing!!! Super well done for the short amount of time of the game jam.
I think the movement mechanics were a bit rough, I had issues with colliding and being launched in weird angles. I would have been happy with 1 less level and smoother jumping/collisions. The overall mood of each level was great, the music and environment paired well together.
Very polished game! I really enjoyed the art for all of the levels! The one tile high jumps was kinda jank without enough momentum but other than that it was really well made, great job!
This game is so visually pleasing! I also love the Alice in Wonderland theme it had. I really wanted to love the gameplay, but some parts of it were a bit hard to play. More than once on two different levels, I got stuck between two monsters and was tossed around endlessly. I wish there was a way to restart the level without having to refresh and start all over. Congrats on making this amazing beautiful game! :rabbit2:
man, the amount of polish in this game is impressive! The art, music, level design are are super good! Even the amount of mechanics is impressive. My only complaint is that the platforming felt a little loose.
amazing job overall!
I got stuck at this section: Capture.PNG
Really realy nice art! Especially liked the parallax background on the second level. I normally wouldn't mention it, but since the pixel art is so nice, I have to say that I think the art did suffer a bit by not being rendered pixel-perfect. I haven't used unity much, but I know it makes that unreasonably difficult. I did get a decent result before using the [unity pixel perfect 2d camera package](https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.2d.pixel-perfect@3.0/manual/index.html). My LD47 entry used it, and it worked quite well (you can find it on my profile, if you want an example)
This is a beautiful game, and my favorite interpretation of the theme that I've seen so far! The monster and environment art are awesome, and I felt really invested in the character's journey by the end. The door puzzles in level 3 were very satisfying. I was legit starting to get scared running from the faceless doctors in level 4, the feeling of disorientation from flipping upside down created a lot of tension. Realizing what was happening to the character at the end was a good emotional payoff, and the way the monster designs became more visibly doctor-ish in each level finally clicked. This was really well thought out!
These are minor nitpicks, but I would have liked a slightly higher jump height. It sometimes took me a couple of tries to get over simple obstacles. And there was a part in the second level where I got stuck bouncing on two side by side mushrooms, where the monsters on the platform above knocked me back onto them. It took a lot of of button mashing to escape that loop. But other than those minor inconveniences, I really enjoyed this game.
There seems to be a lot of hardwork put into art since it looks really awesome! but then the bunny hop jump is good too sometimes it feels a bit off but its mostly good, overall a good visual game
Love the art and design! I liked when I thought I got stuck but the doctor knocked me away, that was hilarious. btw the Yume Nikki reference fits well.
@wheybags Thank you for playing! This is supposed to be the puzzle and you need to think another way to go pass him :) and thank you for the package!
Real nice, the art, animation and level design are all great.
The graphics are beautiful, the atmosphere is great. I would have liked the character to be more fluid in his movements, but it's still a great game!
What a fantastic little game. Art and atmosphere were awesome. Not a fan of the floaty controls and some dodgy level design, but served their purpose in the end I guess. Also made me feel feelings so thats a plus.
This is a beautiful entry, graphics and music are spot on (at least that's a style I personally really like). As other people already mentioned, with a higher jump the game would be more enjoyable. That's a really good entry altogether for me, well done!
I'm still dizzy from the last level, I feel like this textbox is upside down lol. Warning, spoilers ahead.
Impressive amount of things achieved, even for a team, having multiple levels with multiple mechanics. Smart puzzles as well. It was a good call to prevent health loss / dying on touch with enemies, lets you explore puzzles and levels in peace. Though my first 5 seconds in the game were instant death as I decided to try jumping down. I'm just glad the girl wakes up rather than dies, some games are just irresponsible in this regard.
Very nice audio as well. But of course graphics are the strongest point, characters and background in particular. Was a treat to play those surreal levels in full screen.
The art and sound design in the game are really good. It sets a really nice tone, however the platforming feels really stiff and definitely gave me some trouble in spots. However, it aesthetic told a great story. There is a portion of the end there that felt very impactful.
Well done!
Really cool game and awesome mood! I got to the level with doctors but got stuck between two doctors and could not move at all. The psychedelic graphics was so nice!
The artwork is fantastic! I just wish the controls were a bit more responsive. I had trouble getting off of ladders. Overall great job!
I was lowkey struggling(not very gamer of me), but I really liked the art so I watched a walkthrough to see past where I got stuck haha. I love the pink level so much !
I love this game. I can't say enough about it, so I'm not even gonna try.
Just awesome. It's not only about the amount of work you did in terms of levels, mechanics, art assets. But it's about the story and the mood and the heartbreaking final. The only complain I have is the controls, jumps are a bit clumsy. If you fix this, it would be a finished indie game made with passion and heart. Thank you for that wonderful emotional experience!
Thank you all for your kind comments !
After the voting period has passed we will improve the controls :)
The game fits the theme really well. Art and sounds are so good, so polished! Would be cool if controls ran smoother and there was some way to restart the level (got stuck between two monsters). Looking forward to see the post-jam version, keep up the good work!
