Nice little game! The falling animation was super cute and the art in general was just really nice. The combat definitely need a bit more polish because it's quite hard to tell whether or not you'll hit an enemy or if you've even done damage, but overall I had fun.

Nice little game, I was too tired after our own submission tonight. Thats probably why I did not get every mechanic right away. Even though you did make it very clear with all the cool hints ingame. I really liked the artwork. Hope to see more submissions from you in future Jams :thumbsup:

The graphics are insane. I love the global atmosphere of the game, there is a lot of humor, fun and little details on the arts. I regret the "hit confirmation" didn't know if i hit or miss enemies, in particular the Boss. He kicked my butt btw. There is a true something behind all of this, it's a good game.
Ok I laughed pretty hard when I saw that I could "übervomit". I really liked the graphics designs, especially the jump and falling animations. The biggest porblem I had was with the combat, for the same reasons that were already mentions, but it still is a great work that you did overall, and we have a fun little game in the end.

I really like the amount of details there is in the environment! It really gives the feeling of a vast consistent world, that extends beyond what we see on the screen. It fits wells with the sensation of falling into the center of the Earth. (kudos for the eyes that follow you, it's an easy to miss detail but it makes a huge difference)
I had a bit more troubles with the fighting mechanics. I haven't been able to use the vomit on any snail, and it took me several tries to understand how to beat the boss. The rule of having the only attack that can defeat it being limited is also weird: am I soft-locked if my health drop below 90 in front of the boss? Something I don't understand as well is the speed button. I just press it once at the beginning of the game because that speed is more comfortable! :P The irony of a snail going fast is nice though, but it could have been used more I think.
That being said, I still had a great time exploring the world of this game! Tons of fun details, pleasant art and animations, and nice platformer mechanics with even some bonus items to catch!:) For a first game, it's really polished. Well done!

Seriously, thanks for your feedback, people. I have changed two things this morning, after a good night of sleep and kicking myself for not thinking about it while making the damn thing: 1) A “Start” button that give’s you a feedback when you overlap it 2) The Evil Snails and the Big Boss give you a visual feedback when you touch them with your Vomit.
This game is funny! And the art is amazing, it's like playing a comics. The animations are really good too :) nice work!

As everyone mentionned it, your graphics are amazing, it really gives a comics vibe ! It will be a pleasure tu see what you can do in my game which is a drawing game ^^. I've exploited a little bug and win easily :p (you can hold the vomit button and keep walking vomiting everywere). Anyway it's a great first game !

got stuck on the big snail boss though as I couldn't work out what the best way to deal damage to it was and I'd always run out of vomit :( Your artwork is ludicrously good though!

The game is pretty cool but it really lavks of feedback, and so you don't understand what your doing. Also, you have to mush live and even by taking the damage of aproximately all the enemy, I still won. I think you need a little bit of tweaking on these.

Really fun game ! I'm in love with all the details in the background, it's fun and truly add something to the game atmosphere. The only thing that i'm not sure about is the "vomit" mechanic because it's hard to use verus enemies. I had a great time, good job !

Really liked the art, amazing amount of detail. Had a bit of trouble using vomit, but very pretty and fun overall!
J'ai réussi à battre le boss :) Ca a surement été dit et ça sera redit, mais les dessins sont magnifiques, et il y a plein de détails sympas dans le décors c'est un plaisir à regarder ! Si je peux donner 2 petits points qui m'ont un peu génés: - Il faut utiliser la souris pour démarrer le jeu, puis tout se joue au clavier, je pense c'est bien de garder une certaine homogénéité. J'ai presse ma touche espace plein de fois avant de comprendre qu'il fallait utiliser la souris. - Un petit manque de feedback sur les hit des ennemies. Même si le changement de couleur est très appréciable, on peut imaginer des choses comme un knockback de l'ennemi et/ou bien un screenshake, et/ou un son.
Après tout ça c'est des petits détails qui prennent du temps qu'on a pas forcément en jam, il y a beaucoup de taff et ça se voit! Bravo!

@pattedecanaard Alors, en fait, j'ai juste pas du tout pensé au feedback des ennemis, j'étais trop la tête dans le guidon, et ça m'est juste pas venu à l'esprit parce que j'avais toujours ma fenêtre de debug ouverte avec les points de vie de chaque ennemi... Enfin, bref, leçon apprise, haha. Merci d'avoir pris le temps pour ce feedback utile !

I absolutely loved the art and world-building in this! The halftone dots were an excellent and very impactful choice. I did find the game a bit too difficult and occasionally unfair, especially when I got to the end and had none of the fancy vomit left and couldn't win. Other than that, though, a really cool experience!
Not much to say that hasn't been said already. Astounding graphics and really nice concept!
It definitely needs a bit of polish on the gameplay department, specially the attacks and a bit of feedback on some actions... but the kinesthetics were on point and it felt great to play and move around. It really reminded me of some great Flash games!
I loved this. I was immediately sold on the art style and the jump animations is very impressive. Admittedly I forgot how uber vomit worked so I died at the end. I found the instructions kind of hard to read at the beginning as well. Regardless, it was funny and clever, especially the plot twist at the end!
I absolutely loved the artstyle in this. Such a classic comic's vibe that I really dig! Great work!
This was a cool game. The graphics were awesome, it is obvious that you have an art background and that you put most of your effort on that. I also liked your sense of humor, the little jokes here and there on the background were quite smart. The whole game reminded me of 90's cartoons, Animaniacs specifically for some reason. Nice choice of soundtrack too. Unfortunately it was too short and the gameplay needed some work, it was quite basic and I felt it was only there to navigate and look at the art, but given how much time you have to do this and the amount of time you probably spent on the graphics, it is expected to cut a few corners here and there.
Overall, this is a very admirable effort for one person.

Yes, keeping it simple was really my choice (and even then, I still forgot basic stuff like the enemies feedback), I wanted to be sure I could finish the game without having too many bugs. Next time (whenever that happens), I will work less on the art, though, and try new mechanics. PS: Level 2 on your game IS easier now. (or I'm better once I have a good night sleep)
@jlmast yeah, it is almost too easy now. I have mixed feelings for that dash update, I want people to suffer :). Thanks taking the time to test it out again.

Amazing audio and graphics! I went through multiple times to read everything :) BUT it's way too hard! Could not manage to go down to the big snake with uber vomit, and possibly that's the reason I couldn't beat it.
Graphics style is wonderful! You are a good designer.

The artstyle you went with was interesting, I could see the effort put into those backgrounds. Gameplay was a bit generic, but given that it's made by one person over a weekend it's not bad. Definitely the strongest part of the game was it's cartoony artstyle, I would definitely like to see you making graphics for more LD games as well!
Awesome thing :) need some polish, but overall - pretty funny.
