Really unique idea! A simple concept but it's definitely fun to dodge the rocks/enemies and grow! Good job!
Cool game! I really like the root games this jam. I feel like collecting water was a little tedious because of how it sent you back a bit whenever you collect some. The music was really chill though and I feel it suited the art style really well.
Hi, I love the music, really calming and relaxing. Only what bothered me a bit was the first UI advices, it took too much of my screen and i didnt know if i should have press something or just wait.
I am Groot?
Really cool concept, fun to play, and I love the dynamic roots mechanic. It seems to lag a bit but that could be my browser.
Very funny concept! I enjoyed the music and the environnement you created :-)
This game is quite fun! The graphics are pleasing, same with the music. And it's really satisfying to see the roots growing, also fits the theme quite well!
Very cool idea. It was a bit hard to fulfill the needs if there wasn't any water close by, but maybe I'm just not good at it. The hitbox of some stones seemed a bit off, but overall i liked the controls.
I don't know why, but this game and alot of other Unity games aren't loading for me. :frowning2:
i hate random! :) thank you for game!!!
Very nice game and fun to play. :ok_hand:
I genuinely enjoyed playing this game. It took me a little while to master the controls, but after I got the hang of it manuvering the roots was easy. Overall, the whole thing is very polished and fun.
This game is quite adorable. I love it.
You made a single player version of Achtung! Love it! Great interpretation of the theme as well. The collisions sometimes do some wonky things, and I'd invert the up and down keys since left and right function relative to the heading direction, but this is an adorable concept executed very nicely. I specifically enjoyed the procedural animation of the diverging roots!
Wow. I grew my first tree with a height of 55 cm! An entertaining game and interesting mechanics
Nice game! Enjoyed it!
I made a similar game (but for the compo), so I had to check this out. I love how smooth the controls are. Big up for the music, it is perfect for setting the mood! Great work!!
i like the idea
Nice and relaxing!
Sweet :) Nice entry, but try to improve the graphics a little!
Very fun game, but a bit too hard on certain tight spot. Also, about the control, they are a bit counter intuitive, and more than that, just add a quick screen to explain the control, I was lost at first.
I enjoyed this! In some places it was kinda hard, but still fun.
Wow! Our games have the same ideas but very different aproaches! I loved it!
There are quite a few "root-themed" games on this jam, and every one of them has its own twist. Yours is very calm and relaxing and it's so satisfying to watch the root growth. I enjoyed playing it, nicely done!
I am root, I am root, I am root, I am root.
Translation:
Really cool! I love how the tree starts asking me for water when it's running low. The roots did have some issues with swerving randomly upon being created, but I'm not going to complain seeing as it made it so that if a root spawned inside of a rock the root would be totally invincible as long as it was inside that rock.
This game is very pleasant to play, it's become quickly addictive. I like the possibility to continue the game with another root branch when the player it something. More effects and audio could improve the juicyness of the game. The draw of the root is very fluid and nice to look at.
Good entry
Wow. I am impressed by simplicity of idea and how clean is implementation. But how did you do roots? Is it a lot of line renderers?
@kohcepba Thanks! And your guess is right. Every time the root branches out we instantiate a new LineRenderer
