Really like the audio and feel of the game. I do wish there was a scoring system just to show some progress in the game. Otherwise great game. Good job!

rogual 2021-10-04 13:21

I love the smooth, slick feel of this one, and the art is great. It's clear you put a lot of effort into polish, which is something I really appreciate when playing. It's one of those games that it's just fun to play with, never mind winning.

Speaking of winning, though, I never managed it. Couldn't seem to figure out why some buildings just stay as little stubs and never totally explode.

SOME OF THE PUNY ANTS DARED TO DEFY ME AND REBUILT THEIR FEEBLE BUILDINGS!

Good fun, and well polished. I did actually feel better after destroying everything

Agree a scoring system would be a nice addition. Perhaps there could be a rival or some danger as well, if you want to take it further.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

@rogual I added a point in the description explaining how city's are destroyed or spawned, hopefully that will help future players.

@chameth I'm glad haha. One of my stretch goals that i didn't end up having time for was to give some of the little people guns to fight back! A rival is interesting.. maybe Tectonica's EX would make an appearance lol

Well done ! Clean work, simple gameplay with a refined artistic direction but full of soul.

The theme implementation is brilliant since it can work on so many levels. The look and sound are really crisp and put you in the right mood to play it. I like the way it controls, you manage to make using only mouse a nice experience and adding a minimap was a great way to avoid getting disoriented. You have something special here.

shigor 2021-10-05 05:17

Lol :) game might be simple, but the description is excellent :) Last time i was playing as an earthquake was 30 years ago in Sim City and this is definitely better earthquake roleplaying simulator :D

caudatecoder 2021-10-05 10:27

Great audio and visuals! Pretty fun to play, nice idea! I've already seen a game in this jam where you build a city defending it against earthquakes and we play as the bad guy. Doesn't last long as there's not much pregression... but hey you can add it after jam. Good job!

jonah-srg 2021-10-05 13:35

Really beautiful pixel art in motion here, the crashing of the buildings and concentric rings of the earthquake have a lot of life. The music is nice, and the gameplay is cathartic. I hope this wasn't inspired by a breakup, but the integration of the theme is good here. It's a lot of fun chasing the little people around. Really excellent art and auditory feedback. Well done!

alec 2021-10-05 16:31

@Jonah_SRG haha thankfully no! An earthquake being in a relationship was just funny to me at midnight lol

mrbell270 2021-10-05 21:25

I request remake with tectonic music :D!

Overall, fun game. Good way to spen some time without pushing your brain.

Great work, keep up!

almightyzentaco 2021-10-06 00:54

The graphics were simple, but very smooth and well done. Nailed the vibe. It's also one of the more interesting interpretations of the theme I have seen. Great job.

mickyhc 2021-10-06 02:24

Great game! The aesthetic worked nicely with the gameplay, and you fit the theme really in a unique and interesting way! I managed to destroy all the cities.

hiko-game 2021-10-06 08:13

Nice artwork and music. Gameplay is fun but difficult for me...

jose-bonilla 2021-10-06 12:51

It's an interesting little game with casual mechanics. I'd love to see some score, combos and/or other incentives to keep playing. Nicely done.

thewustache 2021-10-06 14:27

Beautiful, relaxing little game (despite the subject matter :P). It got out of hand for me for a minute until I figured out how to efficiently level all the cities. The controls feel incredibly smooth -- I think it's because of the camera movement? It definitely fits the game very well. Great entry!

kalevrk 2021-10-06 15:00

Great idea and I love the vibe of the graphics and music. It reminds me a bit of the old Rampage NES game that way. I also love the evil grin of the earthquake when it powers up!

hobzone 2021-10-07 08:39

I really enjoyed this little game. I feel better now I've destroyed everything :D

enad96 2021-10-07 08:42

Establishes mood very well, the little people running about are funny.

ruruie 2021-10-07 08:43

I destroyed everything. I DO feel better! I think maybe what this might need is slightly easier grabbing of powerups. I was spinning around missing them a lot.

alex-chertilin 2021-10-07 08:55

thank you so much. I like to play as a natural disaster. It reminds me my favorite the Carrion. Destroy!)

jon-nova 2021-10-07 09:24

Nice game! i liked how the buildings keep growing back and the little people keep running around. I had some difficult in catching the rings, maybe you need to change collision size. The game is really good and polished. Nice Work!

flogames 2021-10-07 21:35

Quirky little game with your trademark retro graphics and sound. Reminds me of my good old C64 :D I only managed to destory a few cities though, they kept growing too fast for me. Good job!

lex 2021-10-08 10:23

I destroyed everything so much faster on my NG+!

cloistered 2021-10-08 11:59

barney25052 2021-10-10 02:24

Really love the simple art style. Good fun.

irwatts 2021-10-12 04:38
