First game jam :)
cool :)
Brings back good memories of the games I played as a kid
Cute!
This game is really funny. The premise of a capybara and super baby in a forest is just funny to me.
cool
Thank you for checking the game out I hope everyone enjoys it !
Great Game, a solid 4.5 game, this game is just cute and graphics, the darn graphics, they aren't good but the grass was something that has Good Graphics! SOLID 4.5!
I had some problem with the controls. My player didn't progress in this game cause the first collision block my character. I like the colours and the art this game! Nice!
I want more baby-throwing games in my life
Very cute and whimsical. I had trouble getting past the first mushroom, but I love the concept. Great job!
Finally some use for babies!
Somebody help me. I'm stuck at the first area. The tree is blocking me. The game looks pretty neat
The take on the theme is interesting - keeping baby alive but you can throw it lol. It's weirdness all around - capybara, forest, shadow babies, giant mushrooms. If there is a weirdness criteria, you can top it lol. Thanks for sharing your game!
bruh am i seriously throwing a baby to win a game i don't know but it is fun!
I couldn't get past the first tree and I feel really dumb...give me a hint lol. I like the art and the music, it's a fun concept!
The platforming feels a bit funky, and the way the baby interacts with mushrooms is a little fragile, but the idea itself is really funny and I never knew I wanted to be a capybara with a human baby.
Love the graphics! they are so clear and the premise is hilarious. I didn't manage to progress beyond the first collision (probably just tired me from the jam) but it seems like it had good promise.
Nice concept and soundtrack!
I couldn't get past the first obstacle for some reason (I tried to throw the baby on the mushroom on the other side, but he wouldn't stay there!). The art is cute and the parallax effect on the background/foreground looks pretty cool!
Controls are a bit buggy. But the gameplay is fun and I liked the idea. Great Game!
Loooooove that you throw a baby. Can't get past the tree, also waiting for a hint!
@antaresvaldemar @grizzliusmaximus and everyone else who can't get past the first tree :) Drop the baby on the left button and then drop the box on either of the buttons so you can pick up the baby again!
Really fun game but the collision a bit weird you can keep on jumping on barriers and the grapple mechanic doesn't really feel good and the graphics are scaled weird but i think that was you where to do
Cute artstyle! I had a lot of issues gettign over the first tree, but I cheesed it with a wall climb and some inertia  I couldn't figure out the boss fight before I broke the whole game and non-prog'd myself, but I like all the ideas you had! There is a sizable spark of a good platformer in there! :)
Fairly fun and cute game! The music was pretty nice. A couple of glitches you may have missed: Hit boxes are dodgy sometimes so it's possible to clip into walls, and also when you release a mushroom it grows indefinitely, resulting in hilariously tall mushrooms! :)
Had some issues with the controls, couldn't get past the first obstacle. That said, I like the mechanics a lot, reminds me of yoshi's island, and the music is really nice
it's weirdly awesome, the fact that you can throw the baby like an angry bird makes me giggle everytime
Works with the theme, a tiny bit janky but it was a neat idea for sure! Throwing babies to beat shadow babies hah :)
Like others, I had trouble to get past the first tree. Aside from mechanics issues, the game has a really fun mood, beautiful graphics and nice audio. The premise is really fun, with that collaboration between the capybara and the baby probably being an all-time first ! Great work !
A cute game! The concept was certainly amusing, and the aesthetics were cohesive overall! I found the platforming a little difficult, and didn't end up getting too far in, but I enjoyed it! Looking forward to seeing future projects!
Art and music on this game are spectacular! Well done!
I also could't get past the tree. The capy and baby both move too slow. It would be cool to have a way to snap the baby back to the capy without having to wait. OTOH, I get that this is a "chill" experience so I can see why you didn't go that route.
This game is very entertaining. I found it challenging, and I love the music. It is extremely catchy.
Liked it very much. obly problems are with the controllers and the weird mushroom stretching on the y axe. There is a lot of Potential
Yoshi's Island, but with more baby throwing! Seems like if you kill one of the enemies you need to jump on you're soft locked. The music is a solid addition.
I really like how the thing you gotta keep alive is the thing attack with! Cool music, too. I got stuck at the part where there's a big gap -- is it possible to make it across? I liked the level design, it makes me feel like there must be a way across, but that I just haven't figured it out. Also, I noticed that it's possible to stick to a wall by moving into it, which makes it possible to scale walls with wall-jumping alone.
i enjoyed finding the way around the gates and obstacles. but physics are a bit rough
Nice game, polish the platforming a little and you have something really fun. Coudn't progress when I didn't stomp the shadow to cross (Checkpoints and reset should restore the game state and dead enemies). Also I had to check the comments to pass the first tree. But good job overall.
I don't understand what happen
Weird game but interesting, quite good for a first jam, keep it going !
Good game with a lot of features! It's fun to play and you want to progress in the level. I also felt like the difficulty was well balanced. ___
I noticed a few things you may want to know : - You can jump while in the air after using an orange shroom. - You can stay in the air and jump when you are colliding with the side of a platform. I'm guessing you are using collision to detect if you can jump. You could try to check if the ground is only below the capybara, since you are using unity you can do that with a raycast going down. - When you restart from a checkpoint enemies and other objects stay in the same state (death, location). At some point I got stuck after stomping on an evil flying shadow: I stomped, died a little bit further and then it wasn't there anymore so I couldn't use the shadow to cross anymore. Here is where I got stuck  flyingEnemy.pngThere should be a shadow in the red circle
Just updated the game so it should have less of these pesky bugs!
I could not get through the first tree at first but I figured out the red mushroom as a button. I think this game is quite interesting and graphics are great
 really have some fun in this game.. i don't think you should apply the rotation to the baby, watch him flipping like that always make me laugh.. nice work for the game

This game is beautiful! I love the parallax and graphics, and the little details you put in like the lights and such. A few parts feel a bit unfinished, but what game doesn't after a jam. Overall this looks and feels good and was FUN so 5/5.
I got stuck the same place @trucverte got stuck. Other than the bugs it was pretty cute, I liked the colorful visuals a lot and of course capybaras are awesome. Even better when you add baby hurling.
Cute and funny concept! Level design looks quite thorough, and music/sound are nice.
Gameplay still needs some polish on jumps and collisions, but there's a good starting point.
Congrats on your first jam, it looks quite promising!
Hey there! I played your game on-stream over the weekend. Thanks for sharing it with me!
It's a super cute game. A blushing pink baby and a heroic capybara; you could not have gone wrong starting with an idea like that. And you've created some simply adorable artwork for it as well! I would spend some time really making sure the animations read clearly; exaggeration can be your friend here. But the still images of these characters have a certain charm that I would do nothing to change
There were a few glitches here and there, but nothing major - all things I am sure you are aware of and able to clean up now with more time on our hands. The only thing worth mentioning is the boss fight; the boss chased me out of the room and it took me forever to realize that I needed him back in the room in order to use the platform to jump over him and hit is weak spot. I think it would really help to seal the room once the fight has been triggered - and maybe telegraph the weak spot a bit more (to me it just look like a spooky spot, not necessarily weak).
Anyway - thanks so much for sharing. I love the Yoshi games; my wife and I play Yoshi's Crafted World together all the time. It's a fine series from which to take inspiration and you've made an adorable interpretation of its key concepts. Well done!
Hey there - this game was cute and had a great art style!
As a platformer, though, it felt inconsistent and buggy. There was especially bizarre behavior when jumping up slanted walls or around trees, and I got stuck in the ground more than once. It's a relatively minor issue but it still dings the experience.
I was stuck at the first area for like 5 minutes and had no idea that the mushroom on the tree was a button - it just looked like a background item. There's so much cool stuff about the game that you don't ever tell the player! Or, if you do, it's hidden in the "tips" section of the description. I didn't realize I could double-jump with the baby, I didn't understand how/when to right-click to grapple, and I still don't know what the black inner hearts meant in relation to the outer hearts.
There were a few areas that I cheesed through by leaving the baby behind, getting to a checkpoint, then hitting R to get the baby back. It was really refreshing to see a boss at the end of the game, but no matter what I did to the boss nothing happened.
Overall this is still a well-paced game with awesome graphics.
Now what's going on here ? :joy: Cool game idea! I feel like people already talked a lot about it so I won't tell much more, but nice game, keep up! :)
