LD46 — Keep it alive

Cat Dad Redemption by Riftpoint Entertainment 2020-04-21T01:35:17Z

Oh my god this game is amazing. I literally laughed out loud multiple times in the first "area", and when I started getting comfortable with the (innovative) control scheme it felt awesome. Great job with the western mood, great job with the gameplay, great job with the story. I really hope you folks win the jam!

Tiny Fragments by Daniel Moreno 2020-04-21T03:51:23Z

Cute game, great graphics, great sound. Was it intended as a demake of magic moving mansion mania? I know that lots of games riff off each other and that's how new genres are formed but maybe credit them in the description? They were a small student team so I'm sure they could use all the help they could get :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jye0yxTfCkA

Extreme Gardening by lilwavep 2020-04-21T03:19:41Z

Good job making a game for the jam, I like the audio for it :)

Dream Hoppers by giu.zcc 2020-04-21T03:23:02Z

Wonderful game - really relaxing. Love the particle effects! :)

Pump It by Dizzy 2020-04-21T02:16:04Z

Ahhh so close to saving the patient :D - cool game! I liked the flow state I got in when the beats started going fast - I sort of blurred my eyes and tapped into the matrix to pump that heart. The controls felt fair too, which I'm sure took some hitbox massaging to make happen - but I always felt that when I lost a beat it was my own fault. cheers! :)

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T04:02:18Z

Excellent work, love the art, audio - feels really polished! I especially love the choice to combine clicker with branching narrative, it's something I've been meaning to try myself and it seems like really fruitful design space! As a small critique, it seems like the temple wasn't damaging the souls? At least I couldn't see the numbers go down every two seconds. Either way really excellent job.

Just in time! by Oleksandr Rogovskyi 2020-04-21T01:06:27Z

Great idea, great visual design, great sound effects audio! I had trouble figuring out the controls, it took me a while to figure out that things had momentum (I think?) because it reads as a turn based game from the clicks and the discrete locations of objects, so it took me a while to get that I could throw diagonally. I didn't understand why I couldn't move upwards as the T piece in the first level. The transitions in the second level were jarring and made me not quite understand what was going on. Definitely a really cool idea! I hope I don't come off as harsh or anything - I did enjoy playing it when I got what was going on - but I want to give you feedback to make your game legible to more people!

Just Jammin' by Darkeye 2020-04-21T03:31:45Z

Very topical lol. Fun game, makes a good point. This jam me and my friends were waaayyyyy more productive because we didn't spend all our time working! We learned from a hackathon where we stayed up all night and took turns doing "floor time" (lying face down on the floor for 10 minutes) to regain our energy. it was .... bad and also... not good. Good on you for raising awareness :D Also great art and sound, of course

Find my friends by xWilQ 2020-04-21T03:36:48Z

Great job with the mood - and the point lights! Had a tough time with the gameplay a bit

Wave Machine by Sciman101 2020-04-22T14:55:40Z

Really fun rhythm game! I really liked when I got in the flow and it was cool that you showcased how you can time it just from the feeling but zooming the camera around.

Faire L'Amour aux Plantes by Jenny Bourke 2020-04-21T02:04:12Z

Ahhh this is great, love the art, love the genre subversion. Warms my heart (and creeps me out a little) complicated emotions! I'd love to see this built out into a bigger game with a couple other mechanics, like maybe rubbing them with oil or shining sunshine on them - perhaps explore holding down the mouse and dragging over them? Either way, fantastic game! Thanks for making it :)

Light Knight by LaLoge 2020-04-21T01:15:21Z

This game is awesome! I adore the aesthetics of the music and art (and of course the light is wonderful). Excellent game feel - shooting the arrow felt really juicy and I could feel every attack hit the enemies. The difficulty ramp seemed a bit harsh to me, with the early waves feeling much too easy and the later ones being too difficult (for me). Of course you were under time pressure so I'm sure you could easily fix that with some more playtesting and tweaking a couple parameters. Also - a minor thing, but I kept being frustrated that my character would catch on the geometry of the crystal, it made me feel annoyed at the thing I'm supposed to be protecting - is it possible to turn that collider off? TL;DR - awesome game, thanks for making it :)

Remember, Apollo by AdamCYounis 2020-04-21T15:40:39Z

Beautiful game wonderfully executed, fantastic sound design and art!

Slime Mama by Jack Kaloger 2020-04-21T16:48:12Z

Cute game! Throwing things down to pick them up later felt fun and flowed naturally from the game.

DuckyShine by RoboPenguin 2020-04-21T04:08:11Z

Cool game! Really innovative use of the keyboard as a control, I love that. It's a little difficult to remember which keys are which for me which often led to a, um, chicken dinner, and by that I mean death. I also felt like the mouse control was a little wonky as it's hard to get the bird to move fast near the edge because I just don't have enough space to get the mouse far away. That said, really impressive stuff to get together in a weekend and it looks really polished, good job!

DOC+ORS by bixarrio 2020-04-21T02:10:05Z

Interesting game. I had a tough time engaging with it in a couple of ways. It definitely invoked a strong mood but I felt that the frantic gameplay had a tough time delivering on that mood. The animations were really good and the color scheme was great.

Please upload to itch - I wanna play!

embershrooms by togo sepultraut 2020-04-21T02:29:09Z

This game bugged out for me when I was trying to play it so I didn't get very far but I really love the art and the mood of the game! It looks beautiful - you should be proud! :)

Milk for A Dead Man (Web and Downloads Available) by Billnotic 2020-04-21T01:45:31Z

Really cool game! I love the gameplay of interacting with AI, I think that's really cool. I had a tough time getting enough into the heads of the AI to get very far - maybe if you iterate further you could add a visual reminder for the player of what they're thinking (like an arrow or some way to show where they're going to go). The music clashed a little with the rest of the tone of the game, but I do like it in a vacuum. Great job! :) (Oh also really great jokes, I appreciated them)

Oblivious Olivia by daichifob 2020-04-21T01:53:15Z

Great game!! I like so many things about it! It feels really good to play (small thing - it seems like there's a bit of a dead zone in the middle? I think it'd be nice if you could cause something to happen regardless of where you clicked) but that's a tiny tiny thing. The game is super juicy and bubbly. The disconnect between the epicness of the gameplay and the fact that olivia is, in fact, oblivious is quite funny. I felt that the mechanical twists on the endless runner were also really innovative! I liked that there were two options and they weren't just keys for different locks - some situations required one but many could take either. The art is clearly not the focus of the game but you made a strong sense of style out of it and it adds a lot - especially the death animations of the enemies. Great Great job :)

moss by niceden 2020-04-21T03:13:18Z

Really beautiful work. The top down foreshortening really gives a feeling that you're picking up and interacting with a toy or a snow globe. The sound design is delightful. One tiny thing in the gameplay is it's frustrating getting caught on level geometry but that only stuck out because the rest of the game is so seemless. Great job!

Paradigm by nspevacek 2020-04-21T01:59:07Z

Cool game, I liked the aesthetic - definitely looks nice. I wish there was a way I could speed it up, kind of like dropping a piece faster in tetris, because it can be a bit boring to wait for things to collide. That said, it is calming to watch asteroids do their spirally dance :)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

God's Arteries by Gunturtle 2021-04-26T03:16:26Z

Cool game! I liked a lot of the game-feel-y elements like the particles that come out when you hit the ground, it felt nice to play in that regard. I know it's a jam, and you probably meant it to be hard, but I think it may have come out a little bit toooo hard. I consider myself to be pretty well-versed in platformers and I had a really difficult time with it (I had to stop on the second bouncing snail jump). I feel like if the game was 25% more generous, or had a couple of levels ramping up the difficulty before the ones currently, it would sing.

Dig Deep by GiantWaffle 2021-04-26T03:00:59Z

Really neat game! I liked many aspects of it, I enjoyed the "number go up" upgrade-y part, I enjoyed jumping around the ship trying to get everything to work properly, and I enjoyed mining. If I had one critique, it would be that the game doesn't feel like it "knows" what it wants to be. For me at least, I really enjoyed the parts I mentioned separately but together they felt like they detracted from each other. For instance, because upgrading is such an important part of the game, it didn't really feel like I had much of an incentive to go deeper in a single run, when I could just make some money, upgrade, and start again. In terms of controls, I felt like the mouse clicking was a little awkward when you're also jumping around, I'd prefer if there was some action button that just operated the closest part of the ship, OR it's just mouse with no player jumping around. Anyways, hope that all doesn't come across as too harsh - I did enjoy the game! Just felt like there were some places where it could be *even* better :)
