Found this fun and really like the concept! I think if you wanted to develop this further it may be cool to make the beats line up with the audio, could even make songs with heartbeat sounds.

ezra-szanton 2020-04-21 02:16

Ahhh so close to saving the patient :D - cool game! I liked the flow state I got in when the beats started going fast - I sort of blurred my eyes and tapped into the matrix to pump that heart. The controls felt fair too, which I'm sure took some hitbox massaging to make happen - but I always felt that when I lost a beat it was my own fault. cheers! :)

quincy9000 2020-04-21 02:30

This is very fun! Woo godot!

pvp 2020-04-21 02:32

Fun idea :).

smallgaier 2020-04-21 02:36

This was a really fun take on a classic rhythm game! I like that it started out slow to get used to it before it really ramped up. Ps. great first time with Godot! This game jam was my first time with it as well, I hope you enjoyed your experience with it!

pips 2020-04-21 02:37

Really good concept! :D

flashviper 2020-04-21 02:39

The heart animation was really good. I liked the frantic nature. It almost felt like I was rushing someone to the ER!

nicksmaddog 2020-04-21 02:41

Fun game! Took a couple tries to make it to the end. It'd be cool to have some sort of reward for getting a "perfect" hit, where the hearts line up exactly, like some bonus health back or something. Great job!

baconinvader 2020-04-21 02:42

Man I wish I was good at these games haha, pretty fun but I think it would be better if the heartbeat synced with the music, and if it didn't freeze for a split second when I first mess up (maybe because it's loading the sound?)

no-grapes-games 2020-04-21 02:46

The logo is really cool. The title screen was neat. The game was very simple so it was hard for me to enjoy it. Maybe some different sounds based on what direction you pushed or how accurate you are would help. Good job.

bklolo 2020-04-21 02:47

Very fun!

cottontshirtz 2020-04-21 03:29

I was waiting for some game to use the pallbearer song! Love it!

injured 2020-04-21 03:32

I agree with one of the comments above suggesting to sync it with music - although I know, first hand, it is really hard to sync gameplay with a song's rhythm - however even a simple game can be simple fun - and that is exactly what this is. Ultimately, and I genuinely mean this, great work for a project done in three days.

aznz 2020-04-21 03:32

Remind me StepMania, which was pretty dope concept! The Flow of music and beat kept on getting fast which was competitive. hit box for the game was on point which I general satisfied with.

somethang123 2020-04-21 03:56

Really good music and there was a lot of extra things that made it look even better. It would be cool if you made multiple songs and have it be more of a rhythm game by having it sync with the music. Another cool thing would be to add a bonus if the heart is pressed in the middle(like a perfect bonus) and a combo system for that bonus

janachumi 2020-04-21 03:57

I think it's simple, intuitive and great to play. I liked it!

mcprog 2020-04-21 04:57

I like the edm remix. The options menu doesn't seem to work?

jackcaunter 2020-04-21 05:21

Love the music! Pretty hard game, my heart was definitely pumping by the end

dizzy 2020-04-21 06:00

Thanks to all feedback guys, its really important :D! I'm really happy right now, this is our 5th jam after one year without making a single game, it's really special, thanks to all again!

@mcprog wow, i think this is a bug, We 'll fix later, thanks!

frankie-hobbins 2020-04-21 06:12

Simple but enjoyable. The slow intro stopped me wanting to play repeated times. I agree with others that syncing with the music would be an improvement.

shugor 2020-04-21 06:27

The music for this game is pretty catchy. The logo and title screen looked nice as well. I also think it is an interesting concept to keep a heart pumping. However I couldn't really get into the gameplay, as it plays like a rhythm game but doesn't have any sync with the music.

randdir 2020-04-21 07:25

Nice entry music are goode choice. Even if i'm not good as those rythm game it was a good experience keep it up team !

tarfield 2020-04-21 10:24

It's pretty difficult towards the end. When the heartbeat starts dropping, that works really well.

gimblll 2020-04-21 11:11

The poor patient never had a chance. The problems just kept coming and coming, and I could not keep up. My fingers are just not steady enough for a job as a surgeon, so I have to rethink my career choises. I think I'll be a gardener. Altough this medical job has a very lovely little background tune, so that's something to consider too. Hard choices are in horizon.

thethirdming 2020-04-21 14:00

Very very funny, i would have used so more catchy visuals but, still, super funny to play with! great job!

vadzim 2020-04-21 14:21

fun game

tari 2020-04-21 14:24

nice little game that proves how slow my reactions are :D the music rushes you and the increasing speed stresses me out, i really wanted to finish the game but i might need to try again with more coffee ;) well done!

grossepelle 2020-04-21 18:46

simple but efficient af!! It has work on me and i enjoyed it a lot! TY

ismael-rodriguez 2020-04-21 19:30

Very nice, I can't imagine trying to Jam a game out with a new engine. Good job!

tsamf 2020-04-21 22:08

Love the feel of the game and it is fun to play. The music is cool and it has a nice a nice old school feel.

valisse21 2020-04-22 21:31

My reaction is too slow for this game :D Anw I managed it, it's simple but fun.

lukvasando 2020-04-24 22:54

If your team used the engine for the first time, I must say that's impressive. I liked the visuals of the game the most. The game becomes quite tricky at the end so I didn't manage to see the end screen. Anyways, congrats on the game!

marcusnystrand 2020-04-25 22:49

This song is way too catchy. Now I have it stuck on my mind :)

Very simple yet fun game, well done! A bit too easy I think, but then again I have played a couple of hundred hours of Stepmania

drevilbrain 2020-04-26 04:25

Wish this was a rhythm game. Would have fit the meta-narrative of keeping the heartbeat alive too.

convg 2020-04-27 16:28

Well developed game. No apparent bugs, and it's really good for your first time using the engine.

GRAPHICS: The heart animation looks awesome, and I really like the menu graphics as well.

GAMEPLAY: Fun and intense. I like the difficulty curve.

Conclusion: Cool game. As others have said, syncing with the music would be really nice, but overall this game is really fun. Good job guys!

dennerbougo 2020-04-28 12:52

very good, in the end it's very challenging

francisco-lucas 2020-05-02 05:28

Valeu!!

philstrahl 2020-05-11 02:09

It starts off way too easy ... until it becomes the complete opposite! I found this game a bit too unforgiving as when I made a mistake once and lose my rhythm, things would escalate too quickly and my patient would die. I think I subconsciously tried to match the rhythm of the music (very nice chiptune, btw!) and this didn't work out. Oh, also your volume levels are all over the place and casued me quite some discomfort: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iP012VKTPV8
