Great entry! I really liked this one! The gameplay was fun and satisfying and I ended up playing it for awhile
Great game!! I like so many things about it! It feels really good to play (small thing - it seems like there's a bit of a dead zone in the middle? I think it'd be nice if you could cause something to happen regardless of where you clicked) but that's a tiny tiny thing. The game is super juicy and bubbly. The disconnect between the epicness of the gameplay and the fact that olivia is, in fact, oblivious is quite funny. I felt that the mechanical twists on the endless runner were also really innovative! I liked that there were two options and they weren't just keys for different locks - some situations required one but many could take either. The art is clearly not the focus of the game but you made a strong sense of style out of it and it adds a lot - especially the death animations of the enemies. Great Great job :)
Very simple but still fun! The music was catch too.
love it ! Hard sometime but like to spam the wave ! Good Job !!
I like the idea of the game play, but I could just keep spamming left key to dodge from the monsters
Good game! could use more polish in places, and it was kinda hard to switch between lightning and waves. But overall I thought it was pretty interesting, and made great use of the theme! Also the music was great! My best was 87
@ezra-szanton I really appreciate you taking the time to write such an in-depth review of the game. You are right I should just fill up the central dead space. Thank you for all the positive words! They encourage me to keep at it!
@willops Thank you! I'm glad to hear that!
@enzobrown97 thanks! music is by Rolemusic. You can find more of their music here: https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Rolemusic
@arktas Thanks! I wanted to give a satisfying feel to the whole game so hopefully that was successful!
@robert-li Oh that's no good... I was contemplating whether I should add a cool down to the abilities but I thought it would be better to just keep it simple. I'll have to find a fix for that... Thanks for playing!
@dev-dwarf thanks for playing devdwarf, or loga n forma n :) 87! So you've experienced the super hard mode! (it gets triggered at 80)
A very simple, clever game design! The simple graphics serve this game also very well!
Good game! Well made and fun, the mechanics are well implemented and the art is quite cool. Nice!
I always find the "second-person perspective" games to be an interesting (and challenging) concept. I main ones I think of are Pac-Man 2 and Gumshoe. This is pretty well done. I like the simple mechanics, makes the game very easily approachable..
This was a lot of fun! The sea/sky interactions are a simple yet pretty refreshing tweak to Endless Runners.
Nice fun game ! I loved the graphic style and the music which tight well the ambiance of your game ! I made a score of 69, I noticed that you can spam the waves, so we can kinda "cheat", I think with a little cooldown, it will solve the issue.
Really nice little game, a simple mechanic utilised very effectively. The game felt very satisfying and the sound effects/accompanying music fit very well with the style. Graphics were also really nice. Solid entry here, well done.
@jimanzium Thanks for playing! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
@edalbung hey there twitter neighbour! You are right, that is not good...! I'm thinking of adding flying monsters up high so you can't abuse the waves. Thanks for the feedback!
@butzbo thanks for playing and leaving a feedback!
@shaolin-dave hey thanks for introducing me to those games, I didn't know about them at all but they sure have a unique gameplay. Cheers!
@emperor-eagle thanks for the kind words and playing my game!
@shuzenandy thank you for playing!
This is a cute lovely game! The art is very nice and reminded me of "Out of this world". This kind of low-res art is an inspiration to us who can't make art (or maybe a frustration, since I can't make low-res art look good either!).
@laaph thanks for playing laaph! I just googled "Out of this world" and looks like a game worth checking out. I agree, making low-res art look good is hard... It takes a lot more effort than it seems for sure
That was fun! Love the idea of O(b)livia needing to be protected because she's staring at her phone. Good progress in difficulty, it only felt a little 'wrong' that you're able to cast waves and lighting in unlimited succession.
@farbeyond-studio thank you for playing! Yes that is something I need to maybe fix with a short cooldown of sort. Cheers!
Thas was really good. On my first playthrough I somehow missed that there was a possibility to produce a lightning strike. But once I figured that out, the game made a lot of sense. I even managed to get the score of 100. Really good entry! Annotation 2020-04-27 005558.png
@stefan-jovanovic Thanks for playing and the feedback! The game enters super difficult mode after 80 points so 100 is impressive!
Extremely fun. Simple mechanics work the best. How did you generate the platforms and enemies? Was it randomised from an array/collection or procedurally generated. Just curious.
Really cute little game! I got 122. I loved the pixel-y monsters. The music and sound effects were spot on, and really added to the game. I think the gameplay is a really good concept - however, I found out pretty early on that spamming the waves and lightning made the game fairly easy and the best strategy was just to spam click everywhere as quickly as possible. It was a fun experience, but I wonder whether a cooldown or similar could help the game be a bit more difficult and enjoyable. Great entry!
@mza thank you for playing! You know what, I thought randomly generating from an array was how procedural worked. I didn't know they were two different things. XD To answer your question, yes they were randomly generated from an array. I had three arrays varying in difficulty so the longer you play the harder the levels get.
@natpat thank you so much for playing! I think you got the highest score out of everyone here! You are right and that's been pointed out by multiple people now so it's something I need to fix! Just wondering if there is a way to do it without adding a cooldown...
Damn I came from your video and now im addicted lol. Great game!
Simple but well made game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/NFvpzo131Hc
@jupiter-hadley thanks for featuring my game in your vid! I've got to add a cool down!!!
