The background was a little too cluttered.. but the concept was cool!

Really liked the artwork and ethereal style

dominic-graziano 2021-04-27 03:23

this was really engaging to play, and wholly unique! thanks for making it :)

cole-hutson 2021-04-27 03:24

Interesting game! I definitely had fun running into all the things.

jose-bonilla 2021-04-27 03:24

Good game! The graphics and mood were really beautiful, the audio was good as well. I didn't find a way to "win", maybe I didn't play enough, but I had so many moods already. Obviously in game instructions/tutorial would be great, but for a jam game it's fine. Congrats!

cheese-team 2021-04-27 03:24

I'm a big fan of the art style.

squirmonkey 2021-04-27 03:26

Wow cool stuff.

I didn't read your instructions, so at first I was pretty lost about where I could move and where I couldn't. But I eventually got the hang of shooting things and the colors and such. So then I wandered for a long time. I was just about to be like "wtf where am I going" when I Remembered the theme, and went down.

Nicely done, the moving through colors system is very cool.

evil-as-shit 2021-04-27 03:27

Great game! All of the components came together very nicely! The movement makes the game feel like I'm floating through jelly haha. Loved the music and visuals as well.

draconimous 2021-04-27 03:27

wow this was a pretty cool idea! great job :D

megan-kozun 2021-04-27 03:28

loved this, super great take on theme! took me a minute to understand some of the controls and why i couldnt go thru certain colors, but thinking about it now i realize it probably says that somewhere and i just didnt read. it looks very pretty as well! :)

It took a second to figure out how to navigate, but once I picked blue and stuck with it, I was able to get around easily. The mood is very strong, a little creepy and surreal. Although there wasn't a lot of audio, what was there was perfect, making most of the mood come through and combining with the wispy art style well. It was a short experience, but a atmospheric and relaxing one. I'd play the full version when it comes out on Steam.

cool game! runs a little slow in my browser, but neat concept!

antaresvaldemar 2021-04-27 03:33

Really cool concept. It took me a couple of minutes to figure out the mechanic for making a path, once I did it was quite fun and challenging. The visuals and audio create a lot of atmosphere. It's an interesting depiction of the realm of thoughts. Great work! [EDIT] I couldn't see your instructions before playing because my internet didn't load the images lol.

legavroche 2021-04-27 03:33

Really interesting concept involving the human psyche. I liked how each colors represented a type of emotion and it sorta gave me "Inside Out" vibes. I found myself getting stuck at certain times though due to the creation of moods around me. Not sure if that was intentional but I think having a way to break out from that situations would be nice.

adamphoebe 2021-04-27 03:36

the art style is cool, and the concept is sick, but i think it needs a bit more development so it doesn't strike too much as boring, there was very little player action, and i think with some more mechanics you could take this game to the other level!

bernardex 2021-04-27 03:36

Hey, it seems you all put a lot of work in this entry! Good job! I enjoyed the concept of wandering with my current color only with the matching color of the scene, and when getting a new color, I would go to different places in the same area of the map. The tutorial in the description was realy helpful, and I encourage anyone who tries the game to read it beforehand. (:

owen-kidd 2021-04-27 03:58

Great job!

nvrskipgameday 2021-04-27 19:01

First off, it's really impressive that you have so many types of controls in here - what a nice touch. Second, I love that your screenshots include the tutorial so I could sort of read ahead of time. Third, this is a reeeeeeealllly cool game. I somehow missed reading the last slide of instructions, but when I figured that part out I felt like a genius haha. Definitely one of the more unique games I've played, thanks for uploading it.

embedder72 2021-04-28 00:10

Very neat concept. I enjoyed playing for a little but then it got pretty repetitive. Unfortunately somehow I went off the top of the screen and couldn't shoot or get back.

bubbadubc 2021-04-28 00:31

I'm not sure what to do from just the game itself (I know I can read the instruction images but I like learning from the game) I was initially brought in by the look and sound of the atmosphere but I quickly lost interest because I didn't know what to do!

trexxak 2021-04-29 21:46

Mh, what an amazing experience this was. While I did wander aimlessly at first, I think that's still very fitting concerning the setting of the game. Absolutely adored the art style and the ominous soundtrack. It definitely has your guys signature with the more Zen-like gameplay and one of the protagonists being a sphere of one kind or the other :D

Incredible work again! Incredible how some coloured blobs and flavour texts can have such an impact...

In this video I played your game and five other games. Soon I will make a detailed analysis via comment. :)

**Analysis...**

I played the game again and finally managed to understand what was going on with my controller that was not working properly.

1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow: The mechanics consists of opening the way to overcome through a cloud of feelings (as I understand it). You need to pass some feelings (recall memories) to be vibrating in the right color to overtake certain parts of the map. It got me stuck in some spots. In addition, you can join symbols that are used as projectiles to "annihilate memories" generating a "cloud of feelings", this allows you to shape the way forward. Learning to play, then, is not that intuitive, but the experience is quite interesting and meaningful, since it makes an interesting metaphor with overcoming traumas. The game flow starts quite anxiously and remains so until the person understands exactly how to play (I think it is just a matter of transposing the explanation that is on the game page on the Ludum Dare website into the game in an interesting and well structured); when the player masters the gameplay, then the game flows much better (with a few moments getting stuck and depending on some "memories ghosts" passing by). About the controls: it seems to me that the arrows and the ASDW have a small inversion of movement (right left versus left right). I don't know if that was on purpose.

2 - Graphics, Audio and Narrative: The graphics are a mixture of simplicity (shadow of the ghosts) and exuberance (the forms that end up appearing when a "ghost" is annihilated and everything, which gives a feeling of traversing the inner cosmos of a mind). The audio has some effects and an atmospheric sound, which helps a lot to make immersion possible (I think it is more than enough for the event time). The narrative is very symbolic, although the text is also very clear, which makes it interesting.

3 - Culture: The game talks about "mind" (as I understand it) and the search to overcome the traumas themselves (and what everything indicates with the support of a professional). In addition, it is a game with interesting navigation mechanics, which can be better polished (especially when you get stuck; perhaps a small pulse of dark energy will allow you to destroy the surroundings, but it needs to be loaded; who knows with some price).

4 - Monetization: I suppose given the experimental nature, the game is more interesting as a portfolio, learning and advertising the team's capabilities; however, a version with the appropriate polishments could be sold at the level of experience. My main suggestion, in this case, would be to reuse the experiment to create games with other themes (something viral could come from this type of movement mechanics, in my view).

Very interesting and moody!

devmerlin 2021-05-17 03:26

Interesting piece, I found I had to lure the correct colored memories over to expand the areas I could move to next. There were a few times where I was partially trapped, and had to wait more then thirty seconds for something to come close enough - either a black memory to clear the way, or something of my color.

I also found that you can "dive" down between tight spaces - the acceleration flings you forward.
