LD45 — Start with nothing

Ball of Duty: Special Drops by LandoSystems 2019-10-08T03:42:59Z

Yo people! I've had a really great time with this game. The best audio is the cheapest - "...Click!". Laughed and had surprises in many parts during the gameplay. It was a little difficult to replace all the objects after I cleared the scene having maxed out the upgrades (I was tryina make more money XD). Great, great work! Cheers to Brian's mouth sounds!

The Freelancer by TMAT Productions 2019-10-08T03:11:24Z

Heyo! This kind of game really gets me into it! I enjoyed it very much and had lots of fun! I also did really like the effort put into the level design. The enemies distribution and their presentation during the level contributed to my Neo's Matrix alike experience. Nice work people!

Damned Souls - Raising Blood by homeworld 2019-10-08T12:54:38Z

Heyo! Great work there guys! I did have lots of fun, its a challenging one. The feels that the chosen aesthetic gave me were very pleasant, and the ambience with the music did wrap it up nicely. I didn't understood the mechanics for the blood to damage the player, was it intentional for the player to get out of the pool quickly as possible to keep the game flowing? Nice job!

Not My Hoarder by Tommyflower 2019-10-17T16:54:39Z

Nice job guys! I really enjoyed the aesthetic and feeling of the game. Congrats for the dev team!

Free Will by Baski 2019-10-08T13:28:41Z

Heyo! Nice job here dude! The game is responsive, i even adventured in some tricky ways tryin to move n click n place the blocks at the same time just for the sake of doing it. Great concept as well! I got stuck in the two laser level, as I was far from the spawn and fell. When I respawned, there were no blocks to move in sight. If there was some sort of level restart when the blocks are too far away from respawn, it would be nice! Loved the aesthetic and sounds! :)

Free Will by Baski 2019-10-08T13:56:41Z

@baski Whoa! I really didn't see it! A sneaky button, indeed! I'll play it even more then! 8)

The Carpenter by Valentin4311 2019-10-08T16:04:15Z

Heyoo! Great job, congratulations for the team!! The aesthetics, sound design and the runner are very well designed! I accessed some old memories, when I did play the runner level in Crash Bandicoot for Playstation 1. I really enjoyed to play this game, it's in my list of top 3 in this game jam. Your game did fill my brain with a marvelous substance called dopamine! Amazing! And... Oh! Is there anything I can do with the collectable items?

Here is my best score! I bet there isn't anyone who can beat it 8)

The Beginning by GlintGames 2019-10-08T12:28:35Z

Heyo! Nice entry! I found the game really fun, had my time trying to solve the puzzles. The controls are nice too. I got stuck in the red particle level, didn't know what to do. The first level with the spawning orange balls gets impossible when all of them falls to the lower deck, had me to restart the game twice in order to get to the next level. It would be nice if there was just a hint or symbol in the scene showing which button should I press in the first time to use them :) Nice work!

Welcome Home by KP_CFTSZ 2019-10-08T15:58:13Z

Heyoo!! I loved this game, guys! I really felt like a kid, planning my house from scratch. Really nice concept for the theme! Nice job with the pencil and the narrative as well.

Here's my house xD!

King of the Goo by BenPeterson 2019-10-08T02:39:51Z

Hey guys! Once I understood the core mechanics, i had fun while it lasted. Also, I had a bit of a struggle to understand the core concept of the consume/DNA extraction. I dig @psychic-ash comment, if the DNA UI was bigger, that would have gotten my attention more easily. Moreover, i got lost in the water eventually without finding any enemies. Finally, it appears well executed, there are cool upgrades and correspondent feedbacks for them!

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-08T14:11:38Z

@landosystems Thanks for your feedback! We're glad you liked it! We will eventually add some sound FX and visual feedback to work the game feeling!

@demuss Thanks for the comment! Kurzgesagt really have some astonishing visuals for telling stories, we were indeed inspired by them for the aesthetics. Regarding the viruses shot, it's a really cool idea, thanks for sharing it! We might add it in the future polishment. Also, we'll look into the hitboxes. Thanks for the feedback!

@monish-vyas Thanks for your comment. We tried to make the game as hard as possible :p We will look what could make the shot to feel more responsive, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-10T13:50:11Z

Thanks a lot guys, your comments are really helping us to identify important aspects of this game!

We'll also deliver to you a little gift from the dev team very soon :)

@paulius Hey man, thanks for your comment! We are really looking into it, as our design decision was not to kill the enemies with the bullets, but rather with the explosions, just like the original arcade genre. Our plan is to solve this issue in the next version released with visual and sfx feedback to compensate the expectation of bullet hits, as most of them aren't working as intended :)

@bananabobbert Thanks for your sharing your thoughts! Indeed, we understand your frustration! We've found a bug going on with the explosion collision radius, and our plan is to deliver a fix in the updated version of the game very soon!

@benpeterson Hey Ben! Yeah, that was our decision to keep that! Due to time limitation, the game release lacked the proper working of some visual/sfx feedback to indicate that, which the predecessor arcade versions did successfully. New version coming out soon, with some of this features working properly to solve the issue!

@rocktavious Heyo! Thanks for your impressions of the game! We understand your comment regarding the difficulty! We believe that the updated version of the game, which is coming out soon, is going to help a lot to address this issue. Also, we found a little bug in the hit collider registration (just a tiny cockroach!) which caused the indicated problem. We hope you can beat level 1 in the upcoming version! (:

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-15T13:09:53Z

Hey guys! @demuss @paulius @chaotikza @rocktavious @benpeterson @monish-vyas @landosystems @bananabobbert

Thanks a lot for your feedback! We have uploaded a new version of the game, considering everyone's evaluation from the last one. Hope you enjoy it if you give it a try (:

@chaotikza Thanks for your thoughts! In the new uploaded version we took your consideration and, for now, have updated the shot's speed to balance the reaction time required! We think this should solve the issue (: We'll look into your other thoughts in future patches!

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-15T14:27:47Z

Heyoo @superunknown thanks for your sharing! As is seems, we have a new score record!! We're glad you enjoyed it (:

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-15T21:14:38Z

Heyoo! Nice!

@sillyman987 There are a few actions you can do to increase your Smart Balance! Comment in other games from the jam, rate them, provide feedback, interact with other people! If you rate a lot of other jam games, smart balance increases a lot for a short period! When the team does it together, it can rise up very quickly. We're glad u enjoyed the game too (:

@invader Thanks a lot! We're glad you liked it!

@fizzpowmike1 @aridesei Heyoo! Thanks a lot! I recorded the SFX in my room, and the programmer did it shine! Also, thanks for your thoughts on the graphics (:

@sheepdog123 Thanks yo! We're really glad u liked our game's aesthetics! We agree that the game is hard, but it was intentional! XD

@benpeterson Whoa! It seems we have a new score record! But... pics or didn't happen xD Anyway thanks a lot man! Your feedback helped us a lot in this update!

@kazatan Thanks for your thoughts regarding the game! We're glad you enjoyed it. Currently, what everyone is able to play right now in our page is the updated version of the game! We respect your opinion regarding this matter, and in order to clarify this & prevent any misunderstanding, we are keeping the patch notes in both URLs!

Virus Jones by Bernardex 2019-10-17T12:30:29Z

Heyooo!!

@lokhmaty hahahha nice! I wonder how difficult that might be... this is a feature very interesting to think in a "point n click" driven game. It didn't come to my mind earlier, thanks for the feedback (:

@brandon-anderson Thanks man! We've had a lot of fun during the their implementation! Also nice to hear about the chain reaction, it looks like our collision hit boxes are now working as intended.

@nocity Heyu, thanks bro! We understand your point here. When we were conceptualizing the game, we wanted it to be as tough as possible, because we wanted an "arcade" approach. Also, nice about the chain reactions, which we see as a positive feedback on the fixed explosions and collisions.

@aderix Heyooo! Thanks for your thoughts! We will take a note on this, we liked very much your idea about upgrades or such. Initially we discarded this due to the jam short time. We are now listing development ideas for this game, and this one will be added too!

Ex Nihilo by Alexascher 2019-10-16T02:05:24Z

Fantastic. I didn't understand a single dime what i was doing, but it was a wonderful experience of discovery in the universe you crafted. Thank you very much. Higher stars Sound FX volume would be awesome!

Cultivation by emmyoop 2019-10-08T17:47:10Z

Heyoo! Nice game! The concept really fitted into the theme! As others said, it was a pleasant experience overall. I disagree with @tacokhun in the topic of the controls. The fact that the player has to use both sides of the keyboard makes the experience even more symbolic, given the situation that you have to play with opposite sides of the hand / arms, which represents what is seen and unseen of a tree. It was a fun and different experience. Thanks to the team!

Split or Steal by Monish Vyas 2019-10-08T15:36:55Z

Heyo! The narrative in this game is sooo funny! I LOL'd when the game rule was set to explain the game's universe. Indeed, these kind of narrative also has its set back, one of which is the time necessary to define all the probabilities with each character and etc. Ambitious project for a 72h game jam! Great work, music, ambience and graphics!

Scrap Spaceship by Nisovin 2019-10-17T17:00:44Z

Heyoo! Great game out there guys! You nailed the theme. One of the best entries I've seen, I had much fun playing it and building my star ship!

Egg Farm by kuviman 2019-10-17T17:05:23Z

Nice entry bro! I didn't figure out the instructions clearly, and even then it was a pleasant experience of discovery.

He knew it was good by Demuss 2019-10-08T13:10:55Z

Heyo!! Nice concept! I loved the conversation between Father and son. Gameplay was very nice too, great execution of the theme. Particles almost crashed the game a few times after the second rune was taken/when the scenario refreshed. Ambience was great, I really felt i was starting from nothing. Great job! :)

In the beginning by nsadie 2019-10-18T13:14:47Z

Very nice game! I enjoyed the graphics and mood, just had some problems with the stairs movement. Besides that, I did really like the feeling of the game!

Space Janitor by Emty 2019-10-08T13:42:27Z

Heyo! I agree with my fellas here! For a first, its a really nice job! I did have fun playing it! If the game had just QWE controls, it would be very intresting to control as well! Great work, and nice graphics. Finally, it would be nice and rewarding if collecting spaceship parts that I had already collected could give me like... more energy or so. P.s: it's a NASA space janitor, isn't it? The only satellites that gave me points were the ones from the former USSR xD

Shadow Walker by SheepDog123 2019-10-15T21:41:01Z

Heyoo! Nice game yooo! Really enjoyed the animation, the mood and art. Also it was nice what u did to the runner genre we are used to! This game made me remember a very old runner i enjoyed a lot when I was young. Great job!

Fall of RS-17 Icarus - an Akaban Tale by Kooshy 2019-10-08T02:55:00Z

Hey yo! I agree with my comment neighbour @jason-porritt, nice ambience n' mood! I'm not a great fan of this genre, but went for it. Well... I almost had to change my underwear eventually. Good work, and great audio set up! But I didn't make it through the second door :(

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Guard Duty by frozenfire92 2021-04-27T03:07:36Z

Hey! I loved the ambience you did with the music and the graphic style. Really wrapped the game. I felt it was a little bit too punishing to make the effort to get a coin, and then die without it having any practical effect on the game (like a + life or so). Also didn`t manage to get past lvl 4 :p

Me:Tree! - New Roots by Groggi 2021-05-02T23:25:04Z

Whoa!! What an amazing experience. Played for almost an hour and didn't even notice it. One of the best entries for me in this jam so far. Just played the latest version. Particularly, I didn't notice the "tutorial" steps at the beginning because I was too focused in the underground. Just noticed it after losing a few tries ^^

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-04-27T13:40:48Z

@madmystic Thx man! <3

@cheekibreeki Glad you enjoyed! We've had our share of laughs too over the "NO!" game over. Thx for the comment, we're still tweaking the player's character movement (:

@occasoftware Thx for your comment! Indeed currently sitting in the middle may sometimes get you safely to the end. Our RNG for the obstacle generation seems to enjoy spawning items elsewhere but in the middle :p We're working on that for an upcoming build! We're glad for your feedback!

@Hideos We're glad you liked it! <3

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-04-28T01:19:10Z

@varalta Thx from everyone from the team! We are really glad from ur feedbacks (:

@locustjin Yeah! Thanks very much for the cumpliments!

@rubentipparach Glad you enjoyed it! We used MagicaVoxel for the production pipeline and it seems it worked well for the final look of the assets and game in general! We intend to keep using it :)

@radiotrophia Thx for playing mate!! It was really fun to make it too!

@Rawb Heyo! Glad you liked it man, it was one of the first things we had working with audio in the game, and soon as I saw it with SFX, we got the tone of what we were doing! Glad u liked it!

@lill4s Thanks a lot! We appreciate ur feedback!

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-05-01T23:20:15Z

Hey everyone! We carefully considered every feedback given to this point! We have updated the game to Version 1.1, if anyone is intrested! The patch list is in the end of the game description in both pages (LDJam and Itch.io) (:

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-05-01T23:44:38Z

@vitluke Thanks you very much for the feedback, vitluke!! We have a new update (version 1.1) in our page, that we put some of ur considerations into action! They worked very well!

@szymon-ogd Thanks, Szymon! We really appreciate the feedback!

@meenakshi Heyo, meenakshi! Thanks for the feedback! We are still tweaking the game to make it funnier! We’re glad you enjoyed!

@mrscythe Thanks, man! Our audio dev appreciated a lot ur feedback!

@koalatte Oh yeahh! The character may still be wandering through the space as I write this (:

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-05-01T23:45:07Z

@dergamer Glad you enjoyed it, DerGamer! Thanks for the feedback on that feature (unforeseen bug), we have a new update online (version 1.1) that has this issue solved, also with tweaked difficulty (:

@kel Thanks a lot, kel!! The team sends you a hug in return!!

@kszaku Thanks for the feedback duuuude!

@thefoppian OOohh yeah! We’re glad for your feedback, thefoppian! Actually, the astronaut has a built in AI in his back side which switches the O2 tanks and recycles the old one. We just cant see it because the player character is facing the player, but the programmer convinced me it’s there xD

@frokes Hey frokes, thanks for the feedback! In our next update of the game, we may try some different controls for the jetpack to tweak the players movement a little bit!

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-05-01T23:45:36Z

@qyoneda Thanks a lot for the feedback, qyoneda! We had to be careful in order to not going in it too much, we hope we got it right ^^

@gmor Thanks a lot gmor :D

@preda The team were glad to hear this, we had a lot of firsts in this jam! We’re happy it worked out in the end (:

Deep Breath by Eduardo Scheffler 2021-05-01T23:45:56Z

@frozenfire92 Thanks for the feedback, frozen! We just released update 1 (version 1.1), in which we went for your suggestion and tweaked the gameplay and obstacle quantity! It should be far more challenging than before. In future updates, we intend to work in object sizes as well (:

@kiptok Thanks for the feedback, kiptok! The team, and speacially our tech artist, felt the love u sent through! We’ve just tweaked the game difficulty in the new update (version 1.1), in which we added a difficulty curve in the game. Hope u enjoy it!

@gregfagan Thanks a lot for the feedback, greg! We took your suggestion carefully, and just released a new game version that addresses some of the aspects you pointed in your comment! We have in version 1.1 difficulty curve for the objects, particles for the thrusters, and some other features that are now working properly! Future updates will bring some other things to the table! Check out if you can (:

The Deep by TheMoonrise 2021-04-27T20:35:21Z

I felt like a kid again, discovering what each lever, sound and movement did, and (thinking that I was) understanding everything. I ended up fantasizing the plot in my experience and playing around with the submarine, dodging stuff. I didn't get to the end, but ended my session with a smile. Thank you very much for putting all of this together in this amazing experience.

Tunnel Vision by Cievers 2021-04-27T19:40:59Z

Heyoo!! I really enjoyed it, much fun, and totally into the theme. Nice entry! It is already a very challenging task to make a game based on physics to work, especially gravity, but oh boy, with a mine cart working together with a floor and a ceiling in 2D? Good job! I missed a brake command to try to slow down the minecart, particularly when I saw the warning signs I hadn't enough time to react. Loved the art style!

20.000 LIGHT YEARS deep in THE SKY by Arivenzys 2021-04-27T20:54:05Z

Just amazing!!!! I felt like I was hearing a story book back when I was a kid, and I loved every aspect of it - speacially the donut planet - just like my imagination when I was younger. This was the better polished game for me in this jam so far. Great work everyone!

Callisto by Rawb 2021-04-27T02:49:19Z

Hey! I loved the choice for the music and ambience! Really nice to explore your world with that theme, and the dialogues helped a lot in it! Also, I agree with some of the other folks on the controls being a little bit hard to manage. Nice entry!

Deep Breathing by MadMystic 2021-04-27T14:22:34Z

Hey! Sooo nice entry! I was amazed by the sudden change of scenery, good laughs while playing it and achieving deeper consciousness states. It felt good to finally achieve nirvana after years of trying it (:

Inner Pieces by Eckkert 2021-04-27T03:36:28Z

Hey, it seems you all put a lot of work in this entry! Good job! I enjoyed the concept of wandering with my current color only with the matching color of the scene, and when getting a new color, I would go to different places in the same area of the map. The tutorial in the description was realy helpful, and I encourage anyone who tries the game to read it beforehand. (:

Alien Abyss by Tom Stephenson 2021-04-27T19:59:35Z

Heyoo! This was fun to play! Congrats on your entry!! The art style is really tight and well implemented, along with the 8 bit music made me feel like playing an old (yet new) Gameboy Color game. I struggled a little bit with the aiming and moving with the same input (mouse movement)... I think that the addition of a "precise aim" hotkey would benefit the gameplay (like "space bar", so you can only aim while not moving). But also not having it made the experience feels unique. Loved the art style on itch.io page, very original! Good job everyone!

Depth Perception by Rina 2021-04-27T03:25:08Z

Heyo! Most of all, I loved the song of the museum hall! In pandemic home office vibes, it was a nice touch to my daily experience to see some art paintings along with some music! I didn't understand tho how I should interact with the objects and such, it felt like in scene 1 I could move objects around and rotate them, and in scene 2 I suddenly couldn't anymore. I would've liked to do that with some historical paintings (: See ya!

OVERDRILLED by everedx 2021-04-27T15:00:07Z

Well, even tho it has been said, this is a really wonderfull entry. Loved every aspect of it, but no one was honest on this CHALLENGE - So I'll start - I bet you can't beat me:

Tela de jogo.PNG

P.S: This game is so much fun! Great work everyone!

Into The Depth by Szymon OGD 2021-04-27T20:17:09Z

Heyoo! Nice entry! This game is looooong, I got deeper and deeper, like 7000m but the "depth" interface was just in 5 units, so you definitively nailed the theme of the jam :D Had a lot of fun with the mechanic of dodging the obstacles, specially with the spice of them come after me if I got too close. Good job! Oh, and the sound design deserve a special hug for bringing the mood to the game.

SPERMA by the neon shark 2021-04-27T18:47:17Z

Nice entry (literally)! It seems like a challenge to bring everything you thought together. It all worked well in the end, especially for a Compo. I also enjoyed the simplicity and effectivity of the art style. (:
