It looked interesting, but I did not understand the controls. It wasn't exactly clear how I was supposed to do anything. If you add instructions let me know and I can reevaluate!

The game seemed to get stuck after eating the tutorial dude? Tab didn't unpause, and clicking didn't do anything?
I really like the DNA extraction concept!! That was really interesting and a different way to fight enemies! I think the UI could be a little bigger for the DNA grabbing. I love organism games and this was great! Only other suggestion would be the color contrast between the background and the protagonist goop, might need to be brighter!
I also got stuck on tab. I will say from what little I did see, looks kind of interesting.
Super fun, couldn't upgrade anything past level 1 but still played for 20 minutes
Super awesome game! Art style and aesthetic was gross in the best kind of way! Enjoyed being a goop monster and toyed around with the various DNA combos. Add more combos, and variations and you've have got my attention for HOURS! Maybe even allowing a system where your goop can grow bigger and chase OTHER prey! I would LOVE to see more of this game, and expect to see it on my Nintendo Switch in a year! PLEASE!
I got stuck figuring out the controllers but im glad i stuck with it cause i really enjoyed the idea and approach. Great job.
Very cool game. I like all of the variety in the creepy-crawlies. I like that even as I grew more powerful there were foes that still posed a challenge. Great work!
Hey guys! Once I understood the core mechanics, i had fun while it lasted. Also, I had a bit of a struggle to understand the core concept of the consume/DNA extraction. I dig @psychic-ash comment, if the DNA UI was bigger, that would have gotten my attention more easily. Moreover, i got lost in the water eventually without finding any enemies. Finally, it appears well executed, there are cool upgrades and correspondent feedbacks for them!
I like the idea of extracting DNA and using it for yourself. It isn't super clear to me how the text on the left correlates to the DNA, and what the falling DNA is. I would say for the audio that it has a lot of echo in it, which takes me out of the game a bit because everything else feels like it would be 'deep'. I would also say increasing the contrast between the entities and the background.
Really liked this game would be cool if as you killed enemies it would unlock DNA sequences on the side panel to make things a little easier, as I played the game for a while and couldn't find anymore so I assume I got them all, but it would be nice to know.
Insanely fun to play. A lexicon of discovered DNA combinations would be very helpful. Game design and graphics are stellar. Audio could be improved upon
Thanks for all the feedback guys! Taking it all directly into account
Very reminiscient of my favorite part of spore! While I agree with some others here that the UI could use some work, I think this is an excellent entry overall. Decent AI, interesting and fun game mechanics, great art and good feedback all are impressive for a two person entry. Well done!
Thank you’ll for playing! It’s incredibly rewarding to hear the feedback, especially since this was my first Dare.
The graphics look very realistic! I'm not sure if it's 2D, 3D or something in between.
It's like spore, in a good way, I liked the idea of manually mixing genes. The controls work well for this though a screen listing the key mapping would help.
I'm not sure how many mutations there are, I found quite a few. the game is cool and fun to play, it also fits the them pretty well, good work!
This game is just awesome! i love how you can change yourself taking other's cells, maybe a bit clunky in some situations where i must escape quick, but overall, this is a great game! Congrats
Had some trouble figuring out the DNA mechanics, but the base of the game is quite fun! Here's a "playthrough" video from the stream!

Good game. Reminded me a lot of the cell stage of Spore, but I actually liked the DNA mechanic better than just getting new parts wholesale - it was interesting to mix and match and try to figure out how to make good parts.
I... I create a monster ! All on speed and attack... Would have been great if we got something somewhere to know how to create the paterns (the level > 1). Got some by pure luck. Attention for all who got stucked on the first ennemy killed : Drag the DNA on topscreen to your DNA downscreen
Great game! I would love to see the gene pool of the killed monsters separated by categories, so I could sneak peek some cool combinations. I wanted this huge jaws so much!
Cool concept enjoyable!
i wasnt able to unpause the game after i ate the first enemy :(
@asimov you need to drag the dna from the into one of your own dna slots and then press 'Tab' we're working to make that more clear! thanks for letting us know
Awesome art!
I wish I can see all unlocked 'schemes' somewhere on the UI. And I think you could show an accurate DNA scheme of the enemy so I could recreate it if I want. In case if you don't want to show every scheme and make it that easy -- just break some of the DNA parts.
So let's say I killed the enemy and it has the following weapon scheme:
`[GYYO-]`
you could 'break' 1-2 parts before showing it to the player as:
`[G-Y--]` or `[--YO-]`
By breaking some parts you obfuscate the recipe and do not expose it right away. This means I need to kill 1-3 more enemies with this weapon to get the rest of the colors in the scheme and recreate it. Also, in this case you could make all the schemes random at the start of each game. Roguelike!
This is just an idea! Brute-forcing all possible combinations just feels less enjoyable to me. And this is my attempt:

@icxon Hey we actually have the dna breaking into relevant pieces just like you're talking about we're planning on pushing that tonight. I'm stoked you understood the core idea we were going for so well; We've talked about different ways of trying to give the players the part codes that would be most fun, I think splitting them up with dashes will definitely help, maybe we can even randomize them if it helps a lot. Thanks for the video it's beyond helpful!
Feels a lot like Spore cell stage. I like experimenting with different DNA sequences.
