Loved it. A fantastic little puzzle game. The audio goes a long way to make the minimal graphics artful.

Over all, I quite like it. But I'm going to repeat what some people above have said, the controls were a bit too 'floaty' and made it feel like you didn't have the control you should. Controls are pretty critical in a platformer.
Aside from that: Nice simple graphics, get to the point. Quite like the music. I tend to like a more flexible interpretation of the themes, and this is close enough in my books, though it could have gone farther within the mechanics you already had going.
Love me some idle/clicker games.
@ekoxe Thanks!
@foo-squashed-games We were trying to convey that you can click anywhere, but I guess that did end up looking like a button :S
@its-jackal @xedur Yeah, we tried a few things to try and make the early game more clear, but its still pretty trial and error. We wanted to add an animation to make it more like things are moving in/out of the mouse, but didn't really have time.
@jlv Thanks! One of the items you can make in the game actually accelerates the drop when you place them over a black hole. Fast mode was frankly needed for sanity's sake while replaying the game for testing, then we decided to make it available in the final game.
The game seemed to get stuck after eating the tutorial dude? Tab didn't unpause, and clicking didn't do anything?
The monster sounds are top notch.
I like your sprites. This was fun.
FYI the final screen might have some clipped text: ld45 fish game.PNG
A good puzzle game is hard to pull of in a game jam, nice work.
Love the mood. A little hard to tell what's in range of a spell. A chance to turn down the volume would have been good.
I should say for posterity, Matt objected to the game being named "Matt's Marvelous ____"
You got a proper jump out of me :)
Got to the bottom. Super creative. +1 on maybe the drill was a little too loud :)
Puzzle mode is my favourite way to play, its a lot less frenetic.
@lisek-gagatek At some point the game idea got ahead of us and we wandered off the theme for sure :)
Cute!
Loved it. Reminded me of days when I was much younger playing games like chip's challenge.
Nice. Might want to reconsider having all the audio default to max volume though :)
@trulyspinach Did it not start at all? If that's the case could you tell us what OS/browser you are using? It shouldn't take more than a minute.
The game actually downloads the whole song, then does the analysis to generate the beats in the browser. In a more fully baked version we would probably store the beats rather than generating them every time.
I beat the game! I really liked it. Better than the typing tutor programs they gave us back in elementary school.
Unexpected; but a pleasant surprise I suppose?
FYI: Some of the clothes appear to be z-fighting the zombie.
Really neat, I liked it.
(FYI volume changes don't seem to stick)
