Man, I suck at platformers. I guess that's the point though.
And yeah, the music is pretty good.

Man, I suck at platformers. I guess that's the point though.

That's really challenging. I loved the music and art style a lot, simple jump-land sound effects would be improve gameplay a bit i think. It's fun and addicting overall, well done !
I enjoyed the game, the graphics are good, the mechanics are fun and tricky. However, sadly I dont see how it fits with the theme, you "sacrifice" the bricks, but that isn't really sacrifice to me. You have no attachment really to those bricks, so if you could get something to be attached to that you would sacrifice, whether it be a story or part of the mechanics then I think the game would be a lot more suited for Ludum Dare. Other than the theme I do say good work! I am terrible at platformers though... that does not help me...
Hardcore Platformer. Interesting level design and survive rules. Although I die a lot of times, but the game can keep me for playing it.
Solid entry! The music and art were really good, although I'm not sure how it fits with the theme. If I had to make a suggestion for improvement it'd be that the jump height needs to be based on how long you press the jump key, it feels a little clunky to aim your jumps otherwise.
Good music. But the game is too challenging for me and I think it doesn't have strong association with the theme "sacrifice". I hope something more interesting can be added.
Its so difficult, but that is the fun of it. :) I want to keep trying. Nice job !
The controls are quite floaty; by which I mean that you have very little ability to make fine-tune adjustments to your position. If you so much as tap an arrow key, your character will go at least one body-width in that direction, and more critically, they'll keep doing that when you release the button. This makes it quite tricky to land on blocks that are just one tile wide.
I got accustomed enough to it, and managed to get to level seven. It's quite frustrating how you can make blocks despawn just by brushing up against the side of them, and the fact that you have very little recourse in that level means that a single mistake can send you all the way back to the start.
The sound isn't great, if I'm honest. I have no idea what mood the music is trying to convey; is it energetic, or laid back? The trumpet stings seem out of place compared to the subdued bass and percussion, and the saxophone lines seem to just meander. And there are no sound effects. Boo.
First of all, in my opinion, the blocks should be yellow, when you step on it, it gets orange, after a few milliseconds, it gets red, and than explodes. It's really weird don't know when the block will disappear.
Talking about "stepping on it", the block is triggered to disappear when you collide on it. It doesn't matter if it was your foot or your head. It should disappear only when you "land on it", right?

Oh, and some animations and SFX for disappearing/exploding bricks would be pretty nice!
Overall, good job! The art and the music are great.
The music is good but the levels are too hard for me. Great attempt
Nice game! Not sure it fully fitted the theme. Good platformer mechanics and your level design based around the movement mechanics work really well together. Initial starting level could have been slightly easier to get the player used to the movement.
Really like the style. I am a huge fan of platformers. Have to say though I was ready to throw my keyboard out the window at one point haha. I think maybe the platforms should disappear if you land on them not if you accidently brush them. Sooo many times I touched one in the process of landing on it and bam it was gone before I could jump. I agree with everyone it doesn't really fit the theme. but that's just one ranking criteria I guess. Awesome work. I always enjoy a good challenging game...one I finish it that is
This a challenging game, it's fun but I really think there should be some kind of easy mode option like the block can stay longer or it doesn't disappear when you touch it from the side! I only get to level 6 and I am exhausted! Maybe I will continue it later
Also, the player spawn position in Level 2 is kind of bad, you will fall into the air if you are holding left/ right when you respawned. That's super unfriendly for a game that requires players to do a lot of try like yours! Fortunately, this problem doesn't appear in the following level I tried😂
Music is awesome btw
I love the music. The game is very fun and difficult. I feel like the controls are a little too floaty compared to the precision required for some of the jumps. I think allowing a bit more leeway with the jumps or tightening up the controls slightly would go a long way.
Couldn't load the web version, sadly :(
Doesn't really fit the theme as it's not like you need those platforms for anything other than getting you across.
That was hard... Good job ;) I'm using Godot engine too, it always a pleasure to play games made with it!
One thing though, I think the theme does not fit really here. But otherwise, it plays very nicely.
Really fun but damn it was difficult. :p Don't see the link between your entry and the theme ?
Game is interesting, I do think that timings and how much the player slides could be altered to make it easier.
Interesting and fun game. It was however really challenging so I only got to level 7.
Pretty nice game, I would make the red blocks appear after some time and try to remove the gliding from the player. Altough the music was good!
Hot dang, the music is nice!
Thanks for the rating. The music is amazing. I just found out that I suck at Platformers... Great game overall.
Over all, I quite like it. But I'm going to repeat what some people above have said, the controls were a bit too 'floaty' and made it feel like you didn't have the control you should. Controls are pretty critical in a platformer.
Aside from that: Nice simple graphics, get to the point. Quite like the music. I tend to like a more flexible interpretation of the themes, and this is close enough in my books, though it could have gone farther within the mechanics you already had going.
The difficulty is a bit extreme, a bit frustrating to play and the controls aren't that great other than that the game is a pretty well done job!
As said before, controls are a bit too floaty. Graphics are nice and simplistic and the music is a nice background addition. The game would be even better with some sound effects though ^^
Sadly couldn't load the web version on either Chrome and Firefox, with or without adblock :( It says TypeError: document.getElementById(...) is null on line 317 on both accounts. Sorry!
Had a problem with Web version too, so i play the windows version. I got to level 4, and then gave up! But nice job! I always want to get as far as I can to see the work you've done :).
Your presentation is excellent. The music is catchy, and your graphics are consistent. While the idea of disappearing platforms isn't really groundbreaking (haha ><) I can see how it fits the theme nicely, and it created a lot of tension. I'd say maybe decrease the horizontal acceleration a little bit to mostly eliminate the control difficulties. Good game!
The first level was already very difficult, the margins in which you have to jump are extremely thin. I think that it is also not helped by the fact that it appears you are running on ice.
With this music, I can play it for years!
Man, it took me like fifty attempts to get through the first little gap behind the first wall. And of course to miss the exit and die immediately after. And I've tried again another twenty times without success, and I promise I will give it one more cycle when I finish typing this - if not for anything else then for the very interesting music(!), but the gameplay is really too cruel - and I am definitely not good at it.
It's pretty nice as an overall package, the difficulty is just very hard. Even considering it's supposed to be a challenging game, I'd recommend making the difficulty curve more a curve, rather than a cliff, I couldn't get past the first level because of the second jump  Plus points for using Godot!
