I gather this is inspired by the game Maneater. If not, check it out if you haven't heard of it. I enjoyed the intro blurb it made me laugh. Felt a little jank movement wise. Nice simple game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD45 → Cod of Duty

Nice work! I think I may have won? Was 20 point the maximum?
Two points of feedback: 1. I like the idea that the player sprite keeps getting bigger, but I think the sprite gets a bit TOO big. Already at around 10 points the sprite is taking up most of the sceen. 2. Although it's pretty simple, flipping the player sprite's x-scale when the player is moving left can go a long way!
This game is hilarious!!!! Well done, movement is nice and smooth and overall good and simple. The graphics are amazingly funny :D
Fun little game. One thing I noticed was that most of the time it was very difficult to tell if I was moving, and if so what direction I was moving in. Maybe adding some more background objects to give a sense of movement, and zooming the camera out a bit more would help with that. But overall nice work!
Great graphics and a really fun premise. Would have liked a bit more of a goal/end rather than just the sprite filling the screen but was still a fun game :)
This game was funny but not really a good game. The fish doesn't change direction depending on where you move. And it would've been more funny as a game where you are a cod with rifles.
Nice scale of fish itself, I will not cry for boats )
Could use a bit of tweaking, I got to about 21 points, saw part of a message, and then it restarted, so I don't really know what was going on. I actually had to quickly update my game because of a similar UI bug, stuff sometimes looks different in editor than on a page. I loved the look of the characters, pixel art was on point, the sunglasses on the crabs were a cute touch. Also, the pun in the title gave me a chuckle. One mechanic I'd suggest, maybe zoom out as you get bigger? You character grows, but to you it seems like the rest of the world is getting smaller.
This was a really fun game. Short and sweet and made me smile. :)
I like your sprites. This was fun.
FYI the final screen might have some clipped text: ld45 fish game.PNG
Picked this game purely for the name. It was a fun game, easy and clearly inspired by other games. It was hard to tell if I was even moving in the middle of the ocean, and I definitely feel I got too big too fast. But still, fun little game.
Funny and easy-going entry. It really has that Katamari vibe of growing and growing until you take up the entire play area. Pretty funny that you can eat ships as well. I think the game could benefit from not being able to eat items much larger than you until you get closer in size. I'd also like for the fish to always face the direction it's swimming. I eventually ate just about everything in the ocean and got to the end. Fun game!
