LD45 — Start with nothing

I can't run the gamecosmo.PNG

Gnom by FcValise 2019-10-08T01:56:20Z

Graphics and the code are very interesting. I couldn't get past the second obstacle

Higher Desire by ColeSlaughter 2019-10-09T21:40:41Z

I played both versions of your game, nice work. I found the mechanic of a slowing heartbeat and syncing your breath to it quite interesting. Losing breath based on time in the post jam version is a little bit stressfull. Well polished, not much to improve upon. You allow for breathing in the intro sequence to get the player to get comfortable with the mechanic before the game starts.

@peachtreeoath We just had an idea (heh) to show the ideas as bubbles on screen. Then it occured to us to add physics to the bubbles. This jam I even had some time left to polish. I feel like a huge weight is lifted from my shoulders

@slitcher As much as relaxing it is to play it was just as stessfull to develop for us. I'm glad you enjoyed it, cheers

@susumu-asaga You got it right, that was the idea we were going with. The monotone gameplay and expectation for stuff to happen, leads to a meditative state in real life

Zen Master by Onat Saygı 2019-10-09T21:40:45Z

@coleslaughter Great minds think alike :)

We also planned a clicking mechanic but we had to cancel it and change our direction with the game. I'm glad you enjoyed ^-^

King of the Goo by BenPeterson 2019-10-08T02:53:46Z

Insanely fun to play. A lexicon of discovered DNA combinations would be very helpful. Game design and graphics are stellar. Audio could be improved upon

Blind by ukirain 2019-10-08T00:07:01Z

Some text in the english version is in russian. I got stuck shortly after playing. The vector drawings are cool

Homeless Business by Ludo 2019-10-07T22:41:08Z

I played a whole playthrough and managed to get a score of 387. The atmosphere and exploring around the city was cool. Howewer controls felt like sliding on ice. Due to placement of the drop off zone and garbage spawn zones I found myself only going for the couple closest spawn points. Capture.PNG

Pimp my voxel by TheoG 2019-10-08T02:32:22Z

The graphics were a treat. Level design can be improved upon. Cube editor could be made easier to access

Dead Again by Joe Bustamante 2019-10-08T00:41:31Z

Quick and fun to play game. Nice surprise in the story. The lenght was a little lacking. Dashing and then attacking works too well. Some more variety in viable fighting strategies would be better.

Droog by ImPasta 2019-10-07T23:28:20Z

A very interesting control scheme. At the beginning it was quite challenging to move around with hopping. I didn't find myself utilizing the movement keys until I got all of them. The controls are solid. At some point I lost my gun, looked for a new one but I didn't find anything to fight with and lost. Same movement mechanic might work really well in a slower paced game.

Direction Defection by mrdrakert 2019-10-07T23:52:18Z

Rules of the game was really easy to understand and execute. The levels were a little bit too easy. Some graphical polish could be added. It was neat overall. On the ending screen repeat counter is shown 0 altough mine was 12 Direction Defection.png

Afloat by Nigma 2019-10-08T00:59:14Z

Cool little sandbox. Mixing the tiles reminds me of powdergame. Kudos for godot :) I managed to get every block (I assume?) afloat.PNG

Draw My Game by Lorin Werthen 2019-10-08T00:32:56Z

Drawing the ingame objects is a really cool idea. It would be amazing if it saved my drawing for the next playthrough. Song is very catchy. Polish of the game is on point too. Has potential to be released and sold on mobile. Amazing Also much love for godot <3 drawmygame.PNG

9 Rooms Many Buttons by PenguinBoy 2019-10-07T23:58:20Z

The camera controls was difficult with the mouse going off screen. I couldn't get past the first room. I think brute forcing is posible but not much fun. More clues would be nice nothing.PNG

LD45 - Start with nothing by oHNQApWJgcPr8vAI9CxO1MMonUgLJxwi 2019-10-07T23:15:01Z

The sound effets are amusing. I had some trouble with placing buildings. A grid or preview would make it much easier to place buildings. In the first couple moments of playing I wasn't sure what commodity does what I figured it was tiered just a little bit later. Not knowing how much of a resource is required to proceed to the next tier was frustrating. Managed to build a gold statue oHNQApWJgcPr8vAI9CxO1MMonUgLJxwi.PNG

There is no beginning without "Nothing" by VavouZen 2019-10-07T23:37:45Z

Quite creative but I got stuck after a couple scenes. A way to give the player more hints after getting stuck would be neat. At the monster scene character speeds a little bit different so after some point player follows the monster :) words.PNG

Disabled Hospital by Paulsams 2019-10-08T01:33:19Z

Artstyle was on point. Audio didn't fit the game too well. Attacks feel weak, enemies take too long to die

A Journey Close, A Journey Far by nobless09 2019-10-08T00:17:23Z

The artstyle is so cute I love it. I got stuck after restoring the energy crystal :c

I found a bug that allow you to walk into corners if you move diagonally :) closefar.PNG
