LD45 — Start with nothing

Neon Void by egawag 2019-10-22T04:13:18Z

Hey, your game is really beautiful. How did you do the effect with all the lights when you die? Was this made in Unity?

King of the Goo by BenPeterson 2019-10-24T14:30:02Z

Feels a lot like Spore cell stage. I like experimenting with different DNA sequences.

The Mystery Box by W0lfEnstein 2019-10-10T19:25:32Z

Currently my favorite game of the jam! The puzzles could use a little work with visual clarity but the overall concept and puzzles themselves are really good. I could see you continuing with this as a full game for iOS! Good job, I'm upset I didn't think of this haha

Who's Your Weapon by Kevin Ray 2019-10-24T14:16:32Z

@brokenmirrormedia Thanks! It's odd, every playtester thinks a different weapon is OP! I tried to make it so different weapons were better against different enemies not by stats but by the circumstance of mechanics but it could definitely use some work. Thanks for playing

LD55 — Summoning

Devotion - A fairytale by daandruff 2024-04-16T04:07:26Z

Love the art and mood of everything. I think I may have gotten softlocked with the hand trapped under the book. If I'm not softlocked then interaction is unclear. It was unclear before this too but that doesn't matter if the game is figuring out how to interact with it. The problem is when I got a walkthrough up and I still can't solve it. Overall great entry and excellent tone.

Sumo-ning by wolderado 2024-04-16T04:14:37Z

Wow I love all the juice here! Honestly with just a tiny bit more work and local 4 player multiplayer, I would buy this on steam. The spiderwebs were a good obstacle and I'm sure you would implement more if you had more time. This is my favorite entry I've seen so far. Great job!

Conjuweave by optimatica 2024-04-16T02:31:13Z

The concept is good but without any tutorial or tooltips it's hard to know what to do so you're kinda just doomed on your first run unless you get lucky. After that, there's it's all just math and there is an objectively correct option every round after a reroll. Would love to see more chance or change in the enemies too. Good job for the jam tho!

I recommend using asset packs instead of AI. Itch has a ton up for free and non-commercial licenses. Or just take a shot at your own even if you're not an artist. You may find it surprising what you can achieve with some default engine assets.

Cult of the Cook by Don Fouts 2024-04-16T02:15:10Z

Game kept lagging and crashing but the time I did get to play was fun. I quite like all the animations, especially on the arrow keys when performing the summoning, along with the grunts from the character. And the loop of summoning a monster just to slaughter it for food is so funny. Dungeon Meshi to the extreme!

Elemental Surge by Foursay 2024-04-16T03:58:52Z

Wow genuinely really fun. The sprites were all really cute and the music was fantastic. I'd love to see more types of combinations and effects that could come from it like the big spinning shot.

Liberatio Periculum by TheMiSta92 2024-04-16T02:02:24Z

Gameplay was fun but the interaction was a bit wonky. It would seem as though my spell hit an enemy but didn't do anything. Other than that, it was pretty fun just running around and killin enemies. Been playing Helldivers lately so I already got the muscle memory for the spell inputs!

Capture the King by ZEN 2024-04-16T01:32:19Z

This was actually so fun. It's a chess problem that you can forge the answer to by summoning. The only issue for me was that I was unsure what the order in which my pieces were gonna move, leading them to making some dumb decisions for me. I wish I could control them after I place them and perhaps your mana continues to go down every move and when you hit 0 you lose. But that's a whole nother game. Point is great job!

Poltergeist for Hire by JudJudson 2024-04-16T02:48:21Z

So cute. I love throwing stuff around with physics. I've used the exact same mechanic as telekinesis for combat in a game but I was cracking up using the same method to try to open the microwave only to realize I was supposed to open the oven. Too much doordash for me I suppose. Anyway, great game! Keep it up!

Hellish Military Service by Anton4ik-dev 2024-04-16T02:24:46Z

I am very confused on what makes people fit or not or when to kill. Game just needs a tutorial and clearer typeface for the fonts. The character art is impressive. Is it randomized because it fit together really well!

Gacha May Cry by Rojoin 2024-04-16T01:39:45Z

Think I got stuck on a bug. Couldn't swipe the credit card and leave that scene. Happened twice. The art is lovely though!

Imagining Dragons by Falk Hoeppner 2024-04-16T04:36:55Z

Super cute schmup! I really like the transitions between the two phases of gameplay even if I didn't really know what was going on. You kinda just go with the flow and it didn't feel punishing to fail. Good job all around!

Essence Devourer by EasilyDistracted 2024-04-16T04:42:16Z

Love the visuals and the multiple character management is quite fun. I kept trying to select things like it was Starcraft though. Anyway, great job!

Necroshamancer by Nyla J 2024-04-16T02:52:48Z

Yo the bg music is a banger. Nice touch with the compendium too. Great job overall!

Demon Delivery Center by Franco Farallo 2024-04-16T01:52:55Z

There's a lot going on at once and you're kinda thrown right in. With more visual clarity I think it would be easier to understand the process. Had to game over once pretty quickly before I really knew what to do but after that the game concept played out well.

FERRYMAN by Wwwan 2024-04-16T02:41:15Z

I like the idea of summoning different familiars for different challenges but I was able to use bird boi to triple jump to everything! There was also just a lot of odd bits of game feel that would need work but you got Coyote Time! Keep it up!

Child of Ruin by Rick Williams 2024-04-16T02:07:28Z

I kept running into bugs and crashing but this was an ambitious project for a game jam. The music is fire too. I kinda sat on the menu for quite a bit just so I could keep listening.

Adiego by cascadee 2024-04-16T07:25:30Z

I really like the guys ordering the golems and how they look at you when you ding the bell. Nice detail!

The Stone Summoners by GDMage 2024-04-16T01:45:20Z

Really enjoy the artstyle and the glittering visual effects. The music was quite relaxing as well!

Farmer Survivor by Pupirka 2024-04-16T04:26:40Z

Extremely impressive for a first game ever! This was obviously a lot of work too. Only thing I really disliked was getting blocked by my own summons. You're a great game dev, keep learning!

Deadly Roots by Vincent4096 2024-04-16T01:16:47Z

Pretty fun. I love tower defense games and a reverse version is interesting. I'd love to see more depth in the types of units or some adaptation from the opponent, like rebuilding towers. It's a game jam so only so much you can do ofc. Keep it up!
