Good game, i really loved the art. It was quite difficult to understand what to do at first but the cheat sheet was such a reliever, great job! Your concept is extremely interesting.

That is a really cool concept, I love the multiplayer idea. Unfortunately I'm way too bad to get anywhere. My buildings kept being out of power so I build a lot oil plants to get something quick but then firestorms devastated everything and the fire fighters seem to be not much help. Maybe I'm too blame for creating more firestorms with the oil plants?
This was great fun! Though unfortunately, just as I had nearly enough rocket parts, the game seemed to stop advancing (i.e. it remained paused regardless of when I pressed play or fast forward). Other than that, I really enjoyed this - great pixel art and music.
Very cool game. Great entry!
Got an error after a while and it seems to sadly break the game: ``` InvalidOperationException: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
```
besides that
Wow! this is an awesome idea and very great execution! the art is really superb and the gameplay is addicting!
great job!
Very cool, seems a bit easy but I guess maybe it'll be harder for later generations once resources like water trickle down. It wasn't clear how ore and oil are replenished so I didn't use them at all
More importantly holy crap you guys implemented a whole strategic base management game that looks good, even ignoring the multiplayer aspect this is extremely impressive stuff
Game is really good, simple yet can be hard when firestorms decide to burn your whole map.
"Multiplayer" concept is interesting, each player that plays is stuck with whatever one before left. After launching rocket I got only graph with my resource usage. I think it should also say something more.
I really liked this game
Not enough water to get to the end, thank you previous player !
Nice idea though, but firestorm come so often, and firefighter can't fight large enough area imo, that way all water is wasted for bringing up firefighter all around.
Thank you guys for playing so far! I'm glad you enjoyed it. @jonah Thanks for pointing that out. We're now aware of a bug triggered by the Decontaminator and we're looking into it.
Really well done, though it seemed to get stuck on year 5 for some reason, play/fastforward/pause seem to have no effect any more. I'm not sure if it was finishable anyhow since there was basically no water left.
Also pausing the animations on pause would've been clearer to tell what's going on.
@moffkalast there was a bug with the decontaminator building, but it should be working now. Feel free to give it another go and see if you can launch your rocket :)
This is incredible game! I played it a lot, and had tons of fun. I didnt fully undesrstood what the graphs meant at the end thou. Congrats you two!
I am with @wiredsound I had collected all the resources and was about to make the parts. Really fun game with a solid message. I had a blast playing it and am surprised you managed all this in such a short time period, well done!
Amazing! I love this game, and idea with this graphs is cool. When i played i didn't understand one of the icons, in the end i learnt that was pollution, and i supposed to keep it low. Need descriptions for icons on the left side. Other than that it's incredible little game, i enjoyed it a lot!
This game is so cool ! I loved it, and the multiplayer part is a fun bonus, I love seeing the evolution of the curves throughout the games played. The pixel art designs were on point, and the music is cool. I was a bit confused at first but I quickly understood what was going on and managed to launch the rocket (sorry I made the pollution level go wayy up x) )
Your game attracted me from the first time I saw it. Unfortunately my span of attention is not long enough at the moment to play it in depth. I'm very tired after this long weekend haha What I did see was very impressive. Somehow you pulled it off to make an awesome looking game with nice atmosphere and good fitting sound effects which reminds me a lot of simcity. The fact that you made it that every player has an impact on the next one who plays it is just the coolest idea ever! I wanted to do something similar, but I could not think of ways or game ideas that allowed for that.
My Girlfriend acctually finished it when I told her about your game. Here is her feedback: So, the game is awesome! It started with a clear intro, and the concept of 'sharing the earth with the next generation' is quite close to the current discussions around. I like the strategy behind it, though as you probably already know it would help if there are some tips in-game. Like, "There is a firestorm coming! Build firestations (etc)." It is genuily a difficult game, so you would have to like it. And as I said it is awesome: I made it to the end of the game and build the rocket. The music and graphics fit nicely with the game. They are not too difficult and the small color aspects on the chimneys and stuff are nice details. It would help if when you hover over something you build, you remind the player which object is missing currently to keep it stable.
This is amazing. I hope my contributions to reducing pollution help! (it was at 1 when i won!) Best game I've seen yet.
Thank you all for the amazing feedback. It feels amazing to see how many people actually pick up the idea, finish the game and make the whole idea work!!
@wouter52 I am glad you and your girlfriend enjoyed the game. The game definitely could have used a better introduction. The learning curve is quite steep and some concepts are not really explained. We just simply didn't have the time to add more instructions. But next time we will reduce the scope a bit to have more time for polishing!
This entry was very interesting, the concept is something that I did really not think about, where the loop was part of the game but out of each player control. While I loved the idea of it, I wish it was a bit easier to start to get into since I got lost really quick. All in all a nice game with a cool concept, I just wish there was a tutorial, haha!
I really liked the multiplayer concept! The balance seems surprisingly good too. I like the art and music. Very fun all around!
I think the idea here is really great! Honestly it was a lot of fun figuring out how each building and resource interconnected. I do think the game could do with some balancing, as I couldn't learn fast enough to build the buildings I needed to, whilst maintaining a eye on the fire storm meter. The fire fighter facilities don't really cover enough ground in my opinion, so I was constantly cycling off firefighters in different locations depending on which buildings are most important. Overall, really great work and really interesting game.
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen the execution was amazing as well, I can't believe you managed it in 3 days so polished, be proud! It would have been *super* helpful if building listed what they were missing when you hovered over them and overall this concept is just so great I love it! I will definitely play this on my phone later as well. Bravo bravo, amazing game super polished awesome concept graphically pleasing good job!
This game is great, but sometimes it gets a little confusing. The building are hard to identify, and I got some buildings destroyed by firestorms, it took my a while to notice I am missing some facility. The firestorms are a complete pain in the ass :-) But i managed to launch the rocket! I was player 20, and after finishing the game I launched it again, as player 21, so I would expect to start with the same amount of the resources as I left on the planet in the previous play, but there was certainly more water and oil than at the end of my first game. But I had 100 water already in my stock, so maybe that gets added back to the planet? Anyway, really cool game, can't believe you did this in three days. Amazing.
Thank you for playing everyone. @ondy1985 you are right about the water being added back. When testing we found it annoying having to stop our pumps when we had enough water or oil just not to waste it. So we made it that after you launch the rocket all water, oil and ore left in your storage is added back to the planet.
We also decided, from a story point of view, that there is quite some time between each civilization. For the resources this means that we add a small amount of water, ore and oil to the planet before each round. That's why on the graph you sometimes see oil and ore go up, if someone didn't use them at all.
@themoonrise thanks for the explanation. It makes sense, as when I left on the rocket, the resources were left behnd. Personally, I didn't know that the resources were going to be added back, so as soon as I realized I have more water than I will possibly need, I buldozed all water pumps, to save something for next players. For me, it added an extra layer to the game, to gather only as much resources as I needed for my survival.
Thanks again for the game, it's perfect.
This game still holds a special place in my heart, years later and I come to it every Ludum Dare for inspiration. I love the art, the strategy, the multiplayer. It's just so polished and beautiful and fun and really just flat out cool. Absolutely amazing entry that sticks with me.
