This is really slick and cool looking, what the hell????? Nice job!!
Im a sucker for ps1 aesthetic, but this also pretty dam amazing. The combat isn't deep but the urgency of every day makes it fun. Very well played and just wow! This could be a real game.
What a nice action game! The seven day are a realy good idea, i was lost for the first 2 days. I wish the player hit on the cam direction, but that not a big deal.
Some nice action game like that in a LD are some breath of fresh air.
Whoa, this is surprisingly very well polished, good job! This feels like the type of game that would have/has multiple different endings, I could see potential in this being fleshed out/expanded more. Gameplay feels very smooth and it's fun to move around and do things. My only complaint is that the content itself gets a bit repetitive, maybe extra level variety could help with that!
Very interesting concept, but the game was a bit to hard for me.
Very cool concept AND graphic. The movement felt a bit too fast? Maybe a question of mouse sensitivity. It is also true that any bullet hells I played were in 2D, which eliminates part of the challenge, so maybe that's where my difficulty comes in...
Again, very nice concept, I will try to replay to try and get all the possible endings. Which is basically the highest compliment for a game XD
Of the best game I tested yet, fun, not too long / short, music and aesthetic perfect Got a final score of 375
Wow! Animations, cutscenes, mechanics, sounds - it's amazing how much polish you managed to apply in the short period we all had. Loved the concept and genuinely had fun playing. Not much criticism from me, maybe only that sometimes the hit box of the scythe feels a bit off in certain cases - graphically it looks like it hits, but it doesn't register - but this is just nit picking. Well done!
@scolondev If you think it's repetitive now, just think about how the earlier stages of the game had it lasting 21 days haha
Thank you for the review!
@theherborist Thanks for the feedback :) The movement was a constant back and forth of tweaking and fine tuning, especially the camera - the mouse movement was a last minute addition, originally it was just pressing Q and E :P
@indronna so you saw the secret then? ;)
@surr-sloidah Yeah, it was quite funny tbh ^^
Wow, what a presentation! I love the atmosphere, combat and vfx. Amazing job for such a short amount of time!
You really succeeded at making the combat feel fluid and good, animations and blood look great. Very well polished entry!
First of all- props to you for creating all these 3d assets in such short period of time lol. I had fun while playing this but for some reason not being able to jump really triggered me. Nice cinematic intro as well! I had fun playing it thanks for sharing :)
Awesome work. Really loved the overall presentation and the game loop is solid. The maniacal bit-crushed laughter was also a nice touch.
Wow, there's so much in this! Really nice aesthetic and smooth gameplay. You can tell everyone put a lot of hard work into this. Nice job.
Impressive atmosphere, love the art. Gameplay is also satisfying.
Love the art style and effects, just the minor complaint of disappearing fence and player character when you get close to something. Also would be nice to have a bit different levels each day. Anyway played till the end with very bad score, but I enjoyed it anyway :D
@pitisek Thanks for the feedback :) The disappearing objects is intentional, it's so that they don't obscure the camera when you're in the middle of a fight. And more levels was something we wanted to implement, but in the end I only had the time to create 3 combat levels and 2 farm levels.
Amazing! Really enjoyed this game. Cool idea, graphics.
Such a nice concept and joyful gameplay. Not too easy and not too hard. Would like more level variety, but it was a 3 days jam ahahhaha Good job.
One of the more complete and well rounded projects I have played. The action and dashing is pretty fun. The camera felt a little rough around the edges at times moving when I didn't intend on it. Outside of that great game, the amount of polish is impressive with animations and sounds. Combat was fluid once you get towards the end of days. Well done. I came out with an 'acceptable' favour score. I may live.
Impressive game, nothing else to say really. Very good job !
@cloughd no promises that you will live
Very cool game. As Modeler myself I liked the low poly look and the art. It fits very well together. And then this smooth game on top. Nice job guys!
Very well done, would be nice to have dash mapped to RMB and maybe some sort of lock on. I didn't really feel like I had the degree of control I wanted but to have such a slick combat system in such a short time is commendable regardless. I really enjoyed the presentation, there were a few elements that felt like they clashed but over all it was very atmospheric. Sound design was nicely done too!
Honestly my biggest issue is I wish you would have had only one gameplay mode where some areas of the level have wheat and some just have combat. I think it would probably have been a smoother experience that way and the fact that I had two options didn't really add anything exciting to the game for me.
Overall though this is a really well made entry and you should all be proud!
Polished and tactile
Very interesting! I like this type of game very much! So that I was shocked to see such a high-quality game in such a short time! Fun!
The game was actually quite challenging and fun. The graphics and audio were really good and I liked the story behind the game. It felt like you had all the pieces of the puzzle. Every aspect of the game fits together. Nicely done!
Not a bad game. It was fun to run around enemies... I do not know what else to add, because in general it was really cool, huh).
@xandruher @organicpencil @nani @paulsams thank you all for the feedback :)
@boaheck-artgent And another thanks to you as well, just giving ya an extra line to respond to your feedback :P I did consider during development having a map or gamemode where it was a hybrid of combat and wheat farming, though as the deadline drew close and the two modes still requiring balance, I decided to scrap the idea in favour of trying to tune each gamemode on their own, to encourage players to figure out how to effectively manage the limited time they've been given.
Amazing level of polish! I really enjoyed the art and sound design, great job!
Great game!
Just wow! Absolutely love the mood and gameplay. Even the way how enemies telegraph their attacks is a very clever decision. Got myself a 226 devotion and a good (I guess) ending on my first run but it was still very fun and challenging.
F Pressers pay you respect!
Graphics are amazing and movement feels really good. Audio was nice also. The only problem that I could see is that there was way too many text in the screen at times. Good work!
Great looking game with a sinister atmosphere. Slashing the enemies (and even wheat) feels really satisfying.
I played through twice because I wanted the good ending, and I really botched the start of the first run because my mouse sensitivity was too high. I had to drop it quite a bit to play this, but once I did it was a lot of fun.
Damn this game is super polished, was really impressed by all the audio, animations, and especially all the low poly particle effects. Great submission, I had a lot of fun.
Great game! One of the best i have played so far, the graphics are really good especially the projectiles, and the player attack is really fluid and responsive, well done!
Great grapchics and animations.
This was really fun! The controls are really responsive and satisfying, even on mouse and keyboard! It's very fun getting to learn the layouts of the two maps and figuring out how to best optimise a route, and the concept of having a limited amount of time to do so makes things really interesting. Overall, fabulous work!!
Good controls, absorbing gameplay. Fantastic achievement for a jam, be proud of yourselves. Loved the evil laugh.
I liked the mood of the game with the eerie music and the devilish laughing. Really made the atmosphere. For me the concept of the gameplay felt a bit stiff and repetitive. I think I would've also enjoyed the game without a long explanation. Just slashing some robed guys and wheat and have fun xD
Really great atmosphere, I loved the tolling of the bell with the evil laugh. Each day ticking by with a solemn bell. I did find it hard to get health back as there seemed to be a lack of health potions. This caused me to die on multiple days :(. Overall though I really liked the hack and slash gameplay, could use a bit of screen shake for some extra juice!
I love the gameplay! So juicy. In fact it's so juicy and fun that it's a bit disappointing when it's suddenly disrupted by the end of the night. I would love a version where I can just try to clear a level without any time pressure. Would pay for that for sure. It feels like bullet hell meets souls like which is something I haven't seen executed like this before. Really, really love it. Would love to play more at some point. Great job.
Thanks for your submission, I had quite a fun time harvesting some heretics!
Wow! Love the ambient sounds and music, super nice. The animations were really really nice too. I liked the blood cube particles too :D.
I think it would have been nice to be able to attack just by holding left click instead of having to spam it, I simulated it by having a autohotkey script that spams left click for me as its quit tiring :).
Very exciting game. The characters move very smoothly and the atmosphere is created great.
What a *fascinating* game - the ambiance, the dark humor, they STYLE. This game has it. I loved it :D
A very complete ACT game prototype. The battle is very smooth, and you won't get dizzy when you adjust the viewing angle. The concept is also very interesting. I hope you can continue to develop it!
Looks very nice! I love the models, sounds and cutscenes! One of my favorite entries in this game jam so far.
Cool graphics, well integrated sound. Found the difficulty really high. Was only able to kill a couple of heretics each day. Maybe would have found it easier if i had an xbox controller. Menu felt a little out of place. Great game!
I really liked the graphics and the particles effects. The sensitivity for the mouse movement was a bit too high, but you already mentioned it was a last minute addition. Overall, a great game: good work!
Fun game. The graphics are really polished and look nice. I would've liked to have been able to change my mouse sensitivity, but that's really a small issue. There is a lot of stuff in this game and that's really impressive to me.

@orhu It is possible to change the mouse sensitivity, if you check out the options tab you can set your mouse sensitivity between 1 and 10 (the default being 4)
looks very nice and sound effects are awesome
This is one of the nicer games out there, so I list my issues with it first.
Not fan of extensive patching during rating period, but oh well, I guess it is allowed by rules and at least you are open with it.
I don't like cramped WASD + Shift control scheme. Would move dash to space AND right mouse button.
I think it is geared too hard for being jam game. Might be just that I suck at everything 3rd person.
It is damn slow outside of gameplay. I guess pacing is ok for first time story mode, but playing it again it just hurts to wait and watch those very slow texts, and same cut scenes again and again. This I feel is only real mistake in design, in my philosophy all that menu/intermission/death screen time should be minimized in this kind of super fast action game.
But then good things. Very tight controls, very good feeling dash. Better dash than in my own game actually. Movement speeds etc. are very well balanced. Good effects for the dash too. Dash cooldown could be bit shorter though.
I really like enemy designs, mechanics wise. Super simple to read and understand, still helluva lot of variation. Works perfectly for this kind of game, real bullet hell feel.
Those level start and end in game cutscenes are very well done and do a lot for making it feel polished game, even if they slow down pacing.
Story is fine, music supports atmosphere and mood in general is well thought. Graphics style and palette is strong.
All in all, one of the better games in the jam. Would play post jam version.
@jormarysky Thank you for the extensive feedback :) I made sure to check the rules before rolling out patches, and it is OK as long as it's not new features, which this game's patches fall under; All they've been so far is bug fixes and an extra build just to refine the gameplay and make it more accessible to people (since the WebGL build came out it's gotten more browser plays than the desktop version has downloads, despite being out for less time than the desktop builds)
If I had more time, rebindable controls would be something I'd like to implement, but I think this would be a bit too substantial an addition for the jam and would be something to add afterwards. As well as the ability to speed through certain dialogue or cutscenes - as I agree, it can get a bit slow on replays.
@surr-sloidah Yeah its ok, it is just me having too strict mentality. Mostly participated in GMTK, which is very much absolutely no after fixes- kind of jam.
This was pretty fun, really like the graphics style and idea of the game. Difficulty was very high making it hard to get much of a flock, often times not making it past the 60 second mark. One thing I did notice was the player doesn't always face the direction the camera is facing making it sometimes confusing why I'm not hitting someone I'm standing next too. Strong style and a fun core idea. Not sure if I ran into a glitch or not but I did reach day negative 3 so there is that as well. Great work!Screenshot 2023-01-15 130242.jpg
@bloodfin can confirm, that -3 days remaining is most definitely a bug. Do you know what steps you took that caused that to happen?
EDIT: I've found the problem, will be rolling out a fix soon.
Hey there, this was pretty awesome! I ended up playing your game on stream!
Here's the VoD so you can jump to your chapter and see it again! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYvmJ8_8kww
This game was just so dang fun to play. Even if there was nothing else, the combat felt super satisfying. The fact that it was tied to measurable progress and consequence gave it more _meaning_. The need to harvest wheat in order to feed the flock was a clever double-down on the theme, and it actually added variety to the gameplay. It required the player to think of a balance.
Is there a reason I wouldn't just always play the field level, if I could gain food and heretics in the same level?
The only thing I would want in addition to this is a new "level select" that is more integrated into the world, rather than implemented as a basic start menu. I'm imagining the patron in some darkened chamber, and you have two portals to choose from, one that takes you to harvest heretics, and one that takes you to harvest the field. I think that would be super neat!
@hawkin Thanks for playing! The idea is that you don't gather as much favor points for dealing with heretics in the field levels - they're meant to be more of a distraction from gathering crops for your flock.
Having an in-game lobby sounds very fitting for the game! Definitely going to discuss it with the team for a full version.
