LD52 — Harvest

Harvest Doom by tinykidtoo 2023-01-14T18:21:22Z

Missed out on the tutorial the first time playing and was left confused, but I've read another comments. This is quite fun, though unbalanced and a little too simple. Love the punchy shotgun. Great job making the game!

#NoOneDeservesToBeAnEggHoover by bellatrion 2023-01-15T12:08:38Z

The concept is interesting. The game suffers from a lack of variety, both in terms of audio and gameplay - I like the song that's used for harvesting, but it got old rather quick. Putting different types of eggs into different containers would already add a lot to the fun. Regardless, great job finishing a game!

Click Click Farm by boaheck-artgent 2023-01-10T16:46:32Z

I've enjoyed this a lot!

The game is very addicting and therapeutic - you can really sink hours into this without realizing it. The simple graphics are charming and pleasant to look at and the music definitely fits the relaxing and fun mood this game has.

I wish I could hold the button down to buy new land quicker once you have all the tools at your disposal; a rectangle select/fill tool would also be perfect to try out different planting patterns now that I have two million dollars to toy with. Higher variety in plants would be nice just to have more different colors, but it's really not necessary.

Death In Time by Yorsh 2023-01-10T17:32:14Z

Short and on point. The character is fun to control and it feels cool to jump around the environment while trying to find the best pattern for getting the little guys one by one. I wish the audio had a little variation; the automatic kill can get in the way of a perfect score. Regardless, I've enjoyed it!

Super Plantoid by dans17 2023-01-14T14:43:10Z

Very cool game :) The art is gorgeous and the soundtrack fits the game really well!

I didn't have any problems with controlling the little man, but I found the lack of any information inside the game itself to be a little frustrating and pace breaking, so I just stumbled around for a bit. It also wasn't obvious to me that the seeds are infinite which caused some more stumbling, but that's on me. While the gameplay is responsive, the lack of any map system makes exploring feel unrewarding and slow.

Still, I had my fun! Great job with finishing such a polished experience in time.

Samhain by daitli 2023-01-11T15:54:28Z

Simple, but fun! Fluid and responsive controls, immersive audio, pleasant graphics :) I wish there was more feedback for when a soul is about to escape - it's quite hard to keep track of them.

Ethereal Harvest by ElMikosch 2023-01-14T16:37:12Z

Needs a bit more polish like UI and better audio feedback, as well as enemy variety. It does not feel fair to have enemies jump at the player before the camera even reached the room. Still, good job making a game!

Boxed In by BurnsDesigns 2023-01-13T17:52:58Z

Very simple and to the point. It's very cute to see the DVD logo turn into an evil face when it's close enough to the player. I only wish there was a bit more feedback in terms of audio, maybe some particles as a cherry on top of good visuals.

Plot Luck by Ani 2023-01-10T17:20:29Z

Very innovative, scarily addictive! Went broke a couple of times, but I caught up on the turn tokens thing eventually. The game allows for a lot of creativity despite the RNG factor. Cute graphics and audio make the overall experience quite relaxing and pleasant. The money and token limits sting

Seven Favors by surr-sloidah 2023-01-20T07:27:16Z

@hawkin Thanks for playing! The idea is that you don't gather as much favor points for dealing with heretics in the field levels - they're meant to be more of a distraction from gathering crops for your flock.

Having an in-game lobby sounds very fitting for the game! Definitely going to discuss it with the team for a full version.

URSA MAIOR by ekaktusz 2023-01-10T16:55:39Z

Short and sweet, seems perfect for PICO-8 :) The second part was very fun to control.

Iris's Scrappy Rumble by ScolonDev 2023-01-11T16:13:21Z

I like this a lot! The pixel art is nice to look at and the sound design is punchy. My only complaint is the amount of unused scraps laying around after a bit - it hides the enemies and makes it harder to combine new recipes intentionally.

Yggdrasil by AntonyMo 2023-01-14T13:19:28Z

Very difficult, yet rewarding every time you figure out the solution. You really can't brute force the game! Instead, you have to slow down and think through possible solutions, all while trying to keep in mind the requirements for each plant (keeping them on the screen at all times would be helpful). Level 11 is when the game became a true head-scratcher for me. Overall, it was a very nice experience! I can see this becoming a premium puzzle game for mobile platforms to take on the go.

Greenfinger! by TomasPraestholm 2023-01-10T18:00:07Z

This was very cute! The art style is filled with warm summer vibes and the design of characters is adorable. With some more songs and a less abridged story, this game can easily become a full experience. The fact that you can't hit the notes a little late is brutal, but I think I got used to it and got the best ending :) I wish the columns weren't so far apart as that makes it harder to keep track of everything. Overall, a very impressive amount of work in such short amount of time.

The Pets Over The Innsmouth by 21st Century 2023-01-15T10:03:02Z

I feel so evil for crushing the little guys ;~; Love every aspect of the game, but a speed-up button would neat.

Deep Harvest VII by Bloodfin 2023-01-10T18:39:37Z

Very immersive adventure. The amount of effort you put into the game is astounding - every aspect of it seems highly polished (though the audio clicks (unless it's just on my end?) are distracting). I only wish the environment wasn't as open or that it had some always visible guides/points of interest as it is quite easy to get lost with no real way to realign yourself. I look forward to playing the full release :)
