Thanks man, it means a lot to me!
@taqoshaq Yeah near the end I had some trouble with figuring out how the game's difficulty would increase as the waves progressed. I might iron this out in a update or in VitalGun 2. Thank you for the feedback!
@danidev I just realized a year and a half later that you're the real Dani lmao
This actually isnt that bad lmao
AMONG US
very nice
@wizkid The sharks can be killed, you have to hit them 3 times. Same goes for the enemy subs. Thanks for the awesome feedback!
@ben-taylor Unfortunately I can't build a web version because I don't own GameMaker Studio HTML5, I can compile a version for Mac with the version of GMS2 that I have but I don't own a Mac to compile it on.
@rudragamedev Thanks for the feedback!
@ben-taylor if you have GMS2 Desktop on your mac you can download the source code for the game and compile your own version
This game was super fun and had interesting mechanics
I like the abstract art style you went for, reminds me a lot of Thomas Was Alone. The jump boost was fun as well and I like the idea of the player getting weaker after each use of the powerup. Im struggling to see how this fits with the theme exactly (although that doesn't matter) but this is clearly an abstract art piece with a good anti-addiction/drug message behind it. I think some music and sound effects would have gone a long way in setting the mood.
This game is a proper successor to Missile Command. This 100% belongs in an arcade cabinet or an Atari 2600. The name is also really creative. We also had the same idea of using a radar for our games, but your radar looks way better than mine (mine is just a straight line). There's tons of potential here and I think this would be something fun to keep working on after the jam is over. Keep up the good work!
@barnabewild Thanks!
@fabelay @tanjou Thanks!
This is easily one of the best games on here, I wouldn't be surprised if this won the Compo. I really enjoyed the simple vector/pixel graphics, as well as the sound design. I was hooked immediately. The ending also subverted my expectations a bit too (in a good way). Keep up the good work!
I really love the concept/lore of this game, the art style is sick as well (I'm a sucker for 2.5d). My only issues are that the camera is always facing forward, and there isn't really any tension or a lose condition as far as I can tell. The characters are desperate to get the fires lit, but the music and overall vibe of the game doesn't convey that. Having a time limit and making the map a bit larger would make this far more engaging. You have a very solid foundation here and with a bit more work this could be a fantastic game I think. Keep up the good work!
I forgot to mention this in my original post but the pyromaniac in me really enjoyed being able to light the trees on fire >:)
Super creative way of breathing new ideas into the bullet hell genre. I'm not that good at bullet hell games so I died almost immediately lol
