This game is a proper successor to Missile Command. This 100% belongs in an arcade cabinet or an Atari 2600. The name is also really creative. We also had the same idea of using a radar for our games, but your radar looks way better than mine (mine is just a straight line). There's tons of potential here and I think this would be something fun to keep working on after the jam is over. Keep up the good work!

Great game, surprisingly deep gameplay. Having to take into account the enemy speed, missile speed, distance, sonar scan time. Great fun! Only complaint, when you run out of missiles and still have an enemy left, it can take a while for that missile to hit before you can move one. Great game!

xotraz 2026-04-20 16:32

A well executed and well thought-out iteration of the radar, good job!

@ethan-hammonds Thank you very much for your kind words  I was thinking of releasing it as a full game after the jam. Any ideas for some extra content?

the1 2026-04-21 15:51

@sam-horner Thanks for playing! Yeah this is one of the things that will be in postjam(maybe some speed up sequence?).

Wow! Neat little game, I like how you kinda have to predict where they are once they drop off your radar. Wish there was some sort of upgrade system or smaller radars you could attach to your towns. Great entry! One of the best I've seen.

That opening screen, what a mood! Fun take on the missile command style game, really gets the theme/mood down. I thought I was getting into the flow of it, but then day 6 became a bit overwhelming. Survived 10 days in total

Nice game! Simple yet stylish, I enjoyed playing it. I'd also suggest adding different types of missiles with different behaviour to make the gameplay more varied

A really cool game! It was a lot of fun! I really like the simple design. It fits the game very well.

Great polish, great twist on missile command.

I love the way this game was made, it was well done and the music fit the mood. Good job!

Pretty damn old-school-cool game! Mechanics are simple and intuitive, but very smooth. Art style is great and evokes the feeling of nostalgia nicely. The musical transition between days is great and atmospheric, though I think it might have been a bit better to have some very light music during the days themselves to reinforce the eerie silence.

First time I played I got surprised by those hypersonic missiles, but after that I got a pretty good hang on it. And I think in a way the game gets a bit easier in later levels, since missiles get clustered much more often - in early days I sometimes had to think very carefully whether to fire an ABM or wait, and I completed them without any remaining, while later on I was basically just spamming them and still had some left at the end. Though I do believe they either get faster or spawn closer in the radar shadow the further in you go, since they did finally manage to get me. But 29 days doesn't sound like a bad score. ;)

It’s excellently polished, and the sound design brings a lot of tension *(which is definitely a complimentary for such a game concept, haha)*! However, gameplay is very repetitive and gets boring quickly :< Still a decent entry!

jvdwijk 2026-05-06 11:45

Such a cool game! You understand quite quickly what you have to do, and everything is pretty polished. There might be a small bug if you only have your center city left, the game froze for me on the 10th day.

On the 9th day I used my missiles a bit too quick and realized I had a problem when I had 1 missile left and 4 enemies heading toward my cities..

If you have leftover missiles from a previous day, do they get added to the next day?

graymansion 2026-05-06 11:45

The game is quite simple. Interesting mechanic and I also like the 8-bit style of graphics and sounds

the1 2026-05-06 14:40

@jvdwijk Not in this version. I was thinking of having the score increase with the remaining rockets, but then the question arose of what to do with them afterwards. Keeping them would require some balancing so that it wasn't too OP late game but there wasn't enough time to do it.

Really enjoyed the graphics and simple idea of this one. The way obstacles were only shown when the signal highlights it's position made it feel really realistic. I survived to day 6 and then got bombarded haha. Great fun well done!

Cool idea and nice mechanic. Also great sound and clean visual. Nice game.

It's quite a fun game to play. The difficulty seems to ramp up nicely. I was using my arsenal too sparingly and they took me by surprise.

It's certainly a good foundation for a game. It would be interesting if the city layout would be generated differently each time. Or perhaps you could assemble your own infrastructure from a selection of different modules?

Different enemies/threats would also be a fun thing to imagine.

Your game reminded me of two different pieces of media. I'll be dropping them here for general interest and for anyone who feels an innate desire to wallow in uncomfortable doomsday-scenarios. :radioactive:

Keep on jamming!

lenny-rudeberg 2026-05-06 16:28

Great simple, fun game. I really enjoyed the moody synth music that plays when you finish a level. Atmosphere and art is also great. GG!

fabonacci 2026-05-06 17:13

I loved the sound design ! The radar help to create tension. Well done !

euler-moises 2026-05-06 20:18

I discovered that I'm bad at this type of game. :D hahaha! I couldn't get past day 8. I didn't know how to manage the missiles.

I really liked the game. I thought it was uniquely simple. With few elements you managed to create something very polished and interesting. Even the little music for passing a level was well placed.

My main goal is to create a very simple and fun game at the same time. Like yours.

Congratulations!

Loved the spooky 70's style sci-fi synths and the old school arcade vector graphics.

I spammed off the missiles at everything too early, so learned a hard lesson in resource management.

Very cool - the feeling of dread as the missiles close in. :scream:

Pleasant game. I really like how it looks. It could be improved a lot and made more replayable by adding upgrades or base building that gives bonuses!

But I was a bit confused by the fact that when you run out of ammo, you just wait for your inevitable death... Slowly... And painfully...

Maybe you could add something like monsters moving faster, or the radar spinning faster when that happens.
