Nice entry! The graphics and lighting were really nice, and the audio was a good fit for the experience. Really intuitive, as far as Rube Goldberg life support systems go.

nice stuff

landerack 2020-04-20 08:14

Wah, that's really cool~ I fun to play and quick. few balancing issues if you work yourself into a corner xD but yeah thats cool!

bjornkri 2020-04-20 09:55

The Mac app is not working, errors with a rather unhelpful 'Cannot be opened'. Will try again when back at my PC, intrigued by the screenshots.

ben-taylor 2020-04-20 10:00

Had the same issue with the Mac app. Would be awesome if you could upload a HTML5 version!

week-of-the-agents 2020-04-20 18:18

Game with big perspectives to be released as puzzle for mobile phones.

daniel-alhadeff 2020-04-20 19:07

@Ben Taylor & @bjornkri, I'll see if I can get the Mac version working. I'm avoiding uploading an HTML version due to some significant performance issues that occur when using WebGL with some of my shaders.

Edit: I think it might have to do with some aspect ratio stuff I did with the UI. It clearly has issues so I'm going to take down the build for now as I don't want to make changes now that the compo ended.

itskdog 2020-04-20 22:58

Graphics were nice, but the glow was a little too much.

sthealthinator 2020-04-21 06:47

A really good Game! It really outstood from most other games.

jason-woerner 2020-04-21 11:33

Loved it! The gameplay was simplistic, but captivating. I did feel it got repetitive too quickly - I'd like to see the difficulty ramp up a little faster. I really have no other criticisms... Graphic style was great, and the font perfectly fit the theme, music had an engrossing beat, and there were enough tasks to perform to hold my interest for quite awhile :D Great job!

daniel-alhadeff 2020-04-21 19:20

Thanks for the kind words all :)

@jason-woerner Looking back on it I completely agree with what you said regarding difficulty. At ~90k points the difficulty starts to ramp up *a lot* faster. I probably should have made the difficulty spike at around 60k points instead.

Nice work. Really great asthetically and great audio choices. I found the puzzles simple but quick and fast paced which you need for a game like this. My only issue was the UI was bleeding off the screen. Make sure you switch the canvas scaler in unity to scale based on screen size and make sure to move around the Free aspect view to make sure your UI fits no matter what!

william-derksen 2020-04-22 00:12

I love the sound effects and the music is dope!

Not going to lie, not usually a fan of mouse heavy clicking to interact games, but this was real fun and surprisingly action-packed. I felt the power drain faster as I got further until the moments between each of my attempt at completing the X grid challenge grew. I remember at some point thinking I was safe to go for the grid, and then immediately getting shafted by 3 of the puzzles losing power. One of my favorite parts was the design of the note challenge, because for that you can either follow right along with the played notes, or even do another puzzle while watching the notes play. It really felt like I was barely holding Dr. Glebin's Electric Brain together!

Great Entry! Love it!

daniel-alhadeff 2020-04-22 04:13

@adam-konig Great to hear you liked it! So for the canvas scaler I set it scale based on screen height instead of the more traditional width. I was banking on most people having 16:9 screens. Looking back it probably would have been worth spending the 20 minutes to intelligently set up the UI.

@william-derksen Thanks for playing! That's exactly the feeling I was trying to go for with the note minigame - except I always died when I started multitasking.

I'm checking out both of your games now :)

Very nice visuals and sound design! Online leaderboard would be great for this game.

@jake-marks Thanks for streaming!

I loved your comment > "If Dr. Glebin wanted his brain to be kept alive he shouldn't have built such a shitty system"

I was actually considering implementing a leader-board but I ended up running short on time.

paul-nadan 2020-04-22 22:55

This was a lot of fun! The difficulty scaling was really well-calibrated, I definitely started off with a "this isn't too bad, I got this!" attitude that gradually morphed into "okay, okay, I just need to fix this quickly and it'll be alright" and finally "aaaah there's red lights everywhere, I'm sorry Dr. Glebin!!!" Also the visual effects were great, and the music fit the gameplay really well. Nice work!

designernap 2020-04-26 11:15

I give this high scores all round. Really nice implementation, great plate spinning mechanics that don't get old. Very well done!

daniel-alhadeff 2020-04-26 21:35

@paul-nadan & @designernap

Glad to hear you liked it, thanks for playing!

backurio 2020-04-27 21:59

Really awesome game. Came here from the MaxLouisCreative stream because it looked very interesting and it's exactly my type of games. Got 146.526 on my first try. I guess that's quite high. Could have gone a little higher but i just focused on the puzzle at the end ;)

Can't really say anything bad about your game. I take back the comment on the background because I completely faded it out when focusing on the different tasks. Fantastic job for being alone.

max-louis 2020-04-28 09:12

Wow! Played this in my stream last night (as you know) and absolutely loved it! It was fun getting everyone else involved in the stream too, like @backurio who I can see has commented here too! What I loved particularly about this management-type game was the immersive experience. You forget about everything else going on, I think it's the lighting and sounds (and of course, cool gameplay too!). Brilliant job on this - I snipped the part where I played your game to add here if you want to give it another watch! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/604980873

daniel-alhadeff 2020-04-29 15:29

@backurio Yeah that's an amazing score, especially for your first try! In the last few jams (non LD), I've made super hectic games that can honestly be a bit much. I'm glad to hear that the background faded out when focusing on the various tasks.

@max-louis Thanks for streaming it. I've found that a little bit of bloom (or a lot of bloom) goes a long way hiding my mediocre pixel art :)

wans24 2020-05-11 20:36

Awesome game. Can't say anything bad about this. I enjoyed it a lot, especially because I once had a similar idea of managing many devices to keep running, but never made a complete game out of this. Good job)
