Nice work! I really liked how the sphere getting smaller and smaller naturally increases the difficulty.

Nice work! I really liked how the sphere getting smaller and smaller naturally increases the difficulty.
This is a great game. Awesome transition between levels. Only critique is that it was unclear exactly how far you could turn, since you clipped partially into yourself whenever you turn. Great work.
This is a really fun game! The difficulty increase was just right and there never was a sudden spike.
This was a very nice twist on the Snake formula! The level transitions were super satisfying, and the way the snake moved and grew in 3D looked impressive. I don't agree that there was no sudden spike in difficult, though: the game seemed impossible to lose up until the yellow level, at which point one wrong turn could end a run.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! I fixed the overly aggressive self-intersection test bug so now you can turn sharper corners without dying. I also think I've fixed a camera stuttering problem on some computers. And I've also fixed the final red level bonus stage. It used to be basically impossible to survive more than a second or so but now it ramps up slower so you can actually score some decent points before it goes too fast for humans to react.
I really enjoyed this game! Great 3D take on the classic snake. Gameplay was very smooth, satisfying and fun. Towards the end it got challenging in a good way, but I didn't ever have any trouble figuring out the mechanics. The visuals were nice-looking, coherent, and got across the message they needed to get across; my only suggestion is that the black shadows are too harsh for this game. The worm looked fantastic and cute. Loved the explosion effect when you beat a level! Overall, great job.
Very nicely done - very elegant how the design/theme was used to increase difficulty.
Super fun! The tiny planets are really hard. The snake is very cute!
Really cool interpretation of the classic snake. I had to keep playing until I beat it. The starting levels can feel a bit slow as the fruit is really spaced out and the snake moves relatively slow, however, the challenge really ramps up once you get to the bottom layers. Great job!
That was really cool, and fun to play. Well done!
I really liked this game, was fun to get a good score and the graphics good!
Since noone else said it, get your mother loving snakes off my mother loving sphere.
Nice simple game. At first I wondered where the challenge was, but when the world started shrinking it became apparent. The last few layers are pretty challenging. Super fun take on a snake game! Also, kudos on coding the expandable smooth snake body, I imagine that isn't a trivial task and I can't imagine off the top of my head how I'd do that.
Good idea! Being curious how you solved the mapping of a 2 dimensional grid on a sphere was pretty simple. Just don't use a grid at all.
Thanks for this game :D
Have you seen Raised by Wolves? Fantastic take on a classic game! Very innovative use of procedural meshes. You should write a tutorial
Nice! Remind me my old Nokia... :stuck_out_tongue:
Nice take on snake!! The snake animation is very satisfying lol
Plays very smoothly, well done! I got 4467 points, managed to do a couple rotations on the last layer.
The level transitions are lit. The level indicators on the left could also have some animation, otherwise it's easy to miss them disappearing.
This is a cool twist on snake, and I love how you decided to shrink the planet to increase difficulty, very clever ! I also really liked that you technically have a clear goal, but once you've reached it the game keeps going. I'm wondering how you did the snake, is it realtime mesh deformation ?

This is an awesome little game! I really enjoyed your original take on a classic game of snake. The transition between levels as you smash through the current layer is really nice and the graphics looks really good for the style. I really think you should take this idea and transition it to mobile if you haven't already. Maybe spice up the UI and away you go! Awesome Job!
What an actually original twist on snake, and it also fits the theme well!
The increase in difficulty by not only growing the snake but also shrinking the planet feels very natural and fair! At least up to a certain point. At some point there is a hard line where the snake does not fit on the planet anymore, right? Mybe it would be even better if the snake also shrank, but somehow slower than the planet, so that the difficulty will still increase but it will never be impossible to pla further, only extremely hard?
But anyway, I enjoyed the game and I think you have a very solid start to work on further, if you wanted to make this a mobile game for example!
