neat concept, i got stuck at level 4. I think i tried them all but i couldn't find the answer to the riddle.

epiccrownking 2021-04-25 21:16

Very cool concept and clean execution, but I don't know how to get past level 4.

turkey 2021-04-26 01:01

@cjgammon It seems to be a common theme xD Atleast you were able to try them all!

turkey 2021-04-26 01:01

@epiccrownking Glad you liked it! Maybe I'll see about reworking the level 4 riddle

epiccrownking 2021-04-26 01:10

@Turkey yeah, that'd be great :b I just couldn't figure out where to find the solution, but making a game entirely in HTML and CSS is a really hard task and you did it really well! I wouldn't even be able to fathom where to start with it, so massive kudos.

liammasters 2021-04-26 03:15

Really cool showcase of a game that doesn't need all the bells and whistles to still be cool and fun.

turkey 2021-04-26 03:16

@liammasters Glad you liked the game! Definitely shows you don't need all the latest tools to make something enjoyable!

pixelportalz 2021-04-26 03:20

10/10, best performance in a browser for any LD48 game!

Jokes aside, super cool idea!! So creative. I could not solve the riddle, Layer 4 was "empty". A tiger? Purple? I even tried to use the console :)

delicioussalad 2021-04-26 03:23

Fun, innovative idea for a game! I managed to get to the end. The fact this was made entirely in HTML/CSS is really cool. Awesome work

turkey 2021-04-26 03:25

@pixelportalz Close! You are meant to put the two hints together. Props for trying to use the console to figure it out though!

turkey 2021-04-26 03:25

@delicioussalad I appreciate the support! Good work on beating it!

pixelportalz 2021-04-26 03:29

@turkey I have to go back and try again. Piper tiger mumble mumble. EDIT: I was coding for 48 hours so I inserted the color of the pipe (purple) in the riddle. I got it!!! Sorry my brain was fried

turkey 2021-04-26 03:34

@pixelportalz Eyyy! Glad you got it in the end

ben-taylor 2021-04-26 03:40

Hey! Thanks for making this, was really cool. I'm a web dev so was cool to see the neat things you did.

turkey 2021-04-26 03:46

@ben-taylor Glad you liked it! Does this mean that you can now make a game, but claim you are still working since it's web dev? hmmmmmm.... xD

rhoff95 2021-04-26 03:56

Awesome idea. Really nice that you made this fun, lots of 'figure out path to bottom' games are just guess and check but this seems to avoid that feeling. well done.

turkey 2021-04-26 03:59

@rhoff95 Yes, I really wanted to avoid it just being a random click the pipe maze, with no thought. Glad to see that it seems to have worked!

lakshyaisagod 2021-04-26 04:07

HTML and CSS are both very hard languages to make games in.Plus, no Game Engine? Pretty Short nd Sweet game. But The CSS and HTML made me give it a 5

petra-the-kat 2021-04-26 04:11

God, every time I work with HTML & CSS I'm reminded why I hate working with HTML & CSS... The browser has no right to be able to do this, it's an abomination. Why you can make a game that's compelling at all with just that is beyond me...

But anyways, it's nice and simple. I like it more as a tech demo than a game though...

turkey 2021-04-26 04:13

@lakshyaisagod Thanks!

turkey 2021-04-26 04:16

@petra-the-kat Yeah, It's definitely also meant to be a "tech demo" of sorts, but yes, just think, the ability to do this is just lurking in every page you visit!

greg-the-egg 2021-04-26 04:39

I love it! The core gameplay loop is surprisingly engaging. Clicking on a pipe and finding a new layer is a very satisfying experience!

The only thing I'm missing is audio. I'm not sure how hard that would be (or if it's even possible) with just HTML5, but some relaxing background tracks and pipe traversal sound would really elevate this already charming concept.

Great work!

turkey 2021-04-26 04:45

@greg-the-egg Happy you found it engaging! I wish I was better with music to attempt to do some background tracks. Thanks for the feedback!

tomn114 2021-04-26 08:37

Heyy I dont know if you remember me but it's hoobit I tuned it to your stream a couple of times while you were working on it, it's actually crazy to see all the new levels and the project coming to life! Even after seeing it already on the stream it was still kinda hard (esp. the math one) and engaging, and I love that you challenged yourself to just HTML and CSS and made it work.

rouge-dragon 2021-04-26 10:20

Nice concept! Congratulations!!! I'm stuck at level 4! I would have probably played for much longer if I could find the answer.

turkey 2021-04-26 12:00

@tomn114 Hey! Yes I do remember you stopping by! Good to see you on here too! Thanks for playing and supporting me while I made the game! Glad you enjoyed my end result!

turkey 2021-04-26 12:02

@rouge-dragon yeah, level 4 seems to be a common problem. As a hint there are two "hints" to the riddle in the level that you out together and they tell you the answer. You are able to skip and play the other levels using the level select on the main page! Thanks for playing though!

robin-scarbrough 2021-04-26 16:35

I'd suggest phrasing the first half of the hint as a question for level 4. I think this is a fun use of your tools.

nick-barrash 2021-04-26 17:24

Well done! that was a lot of fun

binaryprinciple 2021-04-26 17:26

Good idea on combining mechanics! I like how the game ask you to put attention and the puzzles were interesting. Good game.

turkey 2021-04-26 17:43

@robin-scarbrough That's a good idea for how to address the issue with that level. thanks!

@nick-barrash Thanks for playing!

@binaryprinciple Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

kuviman 2021-04-26 19:41

Cool game, only HTML and CSS is interesting

dergamer 2021-04-26 20:03

I also, like some poeple here, got stuck on level 4, looked it up in the console, after that it was quite fun, i really enjyoed plaing

turkey 2021-04-26 20:05

@kuviman I appreciate you playing the game!

@dergamer Yes, the trend has definitely been set xD Glad you stilled liked the game!

rhewid 2021-04-26 22:16

Interesting concept! Nice usage of HTML and CSS to create that kind of game! Keep it up :D

vimlark 2021-04-26 22:19

Really great concept!

turkey 2021-04-26 22:20

@rhewid Glad you liked it! Thanks for the support!

turkey 2021-04-26 22:20

@vimlark I enjoyed watching you play it!

asiyeap 2021-04-27 19:32

Wooow such a great idea and lot of fun! thank you for the experience!

turkey 2021-04-27 20:14

@asiyeap Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had a lot of fun time playing it!

andrewkennedy 2021-05-01 16:27

Clever and fun! It was the perfect length, and didn't overstay its welcome.

The limitation to just HTML and CSS was an interesting constraint.

Good work!

felo07 2021-05-02 06:11

Very unique concepct, you can put loads of puzzles in that, very good, good game

betovf 2021-05-13 06:00

Five stars in innovation! As a web programmer I'm very interested in your code :nerd: Great job!

turkey 2021-05-13 16:55

@betovf Glad you liked it! Feel free to criticize it and tell me how much it hurts you to look at xD

oadt 2021-05-16 11:41

A cool technical idea and impressive result with that kind of constraint. Even though the focus was more on the technical side the game made fun and was interesting to play!

turkey 2021-05-17 02:56

@oadt Thanks for playing and enjoying the technical constraint!
