There are some stability issues when I run this, so that is my biggest barrier to leaving more feedback! What did run smoothly was enjoyable, I really like the artstyle and the platforming was nice. I'd maybe reduce the delay between MB1 and the shlice. Good job, pretty huge for the short time!

Thank you for your positive feedback, it really means much to me, this is my first ludum game so it definitely needs polishing and work, I know and see that as well and I'll focus on that in upcoming days maybe I can expand the scope of this game. Thank you again for your feedback and I'll keep in mind the things you said :)
I really liked the idea of the cursed blade, I think it fits the theme perfectly. The jumping felt nice, but I think the player shouldn't be able to "push" enemies around. As other comments noted I also think the attack should be a lot faster.

@anaxie-studio yeah it needs definitely polishing I'll work on these matters in the upcoming days thank you for your nice feedback :)
Beautiful game! I love the pixel art, especially the environment. The delay on the weapon attack was a bit rough for me but fits the theme well. Jumping felt really good and I liked the badguys.

@david-york thank you very much for your positive feedback
Hello there! The game it self is a pretty good idea. But there are some things I realyised. The first one is, the attack animation isn't working very right. Sometimes, the player isn't doing anything, and sometimes, he is only moving his arm, but maybe I just clicked to fast. One other thing, there was no real music or sound for me.
But I also have to say some positiv things! The pixel art is VERY good! I want to be that good in designing my graphics. Also the idea of having a cursed blade fits the theme very well!

Good job on your first Ludum Dare submission! Our game actually had the same idea so I wanted to check this one out. I like the idea of the blade draining your health. Unfortunately it didn't seem to be working for me as my health was always at 100%. The ample coyote time on jump off ledges felt nice but the level design made it so once you fell off some platforms you could never get back up on them. Great job!
The art is very nice. Fun to play. I liked how the jumping felt very precise, and the delay before the attack introduced some interesting strategy.

@crimsonshade thank you I bit edit the free assets I have in this project and I draw some of them looking through examples in net. Yeah there are some problems with the animations I need to optimize that and also the other things in game. For the sake of making into the jam I sadly ignore some of the missing parts and bugs, and for animations you are right sometimes it doesn't work how it intended. About music and sound, sadly I couldn't put any music or sound because of the time limit, if I could put music or even sound, to the game I couldn't make it to the jam I would have to put extra. Thanks for the feedback btw really appreciated.

@sjpixels Thank you for your feedback, that health drain sometimes can be stuck I tried to fix that before publishing it but I couldn't find the problem and I ignore that situation because that bug sometimes occurs, I'm very sorry that you experienced that bug I'll fix that problem in upcoming days with other problems and also level design needs some work of course I'll keep that in mind when I start polishing again this project. Thank you again :)

@abdonatioera thank you I tried to edit some free assets and draw myself looking through some examples, I'm glad you had fun :)
The art for this game is really wonderful! I'd love to see the character movement get a little more attention. Mainly I found it difficult to navigate some of the gaps, it required a ton of precision. Fun though!

@kingofspill thank you some of the art is edited versions of free assets I have and some them I drew from looking through examples. Yeah character movements is not fluid the way I wanted I'll try to optimize that later. Level design needs some work too. Thank you I really appreciated

Congrats on finishing the jam! The game is definitely a bit rough around the edges. The attack in particular felt very slow. However, I did really enjoy the slide jump move. The sprite art was good, although I noticed that the characters had pixels that were much smaller than the background, making it feel incohesive. But even just finishing the jam is an accomplishment in and of itself. Good job!

Congrats on finishing the game! The textures were good but there was no sound or music in the game. Also the player doesn't attack when i left click. The animations are delayed. By fixing these issues, your game will be awesome! Good job!

I second most points the others made before: good art, clunky attack, no audio...
But i want to nitpick something about the pixel sizes - they are not consistent! It would look even better if all sprites were scaled to the same resolution. Its not too bad and i dont think its a big issue for a jam game but i think its useful advice moving forward.
But as a first publish the art especially is really impressive.

@taran95 yeah the sound and music sadly couldn't make it to this version because, I was able to post at the last minute for participate in jam so that's a big missing part but I will add these missing features for another version. Player attack sometimes doesn't respond correctly because of the animation I guess, I'll investigate that matter too. Some of the textures are edited versions of some free assets and some of them are drawn by me looking through examples. Thank you very much for your feedback

@willoxs thanks pixel sizes are not consistent you are right, that was problem when I test the game but I don't have time to fix that problem because I was able to publish in last minute for jam. The art is not completely original but I can say 50-50 because some of the sprites are edited versions of some of the free assets I've been using and some of them I draw by myself looking through internet and draw similer arts that I liked. I'm glad that you liked I'm gonna continue to develop this game and rework almost all of the art style, mechanics, sounds and music so it can %100 original. Thank you again :)
First of all, very impressive for a first jam. It is impressive to get ANYTHING across the finish line and there's a lot of great things here. Things that I loved - the art style, overall concept, and take on the theme. Obviously I wish there was sound but I know that's a difficult resource to find.
Some suggestions for the sword animation and attack - my hunch is that you based the attack hitbox on the sword swing? Sword attacks typically only have one frame of "wind up" or they even go immediately into the full swing on the first frame. Having multiple frames of pulling out a sword results in a sluggish attack, and players typically want to cause damage the second they hit the button. The general rule of thumb is that the player should attack immediately with little to zero "wind up" and enemies should be more sluggish and have more "wind up" to allow for player response. I'd check out some pixel art tutorials on YouTube that specifically address attack animations and how to match them up well with your gameplay.
Great job though and I hope you keep expanding on this game! A little more polish on the art and speed up that attack, and I think you've got a really great project. :)

@pixelydian Thank you very much for your feedback it really put a smile on my face and I will definitely keep in mind the advices you've given to me. I was aware some of these problems while I published this project for jam and I'm wanting to keep going and making something beautiful and original as well with every aspect of it. Thanks for the advices again it is very important to me, I've noted all of the advices you've given :)
Really nice work on the art :) I defeated all the enemies and then I couldn't seem to find what all to do. Is that intentional? As in you're avoiding the inevitable by absorbing health until you run out of enemies? being able to slash while jumping would be really handy as the enemies float just out of reach a lot of the time :) Congrats on your first jam!! Keep it up!

@brotherst thank you I tried to edit some of the free assets I've been used other projects of mine and some of them I tried to draw by myself looking through examples but if I continue to develop this game I will rework all of the art and mechanics of course maybe with a little story as well :) Maybe the enemy spawn system stopped working that's why you couldn't find any enemy. Actually you can slash enemies in mid-air but the thing is animation doesn't working so you can never know if you attacked or what I couldn't fix that problem sorry :) I'm glad that you enjoyed really, your feedback is very important to me thank you so much

I really like the art and concept, though I can't see the health bar for some reason. I think that the attack could be instant, just with click, as I was confused at first, how to attack  And since there are flying ghosts, it would be nice if I could also attack in air. Good job though, congrats on your first LD game!

@noiyy oh nooo that is rare bug you came across I'm really sorry that, you experienced this but I'll polish this health bar in upcoming days  . Yeah I need rework on the attack speed and also attack animation, that thing can confuse people so much. Actually you can hit enemies while in mid air but the thing is when you attack mid air the attack animation doesn't work so people couldn't know if they attacked or what I need to fix that as well  . Thank you for your feedback I really appreciated
Wow the art is really amazing, love the animations, game is very unfinished though, but I remember my first jam game lol.

@digitaldude555 thanks, the art is like a mix tape some of them I drew myself looking through some examples some of them are edited versions of the free assets I used for my other projects but thank you. Yeah the game is very unfinished and have lot of bugs, that means a lot of work to do for me  but I want to keep going and expand the game I see a potential thank you for your feedback
