Pretty sweet game! Took me a second to get the gist, but once I did, It made total sense and was quite intuitive and fun.

Pretty sweet game! Took me a second to get the gist, but once I did, It made total sense and was quite intuitive and fun.
Very simple and easy to understand.
I like this concpt. Would be nice play something similar on mobile
Haha, this is NOT for the trackpad on a laptop. Much better with a mouse. I agree with uboretsky, mobile would be good for this, I mean an html export should be able to run it just fine.
Overall, great short, well themed game. Thanks!
Intutive simple controls. I like that you let the gameplay speak for itself no. Great entry!
Clever concept! Quite fun too, and fairly intuitive, would be nice to see it developed.
Really clever game, was actually quite enjoyable. The collision detection in general felt very off however, I would lose to red balls that didn't touch me. The mouse aim was also very inaccurate for me for some reason, it had a really odd sensitivity/undershoot issue. All in all though I really liked playing this entry.
Pretty fun game, with interesting mechanics. I would find it fun in the old times when most of the games actually looked like this one. It's endlessness is also a fun way to create competition within friends - you would just need to implement some kind of score counter, maybe even implement mechanics like those in touhou games, where you get bonus points for grazing the projectiles. Also, i had some problem with controls, the blue bar was not following the coursor, and i had a weird feeling it was bound only to the x axis. This made it hard to actually protect myself once i got catched by red balls and a wall with my ball in between
I appreciate the simplicity with an interesting twist on a classic. Personally, I would have loved a pixel art style for some extra nostalgia, maybe even a simple old school color pallet of green and black. Seriously, a little bit of tweaks on the visual design and I think you have a great mobile game here. Lots of room to expand and create more challenges. Overall a great mechanic and I think you should keep working on it. Great job!
Nice, simply effective. Great submission!
Cool concept! As others have said, it really feels like something that could be played on mobile, try to look into that. It has potential! For the game itself, I think a timer (or score indicator) would be a nice quality of life addition to make the game more appealing. Also, the mouse controls for the blue bar rotation could be changed for a more "local" approach, to be able to rotate the bar without having to transverse the entire screen. All in all, I really enjoyed the game, and like people already said I think you should expand it into a full-fledged mobile game. Great job!
I liked the flipping on its head of Pong. Obviously the game is on the simple side and lacking in variety, but I could see you taking this concept places if you wanted. I remember loving Mortal Pongbat back in the day. :-)
Really creative experimental little game! The blue spheres are redundent, right? The player can't control if he collects them anyway.
This was very clever! Like others have said you can definitely take this game places. While it never happened to me, I imagined that the red ball could appear right where I am and kill me without giving me any time to react...maybe having them spawn in blinking for a second or so would be better.
@ClaytonRumley I made it so that the game will loop the attempt to spawn any ball if the player is too close to the (random near-center) spawn area (did not account for direction, however).
@01FE7E the blue balls serve 2 purposes: 1) give some breathing room for the player 2) get the secondary objective. I was looking into giving the player more agency to allow some amount of control but I couldn't find a solution I liked in time for the submission.
@ikelucas & @MatiF100 I was concerned that a scoreboard would distract the player but it's definitely something to look into (maybe at the end?). The rotation of the paddle is (or should be) related to the center of the screen, I originally had it relative to the player ball but that caused a lot of unintended 180 when the ball flew past the cursor.
I'm getting a lot of feedback to continue elaborating on the idea and it is encouraging. I'll definitely try to polish it some more (especially to fix the physics/collision). A web version and/or a mobile version would be pretty sweet.
Thank you all!
